this was a key part of my childhood!!! i remember getting up super early on friday mornings before school and quietly going to the living room, turing on the wii, making sure the volume was down, and playing the cave story demo, or monsteca corral: monsters vs robots demo, such a weird adrenaline filled super calm morning. all the lights off, just the tv on and the sun not even out yet, hearing the theme of mimiga town on super low volume pushed this feeling even more. i loved those days :)
Okay, Cave Story + (Switch Edition) uses this OST, at least on my Switch. How come when I look up the Cave Story + (Switch Edition) OST, this is not the music that plays?! Apparently this is the Wii OST? And apparently everybody hates it but like, 7 people? I prefer it, but maybe that's because it's the first one I was introduced to.
All versions of Cave story music had their moments. Grasstown was great on 3D, good on the original version, but a piece of trash on the Wii. The Wii version had the best moonsong though
I feel that the reason this one works so well is because all the songs sound like they were made to be calm, and this song takes place in the only actually calm area in the whole game
its not as good as the original but this is a genuinely nice version of this theme. the lighter instrumentation and calmer arrangement of this version suits mimiga village well
Not sure what they were thinking with some of these remixes. The instrumentation in this track sounds limp, it's missing the entire second half of the original song, and it just feels shoddy and unfinished. And this is one of the "better" arrangements too...

At least this is a decent and "peaceful" song in this version of the game. It fits Mimiga Village well. But 90% of the other songs in the Wii version suck.

You can change the OST in the settings, so you probably have it on the WiiWare OST
Switch edition is my first too, and honestly, yeah I prefer this version of the soundtrack too.
Idk I started with the wii version but I later played the 3DS version (not the remake) and I preferred that OST way more than the wii one.
