    What an exquisite job! That is some of the most authentic-looking faux rust I have ever seen!

    Very convincing rust effect, and most interesting to watch it develop. I love the "noises off" with all the power tools etc. - somehow this gave the paint effect an even more steampunk grungey effect as it took shape in an industrial environment! Love it.

    That's like the most realistic rust I've ever seen !!!.

    I have watched this so many times so it is about time I commented on it. I miss the videos from you guys. I have never used monster mud in my rust but now I have it locked into my memory to do this. Thanks for sharing.

    @HauntedHotSauce We're glad you like the way we present haunted house how to
    videos. Glad you like the educational episodes. We have done wainscoting set design and dirty wall paper technique but have not produced a video on that yet. I'm sure we will cover that tutorial when we build that for the haunt in the future. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching haunt ventures.

    I use the same style spray bottle painting, but I use a garden pump sprayer. Makes it go MUCH faster & easier!

    Awesome job on the doors! It looks so good I'm thinking I should go that route for my doors to enter my haunt. Mine wouldn't come out half as good, but if I could come close than that would really make my front entrance. You guys are so talented! Keep the the great work. Oh and Melissa is such a hard worker and so creative!

    The doors are plywood with a phnumatic hooked to it to make it appear as though a zombie is trying to break out. the brick is made with foam using various tools to do that

    I too am curious how well this would hold up on a vehicle.
    If applying this to metal,should the metal be prepped,sanded and primered first?
    Love the idea of a rusty,old hot rod and if this would actually protect the metal while giving that look it would be even better.

    This is awesome. I've been going back and watching you guy's vlogs. I am really enjoying everything. Thanks for doing them! It's probably been asked, your you might have even said but if i may ask again, what are the doors and brick wall parts made out of ? Is it foam or plywood or?

    I don't have anything clever to say but I just wanted you to know how cool I think this is and how much I appreciate you taking the time to show us these techniques! I think I'll incorporate a rusty metal crematory door into my haunt this year because now I'm inspired! btw...I have two 4x8 ft panels that I'm hoping to add wainscoting and old dirty wallpaper to. Do you have a video about that?

    Save time, use a large natural sponge. The results are also more convincing.

    Nice effet, but what is the texture ine the first paint ? is it only paint and it is the brushing which gives the texture or there is an other thing in the paint ?

    If your whole haunted house has this attention to detail you can bring your customer into your world. There are so many other elements involved, but if you effectively implement them you can really get into someones head. We aim to scare at the Powerhouse of Terror Halloween haunted house in Toronto

    It would be super helpful if you had a paint color brand and color. For example, "Benjamin Moore Tudor Brown, HC-240" instead of just "brown". If you are making your own colors than "one tablespoon raw umber tint to 16 oz's of water. Thanks for taking the time to make this great video!

    If u just painted a thin layer on and used a roller over the top it will create the same effect.... but you are using too much of an orange. Go more for a maroon with a midtone brown and lighter brown with red accents..... much more convincing

      JayEdom please don't guitars are primed and waterproofed it will just ruin your guitar

    • @Kman.
      @Kman. 7 років тому

      Not sure what in the world you mean guitars are "waterproofed" :) 1st off, if you took let's say an electric, solid body guitar, it would matter NOT what you did to finish...on top of the COATED finish I might add. That being said, it would not RUIN it, and actually have no effect.

    this is one misleading video... the effect is super cool but this is one crazy messy process and takes for fkn ever

    • @Kman.
      @Kman. 7 років тому +1

      Hardly misleading at all. In fact, I just finished watching a faux finish by a professional who used a plaster of paris type product, and this video was off on the right. In fact, this is EXACTLY right up the same alley. I have no idea what "monster mud" is, but I'll search it out further. Her adding sawdust to it sounded neat as well.
