So one of the cooler things I see with this: There is no need to show off in this song. You dont get out of the pocket in fills and you keep within the groove to really keep the flow of the song. During the build on the toms I was expecting some transition fill that would have given a good climax and you just stopped, let the release happen almost where is was disappointing but in a good way, the song just allowed to exhale, then you came back into the groove, sat in the pocket as the song faded out. Good choice of cymbals for this, with nothing that is overbearing. A fat hi hat, trashy vintage sounding crashes that explode and get out of the way. Just a good sound and a good way to show off how to be in the groove without being out of the pocket.

finally something where there is actually music i"d listen to, not just a random loop and chops like most meinl artists.
Yo what are you talking about? There's so many amazing Meinl artists like Benny Greb, Jost Nickel, Matt Garstka, Mike Johnston, JP Bouvet and soo many more.
This kind of drumming is pleasant and palatable; someone who doesn't play drums might be more inclined to like it. If you had any real sense, though, for this instrument, you'd understand that those "loops" with lots of chops and improvisation are moments for a drummer to make the music. In this video, the drummer is playing with or for the music. If you can't appreciate a drummer being the music, you just don't have that natural inclination to drums.

Always so wonderful to watch an extremely talented drummer not over play a track, and keep it tasty.
Came for the cymbals… stayed for the cymbals, the drums, the song, the playing, the sound, the technique, the fluid motion, the grooves, the fills, the sticks, the heads… so much so that I liked, subscribed, and will be binging Adam’s playing for the next week… this is absolute 🔥🔥🔥 and I’d love a drumless track of this song…
I own most of these cymbals and it never stops amazing me how well they fit in to so many different mixes. These literally are perfect cymbals.

I have that same 19" extra dry. It sounds like sex, but it's pretty quiet and you gotta hit it pretty soft or it rocks all over the damn place. However, I've ended up having a great time familiarizing myself with it's qualities and incorporating it into my sound!
