When I was a kid, this is what my parents listened to on the old Zenith radio their songs have been permanently ingrained in my brain----Thanks Mom for letting me listen with you!!!
@@phex9528Oh, yes.... especially when you have some good memories of this song....... My mother walked around the house singing this old song and now, eons later, I was awaken to this song in my head.
All these comments from older folk that grew up with these songs as kids, telling their stories & reminiscing on their older folk; so amazing. It breaks & uplifts my heart in a bitter sweet kind of way 💔❤️😥🥹. Im big sighing on the inside & out. God, what a feeling. Thank you for that glimpse back into time, and into your own personal lives. It feels like im watching an old time-ee movie scene unreel right before me. What a beautiful thing. Thank you. ❤🙏🏼
[Intro] When I'm not playing Solitaire I take a book down from the shelf And what with programs on the air I keep pretty much to myself [Verse 1] Missed the Saturday dance Heard they crowded the floor Couldn't bear it without you Don't get around much anymore [Verse 2] Thought I'd visit the club Got as far as the door They'd have asked me about you Don't get around much anymore [Bridge] Oh darling, I guess my mind's more at ease But nevertheless, why stir up memories? [Verse 3] Been invited on dates Might have gone but what for Awfully different without you Don't get around much anymore [Piano Solo] [Bridge] Oh darling, I guess my mind's more at ease But nevertheless, why stir up memories? [Verse 3] Been invited on dates Might have gone but what for Awfully different without you Don't get around much anymore [Outro] Don't get around much anymore Don't get around much anymore
They played our local theatre about thirty years ago at New Brighton, UK. They were amazed that everyone in the audience sang along with them word for word.
Gwendola Crawford Price..... My mother.... Sung this song to my siblings and I as kids.... Miss you mama. . I can actually hear your melodious voice now: "Missed the Saturday Dance, Don't get around much anymore". Love you ,mama. And I miss you. RI P!
I'm 17 and I first got to know the song from Tony Bennets and Michael Bubles version... I started singing it and my mother noticed and mentioned I'm singing The Ink Spots song... So I listened to it and fell inlove with it... By far the Best version of the song, the 2nd being Tonys and Michael! :)
This song was the theme of the U.S. Army during WWII, as I understand it.As a military daughter, myself, I tend to pay attention to those details, and as a Generation Xer, I recall being an outcast for my enjoyment of songs of this era myself. Those people are long gone from my life, however.
well actually im just joining the person before me ... actually i dont care how old people (including myself) are enjoying good music, great music never dies
Fadhly Sukawidjaja I think that is the point studio102 is raising, theres no need to state your age if you enjoy the music as it has no influence on your appreciation
When I have my music blasting on an ink spots playlist and a rap song comes on an advertisement I get VERY upset. Cmon UA-cam get smarter advertisement filters
i love this song and i love this band. i would love it if they were still around to do covers of popular songs in their musical style. can you image HOPE IT GIVES YOU HELL done by these guys?
If you want to hear modern songs done in older styles such as 1920s jazz, big band, dixieland and doowop - just look for Post Modern Jukebox. Pianist and leader Scott Bradley does some major great stuff. Check out their cover of "Style" and "All About the Bass" for a start and many others he has created.
A friend burned this track onto a CD for me one time years ago, but the disc got so scratched during several moves I couldn't copy the music to my PC. I cannot believe I actually found this (I didn't know who sang it)!
This screwed with my ears! I tried to start playing along while I sang along too to see the notes.... it falls between the cracks of two keys. Old Recordings do that sometimes

45 years on I can still hear this song and see the Old Mans pipe tobacco smoke rising over the back of the easy chair. DO NOT DISTURB!

Best piano solo I've heard in all my years, and I've heard plenty in the 78 era
My nana was always humming and shuffling her feet in a quick two step to the Ink Spots. Miss you forever, Nana, and I still know where I get it from.
Has it ever been more suave? Such a cool, relaxed, sound is amazingly easy to listen to.

Beautiful! One of the few done with Deek Watson on lead. He is not pictured on this album cover
Thanks for this response. Nice to know that Deek could do more than buck and roll his eyes. Very nice voice!
BEEN INVITED ON DATES🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️
How come there isn't even a top comment for this marvelous music?
Classy Classic!
im 15 and i know this by hearing the b.b king's version , cause its so good i look it up and wow what a legend
Why do young people always tell you how old they are? Its good your expanding your musical horizons, but keep the age to yourself, I'm an ol' fart!

Jaimie Kelland my apologies for not using quotation mark in a sarcasm comment..
you grew up fast@@fadhlysukawidjaja174
“Couldn’t get around without you” so lovely sad
they'd have asked me about you...
Every Ink Spots song begins with the same set of notes....
Not all of them
Most of them there’s probably like 3 or 4 that don’t

This is a song for the people who are lost.
I love it :3
DONT GET AROUND MUCH ANYMORE KE CAPOLAVORO
I love it 😍😍
First found this song because of the R.A.C.E. mod for Fallout: New Vegas.
This could be a COVID 19 era anthem.

SLAPS
Imagine this in new york or los angeles in the 30s
lol, i know. its great
This one might be.
Good
And I always thought Harry Connick Jr did this first!!!!
What album/albums did each of the songs that you got up-loaded come off of?
I know its a bit late, but they don't come as albums, they don't have such things. Anyways, they do sell collections
This is the arrangement that gets the job done. Other versions, from Nat King Cole to Michael Bublé, sparkle and bounce too much.
Deek Watson classic
CAPOLAVORO
Great song to kick a Nuka-Cola back with...
One of their songs was considered for the original Bladerunner.
This screwed with my ears! I tried to start playing along while I sang along too to see the notes.... it falls between the cracks of two keys. Old Recordings do that sometimes
@joedoable the music style has changed to much worse these days..even thought I like 40's music much more than the current one
THE INK SPOTS TOTALLED RULED
Fallout2
The best version of that is by Louis Armstrong in the 50s.
Greel
They're not perfect but, DAMN they are close. hahahaha
Didn’t know Kermit was in a jazz band in the 40s
i see it too
