@@SchoolingOnline I dont know if you still respond, But something tells me this is literally one of the best written stories and can't quite understand why??
Good summary overall, but it's quite important to note that Claudius does display guilt for killing his brother. What is said in the video is unfortunately incorrect. He displays much self-loathing while he is praying, declaring his offence as 'rank'. This is what defines the brilliance of Shakespeare, as all of his characters have good and bad qualities about them. This shows Claudius has some moral compass and that he can be seen as both a villain and as a corrupt leader with some redeeming qualities. This is an important aspect to consider when writing your Hamlet essays.

not to get confusing, but, there ARE TWO Hamlets in the play.............old King Hamlet (who got murdered), and his son, Hamlet, who William Shakespeare named the play after. 😊
I suppose because he was willing to do what was best for the country. Even in the face of the fact that he could be at odds with Fortinbras, because apparently his father had killed Fortinbras’ father.
hamlet is angry at claudius for killing his dad. He uses madness as a mask in order to give himself safety and time to devise a plan to kill claudius. The madness takes over him though and this is when he realizes he must become decisive (like fortinbras) and leave behind his indecisive nature that was caused by his mask of madness.
So Hamlet is a bumbling, brooding, psychopath who kills his friends (Ros&Gild), his girlfriend Ophelia, innocent Polonius, his mother Gertrude (indirectly), his sparing partner Laertes and finally his step-father. 7 dead people and then Fortinbras says "Oh this guy was so great..." Hamlet is worried about Claudius going to Heaven but Hamlet is surely bound for Hell. Self-contradictingly Hamlet goes on and on about mortality without mentioning the afterlife in other scenes. He is a serial murderer who worries that his likewise murderous step-father / uncle is bound for heaven? Who wrote this play Shakespeare or Charles Manson? You memorize the plot of this lame royal blood-fest and then you think "No that can't be right...."

Hi
Why hamlet was declared great man at the end?
I suppose because he was willing to do what was best for the country. Even in the face of the fact that he could be at odds with Fortinbras, because apparently his father had killed Fortinbras’ father.
No disrespect to greater writer but i find the plot to be cringe really cringe
who?
So, what was the moral of the story? and why hamlet declared as a great man?
not every story needs a moral.
Wassup
wait....so why was hamlet mad in the first place?
Because the world and soeciety is mad and makes us broken. I didnt watch the vido I just guessed
hamlet is angry at claudius for killing his dad. He uses madness as a mask in order to give himself safety and time to devise a plan to kill claudius. The madness takes over him though and this is when he realizes he must become decisive (like fortinbras) and leave behind his indecisive nature that was caused by his mask of madness.
noice
Why is Elsinore Castle Hogwarts?
Hamlet. King David. Saul. Samuel. Not very original are they. Mockers.
