I noticed you favor the pen sketches in your strathmore sketchbook that are top left. I am wondering if (as you move across the page) the way your hand is oriented on the page affects your drawing because you have to push the paper down so much? It might be worth using a paper weight as a test to see if that helps?

personally when a journal/notebook doesnt lie open flat, my writing can get wonky from having to hold down the pages.. i can def see that happening for art, really smart observation there
I appreciate this video so much cause I've been feeling like I'm just a very slow artist and I keep thinking that's just my confidence or skill level that's holding me back. I think when all you see are timelapses on social media or people who post consistently to keep up with the algorithm it's easy to think you are slacking. You did a lot with your week though!
I'm watching this while knitting and the yarn is called "Petit Lapin", which means "little Rabbit" so randomly fitting for this years' zodiac! ahhh I love seeing all your fashion and aesthetics!! It's kinda precious because we can clearly see the relationship and influences between you as a person and your art 💖 I always feel tempted to try doing a challenge like this or like one where you draw for 24 hours, but honestly it's hard! A part of me feels validated to see other artists have a difficulty with it because it shows that drawing every day isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, even if we want to. Then there's also good days with it and some subpar days. I will say though it's usually pretty nice to look back and see everything in retrospect, and if nothing else i'm sure it's an experience that strengthens you ☺Also I freaking love that postcard/sticker set!! A pink and black character duo will always be dear to me ♥

I use binder clips and bulldog clips to keep sketchbooks like that flat. I really like the paper in that sketchbook but like you said, it doesn't lay flat and it's really annoying.

Digital gouache brushes sound really cool! I wonder if you can expand your options even more with digital watercolor or marker brushes. For efficiency sake and not necessarily to replace your traditional process.

I relate so hard to giving myself too many tasks and then being disappointed when i dont get to everything. actually working on this in therapy currently as my emotions are very intense. my ambition is higher than my abilities lol

Thanks so much! There's a lot of factors involved with Patreon but I'd highly recommend checking out Leigh Ellexson and/or Fran Menses, they both made videos on starting a Patreon which could be helpful :)
