- The Star of Munster and the Maid Behind the Bar
Performed by Tony McManus & Julia Toaspern
Featured in this recording (played by Julia Toaspern) is the Greenfield G5, also known as "Mini G". Inspired by the C.F. Martin size 5 from the turn of the last century. Great for fingerstyle players as well as singer-songwriters who like to play capoed at the 5th fret or higher. Because of its very small body size, the G5’s voice brings an exciting timbre to your music!
The G1 (Tony McManus) is quick to respond to even the lightest touch and it lends itself well to many different styles of music. It has a very focused yet open sound with a tight responsive bass, transparent mids and thick, clear, ringing highs. While primarily a fingerstyle guitar, it is also superb for light strumming, acoustic jazz and even classical repertoire.
Information about the G5 & G1 models played in this video, as well as my custom order guitars, is available on my website at www.greenfieldguitars.com
Recorded with KM-184 style mics and a PreMix-3 Sound Devices Recorder.
Seamless and boppin'-- greatness you two!
Her flatpicking is amazing, the attack, the choice, the triplets… just very very good :)
Beyond beautiful!!
Simply stunning
That was the most beautiful conversations I’ve ever heard
Thank you both
Gorgeous!
I don't know much about guitars, but I know excellent music when I hear it! ❤
Yay! Real music!!
Amazing players, amazing instruments.

Incredible. LOVED the substitute chords. Totally cool. These two are so good.

Absolutely brilliant
Wow just wow
That transition is just delicious. Awesome.
Great version of this tune! Nice Work
Outstanding...This sent my mind sailing on an adventure back to the Summer of 1985 at Irish Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, listening to Stockton's Wing filling the night sky with The Maid Behind the Bar. Naturally, the crowd was going wild.
Wow!
Wow, knockout, you two are great. Love the Celtic double stops, absolutely brilliant. A good Northumberland piper might even be too much.
My god the mini G is such a great sounding guitar.
for 14k it better be
@@davidmiller9485 haha no kidding I thought the same thing. It has a lovely rich tone for being tuned A-A.
Wow
❤️little guitar
This is extraordinarily amazing. Absolutely brilliant. The Greenfield guitars are as good as you can get.
So true, but can you get one? I believe that they require a $3000.00 non-refundable deposit, and the price just goes up from there. Oh, well, maybe if that lottery ticket works out
best thing i've watched today
OOOOOOOOMG THIER SHREEADDINNGGGG
If I bought myself a Greenfield guitar I'd sound like that too right?? 🙄👍
Both really good musicians. I’m afraid I don’t know the young lady, I do know of Tony’s work. The guitars sound great, wish I could afford one. I like the G5 she’s playing, nice size for playing on the road. I visited your website, amazing craftsmanship.
Absolutely fantastic ! I'm desperate to get to the next level with my own playing so tab for this piece - both guitars - would be really really helpful , any chance TM? Also is there any tab for Maids of Mitchelstown, the version you recorded at this location ?
message me via facebook TonyMcManusMusic ....we can sort this!
Dude tony himself responded lol that is so awesome. I’ve watched si bheag so mor all 551k times.
Bravo! Is that Tony's own G1?
yes it is! fabulous guitar!
Pretty sad Arty McGlynn never made a duo album with Micheál Ó Domhnaill.
At least this os great consolation 😺❤️
To the 1 thumbs down, you gotta live with it fool
Does anyone know what tunings they are in?
Pretty people playing pretty guitars
Damn, she is at least as good as Tia Files
Is she married? 💕
She's married to the sea
@@roachdoggjr1940 😹
I am wondering what would Tony think about that.
😛
When I asked that question I didn't know they were together.
They make a fantastic duet too.
