  • How many hours do you spend in bed every night? I know many sleep-deprived individuals who spend extra time in bed in the hope of getting more sleep.
    Unfortunately, they don’t realize that doing so depletes their sleep drive and diminishes their chances of sleeping soundly.
    In today’s video, I dive into how the body's sleep system functions with the body clock and your sleep drive working together to produce sleep.
    Your body clock controls when you feel sleepy and when you feel alert.
    The system governing sleep drive balances sleep and wakefulness throughout the day.
    Understanding how these two systems work can help you choose behaviors that support a good night’s sleep.
