SWEET DADDY WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE GUEST ON THE SHOW. ESPECIALLY THE EPISODE WHERE HE HAD TO HAVE BLOOD DRAWN OR A TRANSFUSION. HE was absolutely hilarious in that episode!!
My dad knew Dap from their childhood days in Philly. In the early 70's we moved to Cali and so did Dap. He was over our house often. This man was funny as hell. In real life he dusted his clothes every 5 minutes! People in Cali thought people from Philly were big into fashion because my dad and Dap were dressed to the nines everyday. To this day they are two of the best dressers I've ever seen in my life. Every day they looked as if the stepped out of a GQ magazine. His girlfriend had 9 inch finger nails that amazed me as a kid. Surely do miss Dap. Rest easy Dap.
North Philly right here. Ain't nothing changed, we still the flyest. I got cousins from New York that came to Philly to see how we was rockin. True NYC had it first, but they didn't know how to put it together.

You left out the part when Sweet Len-nay approached Wilona in the night club. He wasn't selling anything but himself. "Until you've had Len-nay you ain't had any!"
There was an episode where Lenny was in a hospital trying to sell. He opened his coat and said something like "I got a portable potty, if you want it you can take it. Or a whole set of bedpans, just in case you can't make it."
Might be the episode went they are short the rent. Everyone tries their own scam to get some cash. Williona takes Flo to the welfare office. Kids fake hunger. James saves the day with a 3 bank pool shot.

He was a North Philly legend but most of the people who knew him here are either dead or so old that their memories have faded. It would be interesting to see who he was off the TV scenes.
