Regardless Of How Much I Squeeze Those Two Clips In And Pull...That Filter Door Will Just Not Open. I've Tried Over And Over...I Can't Get That Filter Door To Budge Even A Little Bit.
@gregsolomon I did another one the other day and it actually had a screw in each side holding the door in place. You can actually see in this video where they are supposed to be but aren’t there. Make sure those screws aren’t there, if they’re not present you just need to squeeze inwards on those tabs until the door releases upwards.
@@TalkingShop716 Thanks for the reply, I just checked it again, and no, there are no screws in it. I press those tabs inward until they're bottomed out, and that door just won't budge...it's enough to make a preacher cuss. I'm gonna figure out how to completely remove the glove compartment door, then hopefully it'll give me enough room to pry that filter door up with something as I push in on each of those tabs.
I just did it and it was hard to get the door unstuck. I eventually wedged my fingers between a gap in the plastic near the door and another plastic piece. I was able to pry up on the door and it opened. Indeed, as the poster said… it’s a tight box ! Haha
@@Basketballguy9530 I ended up removing the two bolts beneath the glove compartment that attach the hinges of the glove compartment door. That allowed me to push the glove compartment door down far enough so that I was able to reach in and grab that right side clip with a pair of needle nose pliers. Then, while pulling that clip inward, I began to pull outward on it. I was pulling outward so hard with those pliers, that I thought for sure that the clip would break...but the right side of that door finally popped open. I was then able to get a couple of my fingers in that opening, and while pushing in the left side clip with a finger on my left hand, I pulled upward...with a fair amount of force...using those two fingers in that opening...and the rest of that door finally popped open. I don't know why that door was stuck closed so tightly, but after I installed the new cabin filter, I used a q-tip and applied a thin film of vaseline around the entire perimeter of that door where it seats against the plastic edge of the filter housing before I closed the door...thus ensuring (hopefully) that the door will not get stuck again.
Thank you, from a fellow WNYer and GO BILLS!!!
Glad we could help! Go Bills!
