I have a feeling a team should pull a 2k move and get both the first and the second draft pick and pair up rj and zion. I mean they already have the chemistry and of course the talent. So why not?
Outside of doing something stupid, like if PHX trades Devin Booker for the #1 pick, teams simply don't have the assets to acquire two top 2 picks. I mean, if you're one of the teams whose is bad enough to finish in the lottery with a chance to win a top 2 pick, then you're not very good. I guess maybe the Knicks could do it, but then you're talking trade Porzingis for the other top 2 pick... Why do that? Anything short of a major young star like Booker or Porzingis, no other team sitting with a top 2 pick is going to deal it away when Zion & RJ are sitting right there. No amount of future draft picks will do it because those future draft picks are not guaranteed top 2 picks and the talent in future drafts won't be as proven as Zion & RJ already are... it's not a 2k move. It's impossible unless you want to trade a proven NBA young superstar for a college freshman.
Please, zion is better than jordan and Len bias in college. Zion can post up anyone in nba right now, Janis lebron Durant etc.drawing double teams. Harden is getting All calls and Zion won't, come on haters, quit hating
The '91 team finished 16th in the polls, were 11-7 in conference, and finished the year 24-8 with a cupcake non-conference schedule. This isn't even close; Duke without question.
Hell...this years Duke team would not have beaten the UNLV team Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Moses Scruggs, Anderson Hunt, and Greg Anderson..FOR REALS
Thank You!!!! I rocked with The Fab 5, But they were not the first to rep the culture. UNLV and before them Georgetown in 83-‘85 had that flavor (Even though their shorts were tight). And I think you got one of the NV cats name wrong. I believe it was Moses Scurry
They would smash that unlv, was a unlv fan and went to their camp and zion would dominate every team in history of game, wooden teams Bobby knight, calipari.chew on that.
@@cphartney23 that's ridiculous! They couldn't even beat the Duke team from that year much less the UCLA Kareem team...Nolan Richardson's Arkansas team..or the Shaq led LSU team
It's interesting as the current Duke team will never have to face an elite upper classmen led team. As all the best upper classmen are long gone by the time their senior year comes around. Hell, the University of Hartford which has a bunch of seniors on the team, gave them trouble, until their point guard got hurt. Imagine what a team led by Christian Laettner (probably a top 10 best college basketball players ever). Cherokee Parks was the #1 ranked high school recruit in 1991 according to HoopScope (the source that they use in this video). He couldn't even crack the starting lineup at Duke.

so much pressure on these duke kids, if they walk away with anything less than a chip people gonna hate. Fab five was just chilling and enjoying themselves, their fans support no matter what, unlike like today.
I was in high school when the fab five was rolling at Michigan and I’ve watched all of Duke’s games that I can. Duke definitely has the athletic edge, and the defensive edge, and I believe they could outscore anyone (oh and they are coaches by the best ever, Michigan had issues controlling their kids, much less having them play within a team unit) they are both great, and Michigan was first to do it at a time when freshman good enough to be in the nba were in the nba (usually). I can’t see a way in which (if possible) Duke would not not win at least 7of 10 games against that Michigan team.
I am fortunate enough to have been around to get to watch the fab 5, and I'm lucky enough to still be here watching and pulling for my Blue Devils today. What the fab5 did was unheard of, in those days 5 freshman starting was unheard of,not even thought about, completely absurd, but they did it and all though they didn't get a Natty they had great success. They changed the look and the feel of college basketball and if u was as lucky as I was and around to watch them play you know exactly what I'm talking about. I feel just as blessed to still be around to watch my Duke Blue Devils this year. They are both great teams with tremendous talent that play in completely different era's. Thats actually a virtually impossible way to settle it because it would require time travel, but good try. Fab 5s biggest contribution was that making fashion statements was more important than being clutch enough to win the tournament that should have been automatic for them. When I hear fab 5 the "fab" sounds like something the director of a fashion show would use to describe an outfit, who the fuck says fab?
@@ltzp2 Automatic for them? Damn your an idiot,. That Duke team they played was one of the best college teams of all time plus they were seniors and defending national champs vs 5 Freshman. If you can't wrap your head around that then gtfo.
They were legends for perpetuating the shitty, self-defeating attitude that any poor black kid interested in studying was "acting white" and that any black kid who achieved academic success was an "Uncle Tom."
2014 Kentucky Wildcats started five freshmen: Julius Randle, James Young, Andrew and Aaron Harrison and Dakari Johnson. They weren't dominant in the regular season but made it all the way to the NCAA finals, just as the Fab Five did. The Fab Five were literally embarrassed and outclassed in the NC. These kids really didn't live up to their hype. They had 8 losses in an inferior league that year too. The Duke players at the time wore T-Shirts during warm up that said "You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk?". That was a direct diss against the Fab Five.

I'd take the Fab 5 over any Freshman group. Duke freshmen are too soft, they're this generation players. The Fab 5 were physical and dogs out there. They would've feasted on these cupcake players.
You have to play the way the game is called by the refs. Basketball in the late 80s early 90s was played and called much different than the game is called today. Soft, really? Come on man. Every Duke player gets after loose balls, every single 1 of them will dive on the floor or out of bounds for a loose ball. These Duke kids are definitely not soft, not in the least little bit. @@realballer3824 You acting like the Fab 5 was undefeated lmao. Gonzaga is a good team that was full of upperclassmen and they lost by 1 point. They ain't going to lose again. It's impossible unless you want to trade a proven NBA young superstar for a college freshman.
hopefully the knicks do 😂😂😂
The one thing I like most in this video was the comment that coach K did.. just respect there!
Christian Lattner did not turn out to be God.
In college he was.. Dude was balling at Duke since his freshman year.
In college he definitely was...he was also an NBA all star and had a pretty long career.Guy was a stud
This nigga wasn't even Moses when he hit the league...smh
MarsRacingNetwork in college he was good the league hell no he was not that good
Please, zion is better than jordan and Len bias in college. Zion can post up anyone in nba right now, Janis lebron Durant etc.drawing double teams. Harden is getting All calls and Zion won't, come on haters, quit hating
Just watched the documentry thing yesterday and never knew this as a young kid im so glad I watched it🔥🔥🔥🔥
I agree with Jalen, but 8:00 made my heart stop a lil... Jesus Christ!!!
That boys elbow was above the rim, ridiculous hops!
Hol' up
The '91 team finished 16th in the polls, were 11-7 in conference, and finished the year 24-8 with a cupcake non-conference schedule. This isn't even close; Duke without question.
Hell...this years Duke team would not have beaten the UNLV team Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Moses Scruggs, Anderson Hunt, and Greg Anderson..FOR REALS
Agreed!
Thank You!!!! I rocked with The Fab 5, But they were not the first to rep the culture. UNLV and before them Georgetown in 83-‘85 had that flavor (Even though their shorts were tight). And I think you got one of the NV cats name wrong. I believe it was Moses Scurry
You out of your fucking mind the lost to Gonzaga. Wtf
Sounds like the fab five cant let go that there not big deals anymore. Just admit the young bucks are absolute awesome talent
Rj Barret would put 81 on Jalen Rose
@xtraplays123456789 cant tell him to shut up if its true😂😂😂
xtraplays123456789 I have nothing against fab 5 but putting 81 on Jalen Rose would be deja vu..
@xtraplays123456789 I never lived when they were playin but I knew who they r so dont judge on my opinion😂
You stupid ass old heads don’t realize we can watch tapes and look at stats and shit
0.48 alley oop with complete windmill in transition 😵😵😵
It's interesting as the current Duke team will never have to face an elite upper classmen led team. As all the best upper classmen are long gone by the time their senior year comes around. Hell, the University of Hartford which has a bunch of seniors on the team, gave them trouble, until their point guard got hurt. Imagine what a team led by Christian Laettner (probably a top 10 best college basketball players ever). Cherokee Parks was the #1 ranked high school recruit in 1991 according to HoopScope (the source that they use in this video). He couldn't even crack the starting lineup at Duke.
Top 10?, man Laettner is arguably the greatest college basketball player of all time lol
@@ezekielrage7590 I still have Alcindor, Walton, Bird, and Pistol Pete ahead of him. Most clutch of all-time, Laettner wins easily
@@alexh8613 Clutch is all that matters in the big games.
@@christschool Robert Horry is clutch, but I wouldn't put him in the all-time greats category. Laettner was clutch, but those other players were significantly better
@@alexh8613 Robert Horry? Really? No, the other players were not better. Go to a stat page on that team. I'm guessing you're under 40?
so much pressure on these duke kids, if they walk away with anything less than a chip people gonna hate.
Watch his touch at free throw line, standstill three point shot, post up game, off ball and on ball defense, rebounding above rim.
Jalen Rose got some new targets to hate on.....
There is no way to give them an HONEST comparison. So I say stop with the nonsense comparisons and sit back and watch a Duke team that is undeniably 1 of the most talented teams ever and enjoy. 🔵😈4life. Go Duke!
Bull City Baby!!!
Basketball was alot more physical and the competition was stiff back then.
But there's still defense in the NCAA
Ken Fulton {Baby Elder} bro the competition is even more stiff today cuz more players r going to college and players r getting better. The fuck r u talking about
@@aaronsutton2956 exactly this fuking idoit are stuck in the past basketball has changed there so many better players then back in the day another thing this fuking idoits dont get is that just because it was physical dont mean they had good defense
kevin jjj ok go watch some of those games back then and you will definitely see there is a difference. Wasn’t lil ticky tack fouls they actually let you play. I know wtf im talkin about
@@Kenxclout u stupid yall say the same shit about the NBA go check stats and u will see that its literally the same fuking shit except steals because back then the ball handlers were fuking ass
Best all around basketball talent in college history enough said. Don't comment or react just keep watching the stud Zion
Isn't jalen rose the dude that Kobe dropped 81 on?
It’s funny how everyone knows that but no one can name the same thing on Wilts 100
LMAO
Shoe-ters 23 because wilt played against all bums
Lazo Fire yea I guess that’s true but do you get my point
@@shoe-ters2312 im still not believing he scored 100 if he did that means they played no defense
No one on any Duke squad after 2010 is touching the Fab Five, EVER.
DUKEEE i live about 30 mins from durham, carolina fans ill this year😂
They not Ill. They break out the Duke jerseys from the closet... Just like y'all have ur unc jerseys hanging up just incase... A state full of flip floppers
@@dc7236 thats defn not true you obv. know nothing ab this rivalry ive never worn anything with unc on it in my life and my buddyz that are unc fans have never worn anything witg duke on it. spend some time in NC and youd know what you said is just dumb. no disrespect
I'm not here to debate but man being from Detroit them two years were great ...I was young but not dumb...I remember skipping school because they drew a 12:00 noon opening game...was a great time for sports in Michigan....
Easy way to settle it. 10 years from now the Fab 5 will still be well know and this years Duke team will just be another team. Fab 5 changed the game.
Gu gu bk hi uh jjnjsjsn bbn.nonp
@@ltzp2 Automatic for them? Damn your an idiot,. That Duke team they played was one of the best college teams of all time plus they were seniors and defending national champs vs 5 Freshman. Stop blowing things way out of proportion to fit your own narrative. They were an excellent team on the court and changed basketball and the culture around it forever. If you can't wrap your head around that then gtfo.
@@evandigiovanni5452 they were trash
You can't compare no team to the fab 5! The game is way different now and those boys was legends!
They were legends for perpetuating the shitty, self-defeating attitude that any poor black kid interested in studying was "acting white" and that any black kid who achieved academic success was an "Uncle Tom."
Well if they know how many time outs they have... they win already
2014 Kentucky Wildcats started five freshmen: Julius Randle, James Young, Andrew and Aaron Harrison and Dakari Johnson. They weren't dominant in the regular season but made it all the way to the NCAA finals, just as the Fab Five did. (They actually had a sixth McDonald's All-American, Marcus Lee, in addition to the the five aforementioned.)
The Fab Five were literally embarrassed and outclassed in the NC. These kids really didn't live up to their hype. They had 8 losses in an inferior league that year too. The Duke players at the time wore T-Shirts during warm up that said "You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk?". That was a direct diss against the Fab Five.
fab five did so much more for basketball. When they played basketball wasn't as popular as it was today.
Do any of u know what instrumental is used between 0:00 and 0:38?
The fab 5 is legendary they didn't win a ring and still are most famous group of young men to play together they changed how NBA pro athletes dress til this day
*I hope Zion goes to ATL & gets matched up with Trae & whoever the Hawks take with DAL & OKC’s pick🔥*
that would probably be a good fit style wise and, as a humble kid, Zion would probably do well being fairly close to home--from South Carolina I think.
@@mike2687 Yeah he's from South Carolina
mike collins Zion humble? Seriously?
@@danakaleb4882 - seriously... He's a beast on the court but he carries himself well in every interview I've seen thus far--mature, grateful, happy and humble--haven't heard anything yet that that would make me think otherwise, seriously.

WHAT THE HELL WRONG WITH YOU
It’s wild seeing the gym at Apple Valley High school knowing that I played badminton there a few months ago
Bro why can't I find RJ getting dunked on anywhere
Duke's Fab 5 knows how many time outs are left!!! Right Chris Webber??? The Fab Five didn't just have a Duke problem, they had a UNC Tarheel problem too... 92 champions Duke. 93 champs UNC...
Gimme the fab five 7 days a week
Arian Christopher Man please my duke boys washed them in 92
@@clarkjonathan702 you own Duke do you? Dude, that was a senior and all American laden team Vs 5 freshman. Defending champs at that. The fact that UM hung around was impressive.
Joe Jackson x Ike turner Tax time pimp the 92 duke team would beat this current duke team
Arian, so you'll take the losers?
Timeout! Oh wait
Zion @ 8:00 insane!!!
I'd take the Fab 5 over any Freshman group. Duke freshmen are too soft, they're this generation players. The Fab 5 were physical and dogs out there. They would've feasted on these cupcake players.
J Bossalini depends what era we’re playing in. In today’s game fab 5 wouldn’t be able to use that physically and would foul out by haft time
You have to play the way the game is called by the refs. Hey haters are gonna hate though right?
Look....I'm a HUGE Duke Fan and have been since the 91-92 Season.Ever since "The Shot" by Christian Laettner in the Regional Semifinals against Kentucky I've been a Diehard Duke Fan.This is not even a discussion though. The Fab 5 are by far and away the better team and had the bigger cultural impact on College Basketball. The only thing fantastic about this Duke Team is Zion Williamson. One man cannot carry an entire team.Michigan was loaded and had 3 players who carried that team in Chris Webber,Jalen Rose and Juwan Howard.ESPN has bumped their head on this one. This shouldn't even be a serious question 😂
Why is unlv forgotten about when it comes to setting the cultural trend
unlv wasnt all 5 freshman larry johnson was a juco player of the year then became a college player of the year...unlv influence Michigan nobody knocks them anderson hunt was big for jalen and webber
Ty ... I agree
The 1990 UNLV should be honorably mentioned.
Pause @8:01 HOOOOWWWW!!! He is 275lbs
KobethaGOAT Bryant exactly lol....what player on the fab 5 is guarding that guy 1-on-1 or in the open court? Duke would destroy them
Fab 5 that cashmere fan 5 jackets Still rocking it to this day
Fab 5 would rek duke because fab 5 played in a time were there waz defense
No comparison are u kidding me....I'm so tired of folks trying too compare the legendary greatness of different generations instead of saying this is what started it all
Jah’s squad in 2014 with Cook, Jones and Winslow was a far better team than this one.
Y'all did Joey Baker dirty in this vid.
Peyton list 😂😂😂😂 OK😂😂😂😂😂😂 bruh
I agree with Jalen when he said could this team beat the 91-92 Duke team that beat them. Now we can talk. Couldn't stand the Fab 5, but they were fun to watch. LETS GO DEVILS!
Duke is good but not better than the Fab Five 💪
Bullshit, Duke is 10x's better
As an old ass man I watched both teams with the same enthusiasm. Right now, the duke team looks just a little bit better.
But can you beat Carolina, CAN YOU BEAT CAROLINA. #TAR HEELS. yes I'm yelling. Go HEELS
Lmfaoooooooooooo
Fab 5 was so hard they will never be duplicated i use to look at Iverson at Georgetown and u could see their influence
Anyone after the MSU loss LOL
The Fab Five made a university basketball team an International icon before the Internet was commercially viable. As an Aussie, I heard about the Michigan Wolverines before I knew all of teams playing in the NBA.
None of the Duke freshmen would call a timeout they didn't have.
They was some bad boys.. but they ain’t beating this new Duke Fab 5.. these boys jumping out the gym.. 💯
Fab 5 would get demolished by the Blue Devils!!!
Nope can't even get to the championship game in this watered down CBB
35 years old. growing up in metro Detroit the Fab is the reason i am a Michigan fan over Michigan State
Fab 5 will smoke them boy's all game they don't want that smoke period
Lmao 4 of the Duke players will get drafted in the first round as freshmen. 3 in the top 5. Webber and Jawun only ones drafted top 5 not as freshmen. Jalen wasn't good in the NBA. Jimmy went second round. Ray didn't even get drafted. At the end of the day the Duke players will have better careers, I'll take Duke's 5 over Fab 5 any day.
+Wither so you going to compare how good a player is by were they get drafted 😂😂😂 these are 2 different eras of basketball and let's be real if duke lost to gonzaga what makes you think there going to be the fab 5 😂😂😂
@@realballer3824 You acting like the Fab 5 was undefeated lmao. Gonzaga is a good team that was full of upperclassmen and they lost by 1 point. They ain't going to lose again. I'm comparing how good a player is by draft because it shows if NBA teams actually want the player and if they can contribute in the bigger leagues. The whole point of college ball at an elite level is to prepare for the draft. I guarantee you more Duke players will have better careers than the fab 5 and if they win the national chip they are definitely better than the Fab 5 lmao. Fab 5 played in a shit era where players weren't as good so they had to stay 4 years and they still couldn't win lmao even after staying multiple years.
+Wither key word if lol just like when you said duke is not losing again in your opinion 😂😂😂
+Wither and you said I guarantee you there going to have better careers you know how many people said that same statement and there favorite player was just a role player or even in the nba you league 😂😂😂
No way that Duke freshman team could've beat the Fab 5. That team was so transcendent, and actually made it to the national championship game...debate over Fab 5 were better
the fab five still didn't do anything except affect culture
You’re right, wins are all that matter in life. Spoken like a true 21st century sports fan
2.1M followers and the whole Fab 5 couldn't even match that in there best year. But, I do give them credit for leaving a legacy and displaying a change.

2. Zion
3. RJ
4. Cam
5. Rose
6. Juwan Howard
7. Jimmie King
8. Ray Jackson

You must have missed the opening. Using all the stats this Duke team would win by 7 points. The fab 5 LOST 8 games their Fresman year.
@@mitcharney1 A big reason is because they were 18 and 17 year old kids playing against 22 year old "should have been" NBA players. The current Duke teams are just playing other 18-19 year old players. And kids worth a damn after 18 in this era are in the NBA.
