I have made potato salad with canned potatoes for years. I always made sure my husband saw me peeling a potato. He never caught on to my secret. I also use canned potatoes in my soup recipes. They freeze very good, unlike fresh potatoes that taste mealy once frozen in soup

I love sliced or diced potatoes in a can. I make fried potatoes for breakfast with them add ground red pepper, salt and minced onions. I’m from old school but being a great grandmother it’s hard to peel potatoes anymore with arthritis in my hands.

I love potato salad but live alone now so this is a great way to make a quick and easy version. However leave out the sugar!

I think I would cook the canned potatoes with salt and butter to help rid the canned flavor! 🥰

Sorry Mama Sue but those canned potatoes - in my opinion - have a strange aftertaste. Pretty easy to boil up some potatoes.

I agree, tried canned once & that was enough for us. Strange taste indeed. I use red potatoes for my potato salad, not much work for a good end result

I agree, but if you drain the can and add a little water back along with salt and butter then boil them for a few minutes it helps rid the canned flavor
