Michigan fan here, and can confirm that most Michigan fans hate Duke, mainly because of the 1992 title game. Also because Duke is usually Michigan's kryptonite in the tournament, and Michigan has never beaten Duke in an NCAA tournament game.

Uh does it occur to anyone that Duke is a great school and even the athletes are expected to perform in the classroom. They have more academic all Americans than most other schools

College basketball is much more exciting than the NBA. A much faster and more exciting post season, random upsets, different teams dominating every year, etc.

People hate Duke, because of Mike Kryzyewski!!! Plain and simple!!! I HATE COACH K!! Therefore, because I don't like Coach K, that makes me hate Duke!! Like him, or not, Coach K might be one of greatest coaches of all time, I will admit it and we all know that, but, I can't imagine what it would be like to play Basketball for him, though!! I heard that he is a drill sergeant, and he means business and he is strict! I saw Zion Williamson's 360 degree dunk last week, and as much as I hate Duke, that was something to see!! Also, I saw him play the other night against Wake Forest, and he must have scored 30-some points in that game. Playing for Coach K is not for everybody. Js.

I'm not too sure about college basketball not being big. Let me preface this by saying I'm Canadian so college sports aren't a big deal over here. But the handful of times I've traveled to the U.S during March Madness, mostly to visit family over Easter. Every hotel I stay at there's hundreds of ppl repping their college teams when I go down to get breakfast and that's all that ever plays on TV too.
