Just can't I understand how much we have advanced
I'm just confused that how on earth the wire goes to the target location directly instead of moving into some other vein or artery. 🤐
Angiography is done along with this procedure to insert guide wire.
Feeling d same ... the best unsolvable in the world is the human body
Pre insertion of the guidewire the Cardiologist bends the distal tip of the guidewire by 15-45 degrees. This end will pass through the coronary artery. A small vice like gripping device (torque device) is fed over the guidewire at the Cardiologists (proximal) end. The torque device allows clockwise or anti-cockwise steering of the distal guidewire from the proximal end. Used in conjunction with angiography the Cardiologist can steer and adjust via the torque device the direction that the guidewire takes. Not too difficult unless there is a total occlusion of the vessel which then may require the use of a slippery wire which is a whole new subject. Hope this makes sense for you and increases your understanding of the procedure.

I am having stents put into the iliac arteries of both legs this week. This film was very informative as I was very anxious about the procedure. This has put my mind at ease. It will still be a long road ahead as other issues are followed with a thoracic ascending aortic aneurysm. Wish me luck.
Thanks for uploading, plz upload more videos about heart....
Awesome content! Very well presented.
but what about all those ridges of the stent once in place, even with it grown over with endothelial cells, seems to be a lot of potential ridges for plaque ect to fetch up on as the blood flows by.
