I love this version of Black Jack rather then all the others, The OVA was, in my opinion, was the best, it was darker, the animation was way better and the English voice of Black Jack was awesome. What was your favorite series of Black Jack?
Story and Designwise the OVA by far. I love the serious situation Black Jack gets caught up in. My critic on the OVA would be that it always plays out the same tho. There's a woman in distress falling in love and lots of guns. Usually a woman dies. There are a lot more things happening doing war that could have been tackled. From the diversity of quests, non-supernational approach and lack of being a ladies man I prefer Black Jack 21. I would have loved more content of a generally fun Pinoco who, while staying positive and cheering up Doc, struggles with being in a small body in a serious way. It must be tough never being taken serious as an aduly and bodily limited since the artificial body can't endure as much stress as a regular one. It is a huge psychological burden and, since she is an 18 year old, she could have processed it on a deep level that would have added a lot to the story imo. Identity, coming to terms with oneself, overcoming the self daubt and insecurity, standing up for herself and having serious conversations with Doc, even when he tries to shut her out because he is down or wants to protect her.
i love black jack, this OVA was my re-introduction being anime lover. I used watch ova in cable channel. i trying collect all black jack dvds. person who eng dub of black jack god tone serious doctor. hopefully someone going do blu ray edition of this anime. i want whole set

So far I'm enjoying young blackjack but I will check out the ova episodes after.

Ahhh! I was so upset that Viki removed all their non-Korean Drama stuff last year. It was only a few weeks after I finished Dear Brother.
I remember watching everything on Viki's youtube channel; I also remember seeing some sentence fragments in some episodes of the 1980's Astro Boy.
