A camera isn’t going to stop someone from walking out the door with stolen merchandise. I work in retail and the biggest jump in theft happened when the company I work for started a “scan and shop” program that allows shoppers to to scan merchandise and food with their phone, hopefully paying for it when they leave by scanning their phone at a register. Except people walk out the door all the time without doing that and our short-staffed employees are too busy and pulled in fifty directions to notice. A few days ago I noticed a woman pretending to scan and shop without a phone-she was just putting items in bags in her cart which she would then walk out the door with for free. When I informed a manager she basically shrugged. We used to have in-store security that she could have called….in-store security used to catch many shoplifters by pretending to be customers and following them to their cars and then taking a license plate photo…then they had all the footage they needed from in-store cameras and parking lot cameras. But they did away with in-store security years ago…No one wants to pay humans anymore-wherever companies can replace humans with technology they will. It doesn’t work. Our new inventory and stocking system is also now AI generated and it fails miserably in keeping the shelves full. But greedy corporate desk sitters continue to cut corners by cutting employees out of the budget. There are already cameras all over Walmart… body cams are going to capture very little useful footage. What a waste of money.

This is all about controlling employees. Walmart does not care about their employees and never has
Good
I was assaulted by a worker & the footage conveniently wasn't recorded
If they ask to see your recipient...just tell them to check the bodycam!
😂😂😂💯
“Sir come back here! Sir!” *Walks out*
Welcome To 1984s BiG Brother. Cameras are now everywhere!!!! Homes, stores, parks.
🤣🤣🤣 “volunteer basis” that’s how it all starts.
The only thing missing now is every product sold having body cameras. 😂😂😂
Yes Shelia I've been reviewing your camera footage and I'd like to discuss your work ethic
We are always being recorded at Walmart this is so they can pull footage and say work harder or why was your bathroom break 10 minutes. Not a thing to do with theft at all
Customer service will go up.
They trying to take every last bit of freedom an employee has…
😳🤦🏾♂️ Good lord😒
This makes no sense. They have cameras all over stores. This isn’t about safety. Absolutely BS.
THIS IS PUTTING THOSE EMPLOYEE AT RISK
