Great video only question I had was about baiting the treble hook. Does your method work? I have always hooked the liver on one barb and left the other two open so there a bigger chance with setting the hook. Never tried it by covering all the barbs.

Just try to do a kinda of fan casting in different areas when u aren't getting bites and also could try hooking the worms like a plastic bass worm , it works sometimes.

Bro. I've learned to switch to a smaller hook, I now use #6's. I use a very small split shot below a slip sinker about 20" above my hook. I use to catch 4 to 5 an hr. I now catch as many as a dozen an hr. Give it a try, you'll thank me, they feel the big hook and drop it. (Glen). WV. God Bless!
We have a nice pond here about 3 minutes in Mesquite Texas that they stock every 2 weeks and i found the best hait for stocked catfish ponds is Magic Bait( Maybe because they are raised on fake food). Worms are good too. But its seem like stocked catfish don't really dig liver, like wild catfish do.

Cherry jello and small cuts of chicken breast work really well. Plus, it toughens it up so it stays on your hook 100× better than liver. That or any natural pan fish in their environment works extremely well

Been fishing limb lines using many baits.... cheese, cut, gizzards, hot dogs... Can throw them out in evening and check in morning... No matter what I use the hooks will be clean in morning and no fish.... Is that turtles doing that? If they can get a gizzard off the hook, that would be hard to do...

Dip the worm in the chicken liver to give it a lil smell. Also leave the chicken liver out over night before you fish the Stinky smell will attract them
Dude… I did a bunch of testing on this. Rotten liver won’t outproduce fresh liver and rotten livers are softer so they don’t stay on as well. Also they are rotten as hell and more funky than Parliament. Nasty to work with and more dangerous from a health perspective. You get that Sam and Ella disease. 🦠 it’s good for a weapon though. Everyone will run from it.
Next time you go catfishing use some shrimp that is in the chickenliver the shrimp stays on the hook better than the liver and it's impregnated with the chickenliver blood! You won't regret it! Do it all the time!

Right on!!! Yeah with these stocked catfish they do feed differently opposed to wild cats so I have been trying to hone in on what the best bait is for them. Anchovies and nightcrawlers have been some of the best so far.
ON THE REAL: If you use FLOSS… tie it to the line above the hook first. Then it can’t get lose and fall in the lake and kill ducks, turtles, and other critters. It gets in the lake like fishing line…. Which is bad bad. Hope you use this tip. You will keep the same floss the whole time too and you won’t run out. 👍

You should buy them chicken livers and keep them out of the fridge for a week or so and they get real stinky. Here in Michigan they tear up the livers when you prep the livers. The stinkier the better.
@ItGetsReel I've used it on the Red River in Southeastern oklahoma with luck. Catching some shad or perch with a cast net will catch the bigger cat fish.
I ve tried chicken and beef. That beef does stay on better when casting. I put garlic powder on the beef liver. Wrap some line around the beef and chicken liver and get ready.
With those pay lakes, it all depends on what the fish are used to eating. If they are used to worms that is all you will catch them on. They won't hit anything else because that isn't what they are looking for. Liver works the best in creeks, rivers and larger lakes with lots and lots of fishin going on.

Nice video try using a smaller sized circle hook with the Chicken Livers & see just how that works? I've used the smaller sized circle hooks with the Chicken Livers & I've had some wonderful success. In fact, I don't even use the special wrap that you used in your video, yet I do thread the Chicken livers onto the hook as you did before you added the wrapping.
Not entirely true I have seen falcons go to work on pigeons but those ducks were eating everything I threw over there. It actually pecked at the liver but didn't eat it.

Wow the only perch we have out here is in the ocean but I have had the best luck with these stocked catfish with nightcrawlers and anchovies.
For 35 years I have always put garlic powder in the chicken livers and then let the livers sit over night. Catfish love it👍🏻👍🏻

I stopped using livers. It's never been really good bite on them for me. I only bring nightcrawlers and frozen shad. Both work great.

Beef liver tends to stay on the hook better if you can find them. I've been blessed with good fish on beef liver.

Have you ever heard of setting the hook.
You let to many go not setting that hook I would of had pole in hand
Anchovies mackerel or nightcrawlers worked for me. Never ever chicken liver.
Chicken liver has worked before for me but anchovies and nightcrawlers have been doing better.
