- Mornings at Bonny Doon and The Laird of Drumblair
Performed by Tony McManus
Featured in this recording is the Greenfield G5, otherwise known as "Mini-G". Inspired by the C.F. Martin Co. size 5 from the turn of the last century. Great for fingerstyle players as well as singer-songwriters who like to play capoed at the 5th fret or higher. Because of its very small body size, the G5’s voice brings an exciting timbre to your music!
Information about the model G5, as well as my custom order guitars, is available on my website at www.greenfieldguitars.com
Recorded with a KM-184 style mic and a PreMix-3 Sound Devices Recorder.
Finally the truth is out. I've always suspected Tony was a giant.
Quel jeu et quel son !!!
The most stunning thing I've heard and seen in a very long time.
Expert craftsman in complete harmony with a beatiful instrument.
An absolute pleasure, Thank you.
Beautiful! Love it!
What a beautiful voice she has, and in the hands of my favorite artist. I will have sweet dreams tonight.
Just lovely.
Beautiful in so many ways!
what a genius! I love!!!!!
Beautiful sound. This is lovely!
Beautiful instrument, beautiful playing...
Best wishes to you both.
Mesmerizing!!!
WOW
Wow, that's gorgeous, guitar and performance both!
What a beautiful sound. That guitar rings like bells.
Sounds better again in the flesh. Amazing sound and projection for such a little fella. TM's deft touch certainly helps it shine too
Astounding sound, and what a lovely piece of music (Paul H is smiling in heaven!)
Lovely playing and a very nice instrument makes for a winning combination!
Great Guitar... Great performance !
sooooo sweet!! love Celtic guitar❣❣
Greenfield guitar doesn't hurt either❣❣😱
T O N Y with that small g r e e n f i e l d is a HUGE SOUND!! awesome job!!
Michael, beautiful sounding instrument, and great to see and hear Tony playing your guitars! SO excited to meet you at Artisan this year....
There is something magic about a beautiful instrument and an excellent player....Although this is not my favourite style of music, it did in fact "knock me off my chair". Kudos to both the maker and the player. RC
Great stuff.
Thank you, Mr. Greenfield, for having made such a fantastick guitar, manipulating the soundboard and other elements to make such a bewitchingly mandolinesque twilight sound.
This is just tremendous.
Beautiful sound recording :)
Ah, what bliss.
Pretty sweet stuff Tony!
Amazing tone
Want one!!!!
Thank you!
Tony🙏
amazing playing ..."The laird of Drumblair" is my favourite of all your tunes ...except for "Hector the Hero" and the "Easy Club Reel" ...
it looks like a parlour guitar, maybe even a tad smaller.. Beautiful clear sound..
its a baroque guitar actually. these were the immediate ancestor to the modern classical guitar!
What kind of microphone do you use to record the guitar in these videos? They sound amazing!
kind Tony can tell me what tuning he used and what thickness of cords for that instrument thanks
I can play every note on my left hand. Sadly, my right hand can't do any of this!
does anyone know if this is standard tuning or something else?
Welldone Tony! Please what's the tuning for this song on size5?
GDGCDG
Great playing and sounding! What is the scale of this guitar and the gauge of the strings please?
D'Addario light gauge. Scale length.....umm.....small?
mcmanustony Thanks a lot!
IIRC the guitar is the same scale length as if it it were a normal 25.5" guitar capoed at the 4th fret ... so the scale length on this G5 is 20 1/4", near as makes no difference.
murrmac thank you for these informations!
I would love to have the score to this song. Any ideas where might find it?
contact me via Facebook
I found it! GB(b)GBDG, isn't it?
GDGCDG
What are the strings?
D'Addario lights 12-54. Tuned GDGCDG
think its a nilone one
better than g 1.2 for celtic ...^^:::;;;;;
