The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, often shortened to Hamlet, is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare at an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlet's father King Hamlet and then taken the throne, marrying his deceased brother's widow, Hamlet's mother Gertrude.
Summary:
Act 1, Scene 1: The Ghost of Hamlet's father appears to Horatio and two sentinels. They wonder what it portends and decide that Hamlet should be told.
Act 1, Scene 2: The new king and his court . . . Hamlet's first soliloquy ("O that this too too solid flesh would melt") . . . Hamlet learns of the ghost.
Act 1, Scene 3: Laertes and Polonius warn Ophelia to stay away from Hamlet.
Act 1, Scene 4: The Ghost appears to Hamlet.
Act 1, Scene 5: The Ghost's message.

These voice actors are amazing! I especially like whoever voices Hamlet and Polonius. I wish I knew their names. I keep trying to watch Hamlet movies but none of the actors deliver their lines quite as well as this audiobook which is really impressive!

I'm here bc it's my mum's fav Shakespeare. She says it's due to the complexity. I guess I'm about to find out how complex then. (For those who are curious, my fav is Romeo and Juliet whereas my cat daughter Corinne's is Macbeth. Loving Shakespeare clearly runs in the family maternally.)

hamlet is a trash book I'm only here because I have to do this for school. I would much rather do just about anything else including watching the grass grow outside of my house. I think about ripping my hair out of my head every time I hear the words of this horrific book. It fatigues my brain and wastes my time. Again, let me reiterate that I would be so much happier if this book was out of my life. :)
