I'd like to see a review of the base/entry level car with no options. That's a better taxi. Which features are standard and which ones are expensive options?
this is a very nice car but the problem is that I notice that with the majority of all of these new luxury cars is they all look the same but just in different sizes. when growing up as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s luxury cars had different styling but you it there was a Lincoln Town Car parked next to a Continental they was different but you knew they came from the same family just like a Cadillac Deville from the Seville or Lexus 400 and ES. Nowadays i could see Acura RLX,TLX and ILX down the street and couldn't tell u the difference
Mercedes is world leader in automotive, but it's over-designed and will cost a fortune for repairs once the warranty expire, much rather go with Lexus as luxury value brand
I completely agree. I suspect people that believe this to be true are becoming fewer and fewer. Cars seem to becoming rolling entertainment lounges with a plethora of distractions that seem to be pulling us further away from developing natural driving instincts and spacial awarenesses, especially with regard to those automated safety features. I think that if the day comes that I need these things or my car doesn't require me to be there 10% of the time, I'm getting a chaffese or taking public transit regularly
Why the amazement? This is big brother to the nth degree. Imagine your hacked car taking you where you don't want to go so that it can be stolen. Aside from that, the next question becomes: why even bother to learn how to drive? Take the bus!
Bilal Khan you can, the car will always follow your commands. It just reacts if you don’t. If you hit the accelerator, even while aiming at a group of pre-schoolers, it will obey.
Still changing the rear indicator lights to red for North America, Mercedes! Disappointed...get the basics right first. All your cars used to have amber rear indicator lights but something happened about 10-12 years ago. I need an answer.
Nice looking car, with plenty of nice tech and opulence, but almost none of the cars you have listed in the description are "competitors" to this with its woefully underpowered and unrefined engine. That alone puts is at the very bottom of the stack, unfortunately.
Hi, I'm from the future year 2021. I bought my 2018 E300 4Matic new and have driven it daily. I wouldn't call the base 4 cylinder engine woefully underpowered or unrefined. It has been a smooth reliable workhorse while getting close to 30mpg. The base engine has a wild side when pressed. I have never once had a problem merging or passing. I even beat a Shelby GT500 in a drag race the other day. Ok, that part was a lie but the rest is true.
I have a 2019 E300 4matic and even though I was leery about a turbo 4 I think it’s power level is fine. Admittedly I usually drive with it in economy (28 mpg city and believe it or not 38-40 mpg highway) but when I had to accelerate out of trouble (a truck drifted into my lane) the turbo kicked in and it was like I hit secretariat with a riding crop. Let’s face it, it’s a luxury car. Anyone that wants high performance is going to go for the AMG version.
Why safety features are for rich people ? What are these life saving features are not standard ? Can someone tell me? Is my safety not worthy cuz I am not rich?
Normal car brands have safety features too, you just have to pay a little more for them. Actually do some research before you make stupid blanket statements like that.
Great car. Good clear presentation.
The tech in this car is seriously impressive.
Now this car is impressive.

Do not forget if you get into a accident while using these features you are 100% responsible you cannot blame the technology.
What about the Model S?
All I see is a C-Class.
Mercedes just like Audi have started using a photocopy machine for it's model.
Usama Tariq The Germans have been doing it for decades.
Nice Parking right there.
Douche bag parking like always with the Mercedes
not as bad as bmw lol

this is Ottawa
Brian did ok, but Where is Zach please?
In real life these features are an annoyance.

I strongly agree
You calling me old?
+Motormouth Canada no lol I just wanted to hear your impressions over the gentleman in the video!
Haha actually because i dont know your name, but really love the way how you review cars, old man.
I thought he did a good job
First comment. Nice review.
Advanced sure.. after you pay for every one of those features extra
What if there is a robbery going on and i can save some ones life by smashing me car into the culprits? ;)
Bilal Khan you can, the car will always follow your commands. It just reacts if you don’t. If you hit the accelerator, even while aiming at a group of pre-schoolers, it will obey.
This was more of a review of the technology rather than the car...

Wait isn't the s class the most advanced
So not a single word about how awful this 2 litre engine is?
With all these technologies, why can't car companies make the vehicle back into a parking spot (instead of front into the spot)
Why safety features are for rich people ?
What are these life saving features are not standard ?
Can someone tell me?
Is my safety not worthy cuz I am not rich?
Should the folks who develop advanced safety systems give away their technology for free? Do YOU work for free?
if u need safety features then u shouldn't be driving.......
They aren't for "rich" people, they're for people who pay for them.

The safety features on my Benz keep you safer as a driver and pedestrian. You're welcome.
2 liter 4 banger in an E class? Are you kidding me?
This guy is trying but his narration just doesn't sound exciting
who the fuck is this guy?
Overengineered junk.
Boring to look at
