It is hard to watch Gus not be his usual rambunctious self, but I am glad you caught it (of course you did!) and were able to get treatment. He was sooooooo well-behaved in the shots you showed us. He was so adorable when the doctor was shining the light in his eye. That is what I get next Thursday. I wish every good thought for Gus and you Scotty and I hope he makes a speedy and full recovery. Such a perfect pig!

I'm waiting at the doctor's office for an appointment and saw this new video about Gus at the doctor's office. The title was pretty scary. I can't stand to think that another piggy is not doing well. Sounds like he'll be better, but still praying for his quick recovery.

Awww Gus is such a good patient. I hope it's better very soon. My Dad used to swear by Golden Eye Ointment for just about everything but I don't know what the ingredients were. The vets can do such amazing things these days. Thank you for the informative video Scotty 👍🐹🐹🐹

Aww sweet Gus, I hope his eye heals up nicely with the new drops. I know what he's gone through at the eye vet, as I myself just had the yellow drops put in and the pressure machine used on my eyes recently, prior to eye laser treatment. Feel better soon Gus! 🥰

My Pedro had an eye ulcer a few weeks ago and had to have a corneal gel as well as drops, had to wait 15 minutes between each eye med. He seems fine now. I hope Gus will heal soon ❤
Those are some cool diagnostic tools they have. Gus was such a good boy for the vet, even though I'm sure he didn't like it much. I wish him all the best!

Of course Gus was a good boy. He's an angel. He heard surgery when you were reading and went "Nope. I'm out."
Feel better Gus. My Nini was recently stained and put on Ciprofloxacin drops in the same eye. My late boy Munchkin was treated for a hay poke and for the rest of his life he had a tiny hole/defect in his eye. Be careful with some of the hays. I had to go to Urgent Care and have a doctor get a piece of hay out of my finger because I couldn't. It was a VERY tightly packed bag of Western Timothy and Oxbow was kind enough to send me a different bag when I let then know.
Those who care for guinea pig’s eyes are to be exalted.
It helps to have good vision when seeking out mischief.

I kinda get what Gus is feeling, I'm not much for stuff touching my eyes either. It's a reason why I don't wear contact lenses. I thought it was something more serious for your little scruffy Houdini. He seems to be a fairly intelligent little guy.
Scotty, EDTA (say the letters vs. trying to pronounce it) is the abbreviation for a great chemical which binds strongly to Calcium and other minerals. It will pull calcium off the eye's surface. btw, it's also great at removing mineral and metal stains from faucets. (CLR liquid)

I have my guinea pig locked out of part of his cage while I clean it, he has been exploring the newly arranged portion of the cage seemingly ecstatic with the subtle changes. He was running around and popcorning, went into the loft and was playing around in there when he made a noise I've never heard or read about. It sounded like two hollow wooden tubes being tapped together about 5 times, and he had stopped to STARE at me, then resumed playing. Anyone ever heard anything like this?

You seem to enjoy a lot of lap time with your pigs. I would love to have mine sit on my lap for a while but I know they can’t hold their bladder and I don’t want to cause distress. Any suggestions?
My mother had Macular Degeneration. They take eye pressures, then give her shots in both eyes and then take them again. What are good eye pressures for a piggie?
