Both of my parents were alcoholics, so I had to learn self-discipline on my own. They've both passed on now from cancer.

Good video! The main things most people struggle with are:
    1. Discipline
    2. Action
If we're disciplined and do the work (action) the results will manifest.

Yes there is truth in that but not complete truth. Law of motion tells us that if two opposing forces are equal then the resultant action is non action or inertia. So we can be disciplined and have action but there may be things that are outside of our control that don’t allow the results to manifest the way we want. This is why all the rules of stoicism are equally important. I do agree that action and discipline are traits we seldom adopt consistently though 😊

Thank you for speaking truth to us!
I’m in transition and under the circumstances of what I’m changing in my personal life, it’s so uncomfortable but after hearing this I feel I can deal with it. I want to get to a place that I’m ok with my current life!
I left a 10 year relationship that went nowhere.
I’m going to listen to this every day for a year!

As a reader of "7 Habits of Highly Virtuous Stoics," I've realized that true wisdom comes from taking action, not just debating theory. This book has given me the tools to cultivate daily habits that align with my values and help me become the best version of myself.

Thank you for this video. I was listening with my eyes closed and at the end, during your conclusion, I got the mental image of a father holding his young son and speaking your words to him. It was impactful for me. Thank you.

Actions are the movements of our choices, means to the soul. Any changes must be realised through action, and all actions are derived from feeling and thought. Have goals and actually pursue them. Your intuition is important and your experience is just as important if not more, that balance, of actual hard work and understanding to use your experiences to move forward.

If you are lacking goals, try success in your daily life, for some people it will be going to the shop and not buying a chocolate, some people it will be having a clean place for a week. Being a success seems to be caught up in everybody has to have lofty goals when instead you can be successful daily and let your life follow on from there, for some people having safe shelter is a goal, don't get caught up idolising struggle for no reason, if you have what you wanted, learn appreciation.

Living is these days. Thick skin and mental toughness are a must. However, I truly believe the world is suffering from Stockholm's syndrome. Honestly it is so bad here now. I would like to talk to a cert doc about this theory.
Suffering is suffering weather mentally tough or not doesn't change the fact

These habilities are naturally inborn not acquired. You are born with the hability to be mentally tough. I used to work with little kids, and some of them showed these habilities. At age two or three their brains haven develop enough to learn about mental toughnesss. Also mental weakness is an excellent way to survive without expending tons of energy, within certain limits, of course.

This is a "Man Centered" philosophy, we need to place our trust and dependence on the God of the Bible. He is ultimately in control whether we believe it or don't believe it.

how useful are these, if whatever you do does not affect the external environment? you company decides to restructure and layoff staff despite whatever you do? how "stoic" or "unstoppable" or "toughness" can you be when you face loss of finances? when you may struggle to put your children thru school? opportunity to improve yourself thru hardship? seems BS
