I'm happy to see you still posting videos. Watching them every week makes it seem as if you're almost a part of the family. I trust your recovery is going well, and hope to see you back on the road soon.
I see people on rigs like yours occasionally in our mountains in Colorado. These videos have made me seek to engage and hear their stories. Best to you on your journey.
I bonked on a much shorter ride. I wanted to have a big dinner, so didn't snack for awhile. It was a total effort to pedal and i fell into the weirdest depression. It finally occurred to me that it might be low blood sugar and i ate a snack. I could just feel the energy start to return, i was amazed at how simple my "cure"was
@@WheelsonaBike If you reduce your carbs, and increase your consumption of meat and eggs you'll feel a lot better. Carbs make you feel hungry again quite quickly. Hope you are feeling well, all the best. Greetings from Belgium.
Thank you very much for the tips. In my experience, the more balanced meals I eat, the better I feel. Carbs are sometimes a quick fix, but can't just all be about carbs.
Praying for a Speedy Full Recovery! Sad to hear of your accident and It is a major worry of mine in the Mississippi area I live. Thankful you are alive and will ride again. Blessings from South Central Mississippi and your new friend, Albert aka COPD Warrior 31
Another awesome video Agnieszka! I find it super helpful that you keep it real by showing ALL the ups & downs (quitel iterally), the full spectrum. I love how you are sharing your learning as you go with complete honesty and frank directness! Great insights on the mental aspect, butthatalso goes along with the food/fueling which you have figured out and shared. "Cycling About" UA-cam channel has mentioned that our Kona Sutra Touring Bikes are a bit under-geared for mountains. Glad that you fixed that with the help of such a reputable bike shop! I will definitely change mine if I wind up doing 'mountain climbing '. Thanks for the continued sharing of these amazing videos! Pedal On, strong (well fueled), Woman! May you continue to have many people sharing kindnesses and compassion as you wend your way assertively across this breathtakingly beautiful land!
I figure that I'd rather share the reality of my trip than sugarcoat the experience. It'd be easy to show the beautiful views and remove the tough times, but multi-month tours are full of tough times and it's a matter of overcoming the obstacles. Yes, agreed, Kona Sutra gearing is, in my opinion, under-geared for mountain climbing.
Good to see you have another video up but I'm worried about your recovery. Really really hoping you are making progress and regaining any lost confidence. Please keep up posted. Very best wishes to you
I have so much footage, so the videos will keep coming! Don't worry about thr recovery. It's going well and I'm glad to have medical care available to me.
@@WheelsonaBike Oh I'm so so pleased to hear that! You're great to be putting the videos out in the midst of all the healing you need to do. Thanks for taking the time to keep us all entertained while you recover!
Great video! Looking forward to seeing more of your journey. Hope you are continuing to recover nicely. Under-eating is so easier to happen, I find if I don’t have enough carbs I bonk easily. Carbs carbs carbs! Will you be continuing along once you recover? 🚴🏻♀️💜
That looks a like a composting toilet and really state of the art backcountry amenities. Very little smell vs old versions and a try luxury in the back country! recently subbed and love watching your vids
I'm not sure if it was a composting toilet. It had some sort of a liquid inside. Does that count as composting? I'm not up to speed on pit toilets. 😉 Thank you for subscribing. I appreciate it!
To help with climbing on a touring bicycle I run a 40-30-22 crank set and run it with a 11-34 cassette I can pull a heavy bicycle loaded up to the max with eas. It maybe a little slower but sure does help a lot.
I hope this means your journey can continue. I'm so happy to see you posting. I did notice in this video and in others that when you walk the bike you keep yourself between the bike and the road. I think you should keep the bike between you and the traffic. That way you can abandon the bike and jump off of the road if you need too. I'm sure you'll be rethinking your safety procedures going forward.
Yes, I walk the bike on my right. I tried walking it on the left, but I end up always dropping it as I can't seem to be able to balance it on that side. I'm afraid at this point, I'd cause an accident if I walked the bike on my left.
Like you , I have encountered many cyclists crossing British Columbia and Alberta. However I have seen many more foreigners on tours; a lot of Germans, Dutch, Americans of course and a sprinkling of Brits, Swedes, Norwegians, etc..
I really enjoy watching all of these videos she posts. If I was thirty years younger, single, rich, good looking, lived in Canada, and had a bicycle, I would chase her. 😆 🤣 😂
Great to see you going but I am aware the videos are behind just like mine. Agnieszka how is your recovery going after the crush, wish you all the best
@@WheelsonaBike good to hear. I was hit by a car on my bike in 2006 and spent 2 weeks in intensive care so I can relate. Hopefully we'll see you out there bak on the bike soon. :)
Thank you for continuing to watch the videos! Yes, I'm very glad for the change, it made a huge difference in the mountains and then again in the Ontario hills. Climbs are just that much easier.
Cycle-touring is probably the best diet-plan going! You eat 6 or 7 times a day....and still lose weight! I rode from Edmonton to Victoria in the summer of 2011. When I arrived in Victoria, my mother said I looked like a bone-rack! She was worried!! Ha ha ha.
Sorry - one last question - how do you go about keeping your phone and wahoo charged? Im thinking of getting a wahoo but hear it only runs about a day and that requires a lot of charge time or backup batteries for the wahoo, phone etc If you have a video on this or plan one then I can wait but curious because I want to take one on my first tour next month but do not want to have to spend everyday at a rest stop charging stuff? THanks
I have a power bank and charge both the Wahoo and my phone daily. I have a very old phone and it requires a lot of charging, even during the day, a large power bank is what I've been using and it's been fine. I actually have two, but only end up using one on regular basis. Both my power banks are from Anker and they've been great.
You need to eat more, especially protein and eggs to give you strength and stamina. Also keep hydrated and take in extra electrolytes especially potassium. Try to avoid processed foods with empty carbs, additives, preservatives all all sorts of other nasties.
I do not have children. I have a dog. My family is slowly getting comfortable with my bike travels, but I do carry a tracker so that it's always clear where I am.

I know others who do. 😁
I envy you .... it's such a wonderfull feeling being on the bike everyday on journey... mine was too short this year...
It really is. I'm currently on my second day off in a row and I miss rising my bike already.
