The word "Caribbean" comes from the Carib Indians, the region's first inhabitants, and some say it should be pronounced "CARE-ib-bee-an". However, the Associated Press Broadcast Handbook lists the pronunciation as "KUH-RIB'BEE-UHN", which may be why some broadcasters mispronounce it. I prefer the first for the ride and the second for the islands.
The Mine Train ride reminds me of Silver Dollar City’s Fire in the Hole, which I loved. They opened a new Fire in the Hole this year, but haven’t rode it yet. Hope it’s as iconic as the original! Enjoy your CA time, Adam. 😊
We handed a phone to two cowboys to take our pictures. They pretended to be having trouble figuring it out. When they handed it back, we had 10 selfies of them and one picture of us.
California definitely has quality actor/actresses at Knotts Berry and other parks there. Really nice watching. Very badass roller-coasters too. Thanks Adam.
“Calico Mine Ride” was the last ride I operated when I used to work at Knott’s Berry Farm back in 02’ and trust me, it was the funniest ride to operate. Thank you Adam for showing this ride some love!
@@TheDailyWoo Same here and here’s a quick insight. The ride is timed while operating it and I believe it is 8-12 minutes long and we as the ride operator/conductor operate the whole train and have to meet certain marks on the exact time or else the ride will stop/stall. When you go next time, sit behind the conductor and you will see a timer in red next to them which helps keep them on track/reaching their marks. The spiel we learned for the ride was another fun thing to learn as well. 😁
@@369284ab Great question and from what I remember, we fully operated the train and even had to use a break to slow the train down. I believe it does run on gravity and that ride is mostly going downhill and is why we had to constantly use the breaks and had to make sure we met our marks with the time when operating it.

Thanks for the video! It brought back so many childhood memories. My grandparents lived about a mile from Knotts on Stanton Ave. I have great memories of the mine ride, log ride, and panning for gold. My grandmother used to send my sister and I christmas dresses from a childrens store at Knotts every year. Also, I can't believe how different Buena Park looks. I went to the wax museum there so many times--sorry to see it go. Fond, fond memories!
I'm going to try visiting Knott's. I'm not very mobile anymore, but I think I can get around Knott's. I won't ride anything, but I just enjoy being there. Thanks for visiting for us.
My mom has some mobility issues and she did Knotts with myself and my kids, a few months ago. She had a great day! Just take breaks when you need to. I hope you have a wonderful time!👍

I love Knotts, the chicken dinner is wonderful. When we were at Disneyland we’d take a break around 2 pm and drive over to Knotts for the dinner relax then return to Disneyland. As far as bang for your buck Knotts delivers prices are very reasonable. The mine ride and the log ride are amazing, they have some great coasters too.
I use to go to Knott's Berry Farm all the time growing up in the summer. Back when I was a teenager it stayed open tell 11 and after 4 you could get it for 10 dollars. They also had a place called hobby city that was close by. I miss being able to go all the time. Now im homebound due to health issues. I also love Snoopy and all the Peanuts characters. I grew up in Barstow California so I was close to Calico Ghost Town.
Fun times at Knott’s. Glad to see the good old stuff is still there! The Calico mine train made me wonder about the Calico Ghost Town, outside Barstow. Have you been there? That would be fun Adam! We camped there once for a music festival back in the early ‘80s.
Every fast food company seems to be adopting what's been called the "shoe box" look. Bland rectangle buildings with no character. Kinda sad these places give up character for fancy modern designs.
Thanks for the many trips to the parks adventures. I’m happy the mine train still has the bubbly pots whereas at Disney it is now done with lights. Finally back to home state CA several years ago, I had nostalgic fun on this mine train, so much going on and the nostalgic look makes it even more creepy. You can’t top perfection. I rode with my son’s mom in law, when she got off she told my daughter in law “Don’t you ever get me on that ride again!”
Several couples crammed into Judge Roy Beans office and were married en masse, back in 1965, the ring was a bent horseshoe nail. A popular place on Saturday nights. Fun!

Great video, as always. Knotts was my favorite place as a kid in the 80s. I believe the fountain in front of the beary tale ride, is screen used from the movie Hello Dolly.
They used to have a section of the park that was Roaring 20's in the 70's saw KC and the sunshine band when I was around 11 years old and one of the ride in that part was a motorcycle roller coaster and scared the hell out of me !

Adam, I was expecting a train don’t run out of Wichita line there from “Planes,Trains and Automobiles “when you were reading the sign at the Ghost Town & Calico Railroad 😂
My first time at Knotts was 1988 and I spoke to Sad Eyes then and he’s still incarcerated there after 36 years! Time to call the Governor for a pardon!
I always assumed that Knotts Berry Farm was like, a farm, having never been there or seen anything about it. Imagine my surprise… 😃 I like what I saw here with all the actual actors staging scenes and the old-time nature of the place. Ol’ Sad Eye was cool. It seems much more authentic than the Disney parks, which I really don’t care for much. This looked like it could be a lot of fun.

And inside it looks like an upscale corporate office building.
The calico mine ride always reminded me of Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom.
My first time at Knotts was 1988 and I spoke to Sad Eyes then and he’s still incarcerated there after 36 years! Time to call the Governor for a pardon!
As a matter of fact he’s been there since 1941!

I love the days with no plans!
