    It’s great to see that you and your wife are really enjoying scenery flights. The more as you both, each in a different manner I suppose, invested a lot of time in this project and making this happen! I’m convinced that flying into a commercial airport, requires a lot of courage. Chapeau! Enjoy the beautiful city surroundings.

    I've been to Quebec City only once. Unfortunately, we arrived at about 10 pm and had to leave at about 5 am so I only got to look around the city about an hour in the dark before having to leave.
    It is really the only place in Canada (perhaps North America) that authentically looks like you're in an old European city.

    Beautiful scenery and city. Spending 26 years averaging 100+ flights per year as human cargo, I was always under the impression that ATC communications, internationally, were only in English. Obviously I was ignorant of what was going on all that time.

Became a pilot in 2021 and one of the reasons is to help us visit our family in Quebec more often! So I should make that trek hopefully within the next 6 months or so, after I complete my IFR rating! I was especially glad to see your landing at Jean-Lesage because that would be one of my stops for sure. I rode Dash-8's into and out of YGK *many* times while I lived there. I'm a bit torn: I'm curious about the mechanics of operating at a busy airport, but honestly more interested in the out-of-the-way places you can visit. Whatever you choose, I'll be watching.

    Hello Glen and Julie ! I would love if you did a video Glen for those afraid of flying. I’m oddly okay on short flights to Toronto, but on long haul or overseas I feel very heart attacky ugh. It’s fear of turbulence mostly in a larger aircraft. Gorgeous and beautiful flight Glen ! As someone who’s of French Canadian descent I’ve never gotten to fly into one of those cities...it’s always been train or car so lovely to see the view and the glaciers path. Glen, i will indeed visit Quebec City. I live in New Hampshire USA so only 180 miles or so from the border and we travel to Province of Quebec for sightseeing fairly often (at least prior to covid) and last spring Toronto on a trip to Niagra Falls. We went to Sherbrooke a month or so ago and on the 2nd day we thought about going north to Quebec City but I, foolishly I now know, opted for "what I know" and we went to Montreal instead. Your glimpse of Q.C. suggests that I chose wrong. I will rectify that next spring or summer.
    BTW, I don't fly a plane... but, as a fan of your other channel, I checked this one out at your 2nd video. As a guy that has restored everything from motorcycles to pinball machines and jukeboxes to boats and motors I got real interested in your restoration and upgrading of C-FMVU and have been with you all the way. Some fifteen years ago I worked at the same company as and old friend of mine (our whole family, actually). So I used to join him for the breakfast and lunch breaks. One monday, I told him that I had been to a flea market on sunday. And told him: "I've bought a CD with classic music." He turned to me in shock: "Are you sick?" Another great flight, thanks for sharing. places seem so much more beautiful higher up .
    Its always good to have a second set of eyes looking out, pointing out the Float-plane was a good catch.
    Would you not consider a sterile cockpit below or above 500 AGL during critical phases a good habit to get into ?
    A good example is the conversation after she pointed out the plane, I would think in some cases that would be a distraction?
    I am not in anyway qualified to fly or judge anyone but I would think it may be something to try as these videos are a great learning tool and a way to improve the safety that you already hold very high.

    Can you share your camera settings without using GoPro labs? And what about the SD card, is it a certain volume or brand that does better with the heat? I struggle with my GoPros as well.

    • @GlensHangar
      @GlensHangar  2 роки тому +3

      Most of my settings are based on using 24p and not the stock Gopro 23.976 - but I have GPS, Bluetooth, wifi all shut off as well as reducing the stabilisation in order to reduce the amount of processing needed.
      The SD cards that I've found to work best so far are the Samsung EVO Plus ( the newer white ones), they seem to allow sustained writes with higher temps.
      I'm testing right now the Hero11 and the new Osmo Action3 should be here for testing next week; I'll have a video out on those cameras soon. The Hero11 seems to have fixed most of the heat and non-heat induced glitches and shutdowns.
