  • Hi, welcome to part 2....solo and outro section of 'Getting away with it' by Johnny marr. (Electronic)
Now i do apologise for the poor editing. I had an absolute mare. i did both vids together but when editing second part i realised that it was a little over recapped. so had to be re-done. So this vid has a bit of a 'cobbled together'feel to it......Anyway, i hope you can get something from it all the same... Cheers all
Thanks for watching. If you appreciate what i do. Please click on an AD every now and then. I know its a pain and it'll never make me rich but it may make me enough coppers to buy better equipment. Which, in turn, will hopefully improve the quality of the videos that i can produce for you guys. Thanks again. Stevoguitar

Very true mate, a great song especially now Johnny plays it as a part of his live set, played now more of a guitar based tune than the original Electronic version, but for me it just totally works as a live guitar tune. I learnt to play this on guitar a couple of years ago and one of my favourite cover songs to play, especially from the guitar breakdown / interlude / solo, once you’ve learnt it and got it! It all just flows beautifully as a guitar player, like so many of Johnny’s riffs, tricky but once learnt all parts flow perfectly into the next and they become like a natural feeling looping into each other, if you get what I mean. Probably not cos I’m brilliant at confusing the F*ck out of people.

@@StevoGuitar Electronic was what Johnny Marr did after The Smiths permanently, that is. Getting Away With It is also an Electronic Song, Johnny has just reworked it into a guitar song now but its original version from 1989 is very different. I think you should hear all of Electronic's albums if you haven't already, the guitar is never out and front and its a world away from the Smiths and not guitar faced, but songs like Reality, For You, Forbidden City, Out of My League, Haze and Vivid are all songs that involve more guitar. I hope you like them.
P.S; Electronic was Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner (New Order)

@@secondone1714 I was aware that they had formed electronic along with the pet shop boys. But only knew that song, didnt realise they had an album. will have to look into that cos i also like that version/ style. Just love it being reworked as a more guitar oriented song tho'. Thanks for the info👍

@@StevoGuitar They actually had 3 albums! And they have around an album's worth of B-Sides too during their time together. No problem :)
Also, Neil Tennant said that he'd hope for an Electronic reform or something some time ago, but I think Johnny is too into the Solo for it, and I don't even know what Bernard would do nowadays with his voice. The PSB were only there for 3 songs on the debut and a single in 1992. On their 2nd album they had Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk, and their 3rd album was just the 2 themselves (with a supporting basssist/drummer)
