Would you consider creating a UA-cam video on the websites of those that created their websites based on your tutorials? You could then ask people to comment on what could be improved. Then you will give us your input. I redesigned my site based on watching your videos. I'm still fixing a few issues.
@@WesMcDowellInc My pleasure. wanted to let you know that I revamped my website by immersing myself in numerous videos you've created, and I believe that I did a decent job of it. I appreciate what you teach us.

Hi Wes, love your content and just want to say I appreciate all you put out! Was wondering if you would do a video on how this layout would workout on the mobile version of our websites. Like how to structure it given the vertical/scroll down nature of the mobile devices with limited horizontal estate.
Hey Domingo - thx for watching! 😀 👏 My longer tutorials include sections about making your site responsive for mobile. See these two videos: ua-cam.com/video/OupzJrhh3Fo/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/8VL8MwaHzJE/v-deo.html
Hi Wes! Your videos are so helpful, thank you! Just wondering what your advice would be on using a full hero design with a hamburger pop up menu navigation over the standard sticky navigation? My assumption is that it would be easier with the standard but I see alot Hamburger menu websites!
Hey Candace! I think a hamburger's a fine place to put your "extra" pages that don't lead to a conversion, but I'd always put your top 4-5 pages out on display. Obv I'm talking desktop, pretty much everything will be under that icon on mobile. Cheers!
Hi Wes, Amazing content, I'm now confident to do this myself and have just signed up for Calendly. Keep up the great work, it's certainly adding value to my business and giving meaning and direction to our on-line proposition.
Wes, what are your thoughts on having both a "schedule call" main conversion button and a chatbox? Does the ease of asking a quick question in the chat box reduce the number of bookings?
No, I actually like a chat feature bc most people are willing to use one way before they're willing to call you or email you. SO its good for some initial engagement. Cheers!
I just found you and subscribed and signed up for the free masterclass. I am in the works of creating my own copywriting business and am currently helping 3 small businesses write content for their websites. I have written web content in the past (that are no longer live). However, your ideas and suggestions breathe in "fresh and leveling up"! Thank you! I have a question for you. You mentioned writing the home page like no others exist and putting "second hand" information at the footer like "team bios" or "history", etc. What is your advice/opinion on drop down menus when you click on the navigation bar for a page (say, the About page, and there's a down down menu with team bios and/or history)? Is that still viable, or a website no-no from the past?
Hi Wes! Thanks for your very informative video! I'm putting a quick presentation together for my class and would like to use a small blurb from approximately 18 sec to 42 sec. Can I have your permission to use it? I've saved this video to review later as you had some great tips and I want to refer back.
I just tested your personal website through Google PageSpeed. Performance scored a 26 for mobile and 56 for desktop. Probably because you built your page with Elementor and have a bunch of unnecessary JavaScript. Doesn't this hurt SEO and conversion if the website doesn't load fast? Especially for mobile (which scored a 26) since a majority of web traffic is on mobile devices. I'm guessing all the bloated code that comes with elementor makes it harder for web crawlers to analyze and index the web pages. This impacts UX as well. Like if a user is browsing through web pages and something takes a while to load, they lose their patience (probably because our attention spans are so squirrelly now thanks to the internet) so we only have a split second to grab their attention with the "above the fold" content - but if the page loads slowly... then you kinda already lost them, right?
It popped right up for me! Honestly I worry a lot less about those scores than how fast the top section loads up. AS long as it loads fast before people have a chance to scroll down to the rest, you're good.
@@WesMcDowellInc Did you empty the cache before loading the web page? If you're revisiting a site that's already been cached by your browser then it'll load faster because it stores all the web resources into your local storage. If you empty the cache and try reloading the page you'll get a better insight into what the actual user experience is like for first time visitors.
@@WesMcDowellIncI have same problem with Wix. The insights it doesn't do great but there's other metrics Google uses. Time spent on the website probably helps slot with SEO ranking. Btw I'll be using your Instagram and plan this week so thanks for that.
Hey Wes, thank you for your video. If I want to qualify leads before letting them book a meeting, what should I do? If I get visitors to book directly I fear I am going to be wasting a whole lot of time with people not ready to buy my services. Thanks!
I'd just ask a qualifying question or 2, whatever would help you decide if they're a good fit. then jsut email the bad fits back and cancel the meeting.
