one thing that might have been nice was putting the coordinates for the temple in the description. :) That way cheese for brains people like me won't have to rewatch the whole video to find them.
Here is a good tip nooblets seemed to have missed, if you use cactus broth you won't spook him, and you wont aggro anything while you tame him, makes the whole thing very easy. Same for any other passive tame in the game, so few people use cactus broth but its extremely powerful. You can also just spam a wooden cage on him to keep him in place and build a stone structure around it to keep him safe.
Finally someone who doesn't tame it on creative with very taming rates and says it's super simple to tame. Thank you have been struggling for hours using other guides.

@@zbychulatara I had no chitin on me, otherwise I would have certainly tried taming it right then and there. They land beside you if you crouch/lay down near them regardless of your inventory. I have heard chitin armor does make them aggro you tho.
This is the most realistic taming method Ark has to offer, really liking this. And ofc thx alot Steve for making a good and thoughtfull video on how to. You re the best when it comes to Ark taming videos on youtube
Ikr? This method is very refreshing and immersive, feels like I'm actually bonding with it. Also, taming the Amar is very frustrating at first, but it's also pretty realistic and feels like a genuine and hard-earned bond.
If it runs out of stamina in the air it parachutes its wings to get you down safely. Also the scare works on small creatures, not everything. Hyaenodon seem to be the biggest. It has ×10 damage to insects and as far as I have seen, my tamed lvl 10 (leveled to 20, just stamina) can one shot meganeura, ants and leeches with the scare.
I think your style of teaching folks how to tame critters on ARK is the absolute BEST. You're the first person I've seen give clear and precise examples of what NOT to do, and narrating your thoughts behind everything is absolutely entertaining. Thank you for doing what ya do!
It's probably also been said, but two others things the Sinomacrops does is if you hit X it'll act as a parachute, and if you are flying up and it runs out of stam, it'll automatically go into parachute mode as you "fall" back down
Like us on consoles? 😂😂 yea it’s gonna suck. I really wish me and the others like me that have consoles could get the mods and Dino tracker would open up a whoooole new play time for us
I found I could use a wooden cage to keep it by and still tame. I just lure it down on flat ground then just sit in the cage the entire time feeding and it seemed to work.
I found 30-40 meters specifically to be the ideal range to show you were offering to feed, sometimes a tad less. I didn't think about the "higher distance over 50% taming" thing, but it makes sense, they got more unpredictable it felt like the farther along I got. Thanks for the vid!
I love the way this game works, the way the animals have their own characters, and how different much to learn the gamers who designed and made this game are amazing.
Thank you Steve. Your videos are the next level of understanding, all the know-how and full mastering of dino taming any Ark player needs. You're nothing less than a legend.
I know these new taming methods are pretty frustrating, but once you get the hang of it it's actually very cool and refreshing. You aren't brutally sticking it with tranqs and feeding it until it loves you, you're not handfeeding it at a petting zoo, you're actually bonding with it and it makes sense. The passive tames make sense too, but I like that this animal has a personality and a level of intelligence. It makes the game much more... real?
Thanks so much, on my single player world i spawned one in and thought it was cool, but when i tried to tame it, i failed. Seeing that YOU posted a video made me happy, since other youtubers dont explain they just tell you to feed it
Thanks for this! I kept chasing it, and wondering why the taming didn't work. Subscribed after watching this vid-the time you take to make these videos and explain in real time how to do things is SO much appreciated!
As far as taming mechanics, another thing you want to watch is that you don't touch them, even when they land and come up to you. This will cause them to go into the same panic mode as when you chase them and get too close. Thus, it is always a good idea to crouch when you feed them and even back up a little bit when they accept the feed so that they have room to clear you when they take off. As mentioned in the video, just don't back up too quickly or too far because that, too, can panic them. For that same reason, be aware of the terrain when they approach you. The basic mechanic is that they will fly a specific distance from you, land, then hop the rest of the way towards you. From my observations, it appears that the distance from you where the landing animation kicks in is based on proximity to you and altitude. This distance is ideal for when you are standing flat ground. If, as with many of the feedings in the video, you are on a slope and they have to land above you, that is okay because they will be closer to the ground when they go to land. However, if you are on a slope and they have to land below you, this can create a problem. This is because the land is falling away from you in their direction so it will take them much longer to land, meaning they will keep moving towards you as they are trying to land. This, in turn, risks them getting too close or bumping you before they touch down, either of which can trigger the panic mode. Even if they do land and you are able to fed them, you will be on the slope above them when they take off. This means there is, again, a greater chance they will bump into you as they leave causing them to panic. If you cannot avoid them being on a slope with them below you, be prepared to back up some to give them room to land. Also try to move away from them at an angle so that you are not just moving up the slope. Just remember to not move too quickly or for too long as this can also spook them. In either case, if they are on a slope below you, you really need to be crouched when you feed them and move back as they take off to make sure they have room to clear you.
I know im a year late but dude, your a great channel. Everytime I get a new dlc (since I’m a Nintendo player) I always come to you to see what I need to trap and tame dinos. And better yet, you arnt in creative mode doing it. Even if lost island isn’t available on switch yet , thanks. So much. ❤
I was trying to just run up to it and feed it, and at one point tried to bola it and was pretty funny. Then I was attacked by an army of leeches. I love your channel
it takes years to tame high level and (in my case) the sino attacked other dinos or got attacked during the process multiple times, which reseted the taming to 0 everytime. at the end i got angry, put a dart in it and build a cage around it :)
Finally realized why i was having trouble... lol. When LI came out, i had a base at spirit falls, where they spawn like crazy. So i didn't need to be patient. I just fed whichever one would land in my yard. This new playthrough I'm doing I'm based elsewhere and couldn't distract myself with crafting/building/breeding/basework 😂
I don't know if the taming multiplayer affects the attitude of the organic glider but when i tried to tame it it allowed me to feed it only when wearing ghillie armor and crouching.
Here’s a tip… use a wooden cage. Open the door and slowly back up to the back and close it on the sinomacrops and start taming. It’s the easiest passive tame in the game that way.

The signal that it's ready to eat again might be that it lands. It won't land if it's stuck in a wall ofc, but if it's free to fly and lands, you might try approaching to within "hearts range", which looked to be about 30 meters. Another question might be "what is the food that gives it the most food value?"
