I always got the impression (as I got older) The Gobots were really aimed at a Younger Bracket then the Transformers. Being licensed by Tonka probably helped that. That and it was Transformers for Po'h Kids, and I was a Po'h Kid! So I had the GoBots! And Loved em! That and looking back. Their Cartoon was in some ways Better than the Transformers one. IMO!
You’re probably right about GoBots being for younger audiences. We only had a few. We don’t remember the cartoon as much (I don’t think we watched it all that much). We would be interested to know some of the reasons you feel the GoBots were cartoon was better. Please share your thoughts. Thanks for the comment!
@@mirrortwins9694 Not Necesarrily "Better" when it comes to story or characters. On that I would say they were probably Even. Hanna Barbera Did know how to put together a show. The VA was great but then Most of the Cast on Transformers ALSO worked on Gobots. HB just did a better job on the Actual Animation. Its all pretty Smooth and Colorful. Whereas when you go back and watch Trans as an adult...Boy can you spot the Corner Cutting and just out right cheapness in some of it! It can be a bit of a Kick to the Nostalgia Balls!
4:49 I'm pretty sure Hasbro officially repainted the 07 movie Bumblebee mold into Cliffjumper, so if you think about it, this company made a bootleg of a repaint, which is kind of strange.
Kyle says, you are correct. The repaint came out as Cliffjumper in 2008 with a retooled head that looked like a Terminatorskull. The bootleg l have has a cartoon inspired head sculpt.
What inspired us to do this one is that there aren’t any obvious competitors for Transformers, whereas the market is flooded with six inch action figures. Though we never miss a chance to talk about Classifieds! Thanks for the comment!
I know in terms of hot wheels, there were concept toys and designs for “season 2” of their 2005 series Acceleracers where some of the cars transformed into piloted robots which also had figures of the characters from the show that could interact with them. Sadly Acceleracers season 2 got canceled and so did the toys though some of the designs did get used for battle force 5. We did eventually get to see what the toys looked liked a couple of years ago.
@@mirrortwins9694 The fun part is it randomly popped up in a nearby vintage store a few weeks after I read about Landcross in a Transformers of Japan guide.
Im not into transformers as a collector but you guys make it interesting for me. Great banter!
Thank you so much! Justin doesn’t collect Transformers either.

We just looked these up. These seemed like they would have been pretty cool! Transforming Hotwheels?! Yes please! Thanks for the comment!
Do i smell underrated
We smell it too!
I got a bootleg Landcross. It's straight up unlawfull reproduction. All it needs is the correct Autobot decals.
That is shameful!

3d party isn't competition as they are basically making I-can't-believe-it's-not-Transformers, rather than their own characters.
Haha! That is a perfect way to phrase it. Nice!
