    Fine tune your way to an accurate speedometer reading after large tire upgrades with the Superchips Flashcal F5! This system has a wide variety of easy-to-use options and has the ability to be upgraded if desired! www.extremeterrain.com/superch...
    Recalibrate the Speedometer. The Superchips Flashcal F5 is a recalibration tool designed to reprogram the stock computer to accurately reflect any drivetrain changes that have been made to a JK Wrangler. The sleek interface provides easy access to speedometer corrections to account for larger tires (26”-42”) or gear axle ratio modifications (up to a 5.38 ratio), TMPS and electric accessory changes and also serves as a handy engine diagnostic reader should any dash warning lights illuminate. If you have or will be changing the gears or tires on your JK, this tool is a must-have.
    Easy to Use. The Superchips Flashcal F5 makes recalibrating your JK Wrangler effortless. Simply plug it into the OBD II port and follow the on screen prompts. In 15 minutes or less, you can have your Jeep set up exactly how you need it.
    Important Note. This Superchips Flashcal F5 does not provide any engine tuning or performance options, it only provides parameters to recalibrate drivetrain changes and certain other electrical functions (ex: accessory and TMPS options). For engine tuning and performance, you need a Superchips Flashpaq, or you can purchase additional software from Superchips that will enable the Flashcal to tune your engine.

    I wanted to ask you a crazy question maybe you can answer 2017 jeep JK sport auto comes with a five speed right? but if you try to shift it manually it only show 1,2 and 3 why is that shouldn't you be able to shift 1,2,3,4 and 5 manually?

    Silly question, but if I’m only using this unit for the tire setting do I have to leave it connected to the sensor, or can I disconnect if those are the tires I’m running. If I don’t have to mount the system and leave it in the vehicle I would prefer not to! Thanks in advance if anyone can send a quick message! 🇺🇸🤙🏽

    Are all the tweaks permanent, or just while the programmer is plugged into the Jeep? Do you leave it plugged in and tucked away, or can you unplug it when you're done?

    Hi there. Thanks for the video. I just bought a 2016 2-door automatic JK, and (like many) I love everything except the transmission. It is sloppy in downshifting as well as upshifting in the low gears (once in third and above, cruising it is fine). In the low gears, in stop n' go, it's sluggish, and RPMs jump from 1 to 3000 and back with just soft-touch acceleration/deceleration. Keeping the Jeep factory wheels and 3.21 gear ratio as is, do people still find this product helpful with what I describe? It sucks buying a virtually new car (12,000 mi), and having to mess with the transmission, but this thing is a dog. Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks

    • @HardyHarz
      @HardyHarz 6 років тому +1

      Your gear ratio is really low, that's why it feels like a dog. It's geared for economy, not performance.

      Try recalabrating your throttle:1 turn key on but don't start jeep. 2 wait for all lights to go out except check engine light and seat belt light. 3 slowly push accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and back up slowly. 4 start jeep and see if you feel a difference. Some say yes some say no. I did it is bought my jeep used and it felt very underpowered did the recal and it feels fine now. No more lag when taking off from a stop.

    • @Tuffenough4u
      @Tuffenough4u 4 роки тому +1

      You can't. You have to buy a separate licence code once it's been registered to a specific Jeeps ECU. The additional subscription cost $100 per jeep, so I hope you didn't over pay for a system that won't work without it.

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  Рік тому +1

      This Flashcal Calibrator will not increase horsepower or add tunes, it is mainly used for correcting your speedometer and shift points after the installation of larger tires or different gears. If you're looking to increase the performance of your Wrangler without a tune, I would definitely look into giving your Wrangler a general tune-up (fluid changes, new spark plugs and coil packs, replace any old sensors if needed) and adding some sort of cold air intake and higher-flowing exhaust system. -Zach

      Mario Mendoza Superchips did reimburse me however it took some persistence. It was more of a pain having my Jeep sit for a month & having the ole lady drive me around. The only thing I use it for now is programming my 4.88 gears, tire size, and turning off the TPMS, I won’t install another tune again

  • @mscottsimon

    So where is the "& install" part?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  7 років тому +1

      We incorporated the install right in line with the review portion of the video Scott. The install on the Flashcal F5 is pretty straight forward. It plugs directly into your OBDII port, turn your ignition to the "on" switch, and then press the "ok" button on the Flashcal to sync it up with your Jeep. Then when you need to update the Flashcal it easily plugs right into your PC using the provided USB cord! Overall I think the Flashcal is an awesome product for the amount of adjust-ability it offers. Let me know if you need anything else! -Jake
