You start letting them pick at feed long before they are ready to take care of themself. By the time they are old enough, they already know how to pick up and swallow grains quickly and efficiently.
i have a lot of white pigeons at my house! xD and there's a nest on top of my roof, but then yesterday...one of the baby pigeons fell down..couldnt fly yet =(..so im taking care of it! =D

I ask because I had a small box on my balcony. I moved it and a pigeon flew out. There is nothing else in the box. The adults are on my balcony railing but I don't see the younger one since flying out the box.
@sanazhm so shell lay another nest of eggs, and they are only right bellow her so she wont feel like she lost them. in the wild the parents have more than one nest and they leave the babies alone most of the day when they are old enough to stay warm themselves, and they hatch new babies but they return just to feed the old ones.
so why watch it then. Pigeons mean something special to a good Pigeon Fancier like this chap on the vid. He has some lovely birds. I suggest you don't put comments like this. Pigeons flew in the war and saved 1,000s of soldiers lives american and english

I just leave mine to wean themselves with their parents, they soon leave the nest on their own and the hen will not let them back in.
If you want the next batch from your hen this is what you do. You'll probably get a time and half more pigeons this way at least.
