What you mentioned about the anti-colonial anarchists in Japan made me think a broader study of anti-colonial movements within the colonizing empire in general might be interesting.
Check our episodes on revolutions; many are anti-colonial.
I love this and binge watching your entire channel! ❤ total fan girl
Thank you!!!
Oh wow! This looks wild. I had no idea about any of this until this most recent season of the podcast Blowback (which I'd love to hear your perspective on). I won't be able to watch this until later but I wanted to drop a comment for the Al Gore Rhythm.
Pretty good enlightening stuff here first time listener
Quite informative. My only suggestion is you try using maps
I know that not everyone is good at pronouncing words from a different language, but honestly Joseon is not at all hard to pronounce, all it takes is to listen to it once 😅
Where do you all provide sources?
Cited in the dialogue (like in-text), which one were you curious about? I can't attach files from academic data bases or texts, but here are some of the linked ones used:

This was enlightening. Ive spent time in both countries and knew about some of the history, but this just really opened my eyes. Such a complex history and so tragic. I think you can understand that as all countries turned inwards by necessity and circumstance, they all started healing. Colonisation is tragic. I live in NZ , an ex British colony, but from the Maori perspective, still colonised. Your discussion made me wonder about what it would be like if the colonists had to return to their homelands.
We'd like to get to some of the NZ example as well!
@@RevolutionandIdeology Your perspective would be so interesting. I can help you with resources if you like (am an academic).
Sorry for the delay (summer breaks and whatnot); I'm not sure when we're going to do another deep dive colonial case study, but I'd like help w/Maori/NZ resources.
When will you speak up about Palestine
Korea was not feudal.
