Think about it from the perspective of other people in the one piece world, luffy appears on the scene as a pirate and in 3 months has become one of the most notorious pirates in the world then suddenly him and his crew disappear for almost 2 years there’s rumors of their whereabouts but nothing confirmed and some believe they’re dead but then they suddenly reappear at the same island they disappeared from and a little over a month after reappearing luffy is an emperor of the sea. He’s been active as a pirate for a combined total of less than 5 months and he’s an emperor of the sea….
It helps answer that perpetual question people ask: "Why didn't the World Government take the threat Luffy represents more seriously and take him out sooner?" First, they were trying. Second... when? Sometimes these lunatics don't even stay in one place long enough for their log pose to work. And when you get there, you have to completely rebuild the whole village/town/*country*, establish the new government and figure out wtf just happened. And when you finish that, there's already two more islands reporting crackhead activity for you to investigate.

I personally know some healthy people who were short their whole lives until 16 years old and then they have their puberty late, which is pretty common as well. So, Coby is just that type of person who gets his puberty late. Luffy did call him a chubby little kid so this is a likely scenario.
After thought: This is the One Piece world so maybe this is just completely normal. Since we have seen other characters like shanks and roger having growth spurts in their 30-50 age range growing above 6ft tall. As we've seen shanks(15yo) was probably shorter than luffy in his flashback with buggy. Then in chapter 1 he was likely below 6ft and then now he's taller than 6ft. Young Roger from what we've seen in Rayleigh's little flashback he was short like at Ace's height. And at the end of Roger's life he was 9ft tall.

they got couple days travelling between island. Like they had to rest to recover their wounds, even if luffy had quick healing (We can see luffy can heal just from food) Others not likely. And those time between island and arcs. Toei used to put fillers like G-5 which last couple days and its make sense
i mean they should. their world is vast that it can take days to travel to a nearby island. also, they need down times to bond because it would be awkward for us to see strawhats willing to die for each other while just spending few days together or usopp being overly attached to merry

it stings but it checks out when you think about it. just off the top of my head luffy ripped out the mast, hina's fleet filled her with holes, bellamy split the keel, shura lit her on fire and broke the mast again, she fell out of the sky. let alone all the grand line weather and reckless sailing, she was only designed to do shopping around the gecko islands.

I think you're 100% right about the time skip. because the Japanese number poun for 656 is mu-go-mu & "mu-gomu/mugomo" means "rubber free" or "devoid of rubber". and for that time the world was rubber free lol

For my own mental, I imagine that years are calculated slower in the one piece world. Like what would be a year in our time would be 2 or 3 in the OP world. Bc there’s no way the 4 irl years were spent in wano was only a a few days for the crew

I don't like this, it would have been better if Oda mentioned it was weeks/months between arcs. Oda missed the bullet with this one. In my head, the crew has been travelling for much longer together.
While yes considering the size of one piece world sea travel should take longer but yeah it is just straight up facts that most arcs only take few days at best with Dressrosa and Wano act 3 taking less than 12 hours

Your first mistake was day 35 cause they had a four day party in Skypiea then you keep making mistakes. Also it took a day to land in the blue sea, long ring long land was also a day and Aokiji was also a day with a week break. So your day 42 should be day 48.
Next mistake day 119 is the night of the full moon the next full moon in 28 days or the attack on Onigashima would be on day 147 but you have it on day 136.
The end day you have is 144 but you miss 19 days so the real count should be 163 days.
Don’t forget that in arlong part is clearly shows that it’s a new day when luffy defeats arlong
Not really. Thousand Sunny was stated to be built on March 25th in its vivre card, so this timeline (at least up to water 7) is pretty much off by only that one day. Idk about the next ones

They travel on a ship. A sailing ship. On a planet much bigger than our own.
Time isn’t only passing in what we see, there are weeks of oceanic travel time happening here accumulating in some odd number of months that hasn’t been specifically outlined because, as Oda’s alluded to before, that part’s not important to dwell on.

A very very fast sail boat can do 6-8 knots. That's 300 KM a day.

How fast do people think sailboats move? Sailing across half the planet in two months when you’re also sailing to and stopping at islands for days at a time is literally impossible.
Putting real world logic in a world where you can have a rocket to that sends you're ship flying pretty sure it'll just be explained through some random logic as to how the world is.
@@DetoreVolfir The show has things like ship cooks, scenes of the crew fishing, and an aquarium on the sunny for a reason, it takes longer than three days to get from A to B. The marines have paddle ships, specifically because sail boats are slow as shit, the logic is right there in the series, sorry you cant separate it from the fantasy elements.

7:34 - I think a day passed here. Luffy lost in the evening, got saved by Robin in the night, and the Straw Hats arrived in Alubarna at dawn.
14:30 - I usually consider this to be a 6 days because we see 6 types of seas: Candy Rain, Sea Raccoon on normal sea, Circular Rainbow on normal seas, Serpent Currents, Normal Snow, Extreme heat... Tho I have seen people consider this a month...
20:10 - It's still the same day, Kuzan just sleeps all the time...
21:50 - I believe the journey from Zou to Tottoland takes 7 days, because Nami mentions that they packed a week's worth of provisions for their journey (that Luffy used all at once).
23:45 - Luffy takes 2 weeks to sail to Wano because there is a month gap between his fight with Katakuri and his fight with Kaido (both on Full Moons, Usopp confirms that the lunar cycle is 1 month long, and Luffy arrives on Wano 2 weeks before the raid). Also, this happens on the day of the Reverie as the events reported in the newspaper are from the previous day-- the day before the reverie. This means the straw hats spent 14 fewer days on their timeskip and the reverie started 2 months after the escape from WCI and on the same day as Luffy landed on Wano.
I think it’s helpful to note that, since the World in One Piece is 2-3x the size of ours, the days tend to last longer.

The thing that confuses me about the summit war was that the straw hats were suppose to re-group in 3 days to then set sail in Sabody. After everyone got seperated i remember (or think i do) that the SH were all stressed about getting back to Sabody in time until they saw Luffy's 3DX2Y tattoo in the newspaper so they then decided to train..? Right? Or am i remembering fully wrong. Because then it makes 0 sense as to how the time went from March 4th to May 5th, almost 2 months.. In that time some SH memebers could have 100% made it to Sabody but didn't 😵🤔

According to the latest calculations of One Piece world size, one piece planet is 8.9 times bigger than our sun. So, a day in OP world will be around 9.5 days of our earth. So, 3 or 4 days in OP world is almost equal to a month of our earth. If we calculate 19 years old Luffy ages with our earth timeline, his ages will be around 180 years old. 😂😂😂

Well the message that Luffy gave was 3D2Y and the 3 days started from day 58 (?) and since the paramount war took 41 days it does explain why the time skip is less than 2 years. Combined with the fact that the strawhats arrived on different days and possible time it might have taken to get back to Soabandy (leave earlier to arrive on time) it makes sence.
It sounds kinda crazy. In my headcanon, since real life sea travel in the pirate era often took up several days or weeks, I somehow always imagined at least a week or so passing between islands. Since entering the grandline and reaching sabaody is supposed to cover a travel distance of half the one piece globe, in real life this took a ship around a month of sailing on sea. The One Piece world must either be significantly smaller than ours or the sunny is just much more fast and advanced.

Alright so...for starters, I have issues with your post-timeskip dates. We we know two months pass between the Straw Hat's visit to Zou and the Onigashima raid, because there are 3 full moons between those two dates. I guess it's technically possible that the phases of the moon are different in One Piece, but as we've neither seen nor heard anything I cannot give this the benefit of the doubt. And before anyone says anything about multiple moons, I would ask that they provide even a single panel of there being more than one moon in the night sky.
Secondly, from May 10 to February 06 is not 656 days, it's 637 days. Even going from the date of separation, April 04, it comes out to 673 days. I'm hoping you could explain this discrepancy.
I have a theory that the days and nights cycle in the one piece world is longer than in our reality because their planet is 8 times bigger than our earth (CMIIW)
Carrot used the sulong form which can be used only on a clear full moon night and then the minks also used sulong on the night of war at wano which should be a full moon day which will make the journey and preparation from whole cake to wano of 30 days
