- Wrestlemania 29 had the potential to be one of the greatest WrestleMania's ever, with Brock Lesnar back, The Rock willing to do one more match and even the Undertaker still being able to put on a classic. However as we all know the WWE squandered it. What we got was just an average WrestleMania. It should have been so much better. So I thought why not go back and have a little fun and try to book WrestleMania 29 myself. Lets see how it goes.

That would have been a great Wrestlemania. John Cena vs Undertaker in their prime would have been a classic. WWE needs to hire you as a writer.

CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. The Rock would have been incredible. All with respective goals. Punk finally going against 2 of Vince's ass kissers (pipe bomb reference) and finally gets in main event and now to leave with the title. Cena after having his worst year (kayfabe) tries to redeem and get the title again. The Rock once more tries to repeat from WrestleMania the last year.

Just because punk refered them as ass kisser..doesn't mean they really are... they're just loyal to the company..by this logic the Undertaker would be the biggest ass kisser.. company did everything for punk..and punk thought the wrestling world revolve around him only...he failed UFC...he failed WWE...now in AEW... basically he's on a journey to fing a good ass to kiss.

I have an idea. If John Cena actually did end the Streak, getting MASSIVE heat, then Dolph Ziggler cashes in his MitB the next night on RAW, and wins the title, to a massive pop. Basically the same thing that actually happened in real life.
And then he could do the heel turn would be a good time

This was my first Wrestlemania I watched live so basically first ever Wrestlemania I watched. I was 5 turning 6 in a few months and I will always have a happy place for this one even though people hate it, it's one of my personal favorites.
I was 5 when I seen my first as well, only difference is my first one was Wrestlemania 25.
I was 11 also my first Wrestlemania that I watched live! Totally agree, I think this show is underrated! Every once and a while I’ll watch it again for the nostalgia lol

i was 14 and had watched several wrestlemanias before 29 and yea it was pretty bad even while watching it this booking was way better but then again everything is better with hindsight

This is by far my fav wrestling channel on the entire UA-cam. Not because it pretends to know everything about wrestling, but because Pav is real, he speaks about his experience as a fan and we can identify with his feelings. I'm from Colombia a country where wrestling isn't that popular, i'm becoming 31 today and i was a late Attitude era/Ruthless Aggression era kid with just a few friends who liked WWE but this videos are always emotional for me cause i always remember my greatest days as a kid and i just don't want to be like those haters at the internet that pretend that wrestling is a science, i just want to enjoy wrestling and this videos made me do it more. Thank you Pav.
Punk vs Cena vs Rock would have been my go to Main Event for Mania 29. Punk gets a Main Event Mania Match, Cena and Rock from 28 is still once in a lifetime, and Cena can still pin The Rock and win the WWE Championship. But the idea of Cena vs Taker and Brock vs Rock happening sounds cool too.
P.S. Punk was actually offered a match against HHH at Mania 30 and he was totally against it.

aight I'll say it, the rematch between cena and the rock was a great wrestling match. a blast to watch.
however I think the first match shouldn't have been marketed as once in a lifetime. I think without that title card people would hate the match less because they would feel less "betrayed".

imo I feel like it was kind of just a finisher fest, and I even though I do sometimes enjoy those kinds of matches, it just got ridiculous after a certain point to me

Honestly pretty good. A part of me would have had Ziggler cash in on Taker at the end of mania, and turn super heel. Just imagine the heel Ziggler walking around with the world title for a year and him saying “he beat the streak”.

This was my first PPV ever actually. Parents spent over $50 on it. I got violently ill all of that week. Wonder if that was a hint. Anyway, this was great. I'd love to see more of these.

Great video, Cena vs Taker at Mania 29 would’ve been crazy. I think him ending the streak would’ve been the perfect way to turn Cena heel but no way was Vince losing his Superman.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge how funny this guy is. That Goldberg part had me weak
Main Event plot twist: In this timeline, they decide they have to go ahead and end the streak so they let Cena beat it. This would've been better that having Lesnar doing it in my opinion. After he wins, they kinda do a whole respect tribute thing to eachother and help eachother up and Zigglers music suddenly blasts. He retained is briefcase earlier and decides to cash in on Cena after Cena and Undertaker put eachother through hell in the final main event of the night. The Bell rings and the lights go out. Taker Chokes slams Ziggler and Cena hits the AA and retains. This shows the ultimate sign kf respect after an incredible match between Cena and Taker and also implements the ultimate surprise shock factor. It also gives more substance and reasonability to have the MITB battle royal.
That would’ve be so great if this happened! 8/10 booking!

I remember the themes this year were 🔥 especially Surrender as a kid and Bones was dope also I’m coming home man sometimes the themes can still be good every once in awhile
If they booked this Mania like this, I believe it would still be talked about right now

Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker(c) for the World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena vs Daniel Bryan(c) for the WWE World Championship (Bryan wins the WWE Title from CM Punk at Summerslam 2013, Cena wins the Rumble to challenge Bryan)
CM Punk, Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler vs The Shield
It's a 9 out of 10 it would definitely be the second best WrestleMania of all times. Thank you very much for making this video.
i actually enjoyed the buildup of ADR and Jack Swagger. ADR was pretty enjoyable as a babyface even though his character was much better suited to be a heel. His double turn against Ziggler was one of the best moments of that year
Anyone who enjoyed Alberto Del Rio needs to have their head examined. The guy was a literal borefest who came out to crickets.
One Simple Fix. I'd just have Cena beat Rock at Mania 28 so that they wouldn't worry about getting Cena his win back.
Edit: Okay maybe not JUST that but it's one of the biggest fixes I would have made on the Road to Mania 29

yea it was honestly pretty dumb to give rock the win he didn't need it at all he was a movie star he wasn't gonna be there afterwards unlike cena they could have built on that win and they wouldn't have had to redo it at wrestlemania 29

Taker vs Punk and Lesnar vs HHH are the only ones worth remembering and watching ,both were very personal and emotional with great performances.

I could see Punk losing the title to D-Bry at SummerSlam, if not, he would have beaten Cena for the WHC and have the unification at TLC with Bryan and Punk instead
Apart from that, it was a really good booking and different than the usual i saw

9/10 for me, main event with cena and taker was perfect, punk vs triple h also makes sense, but the only thing I’d change is randy and the battle royale, I think randy turning heel he’d fit better as attacking Brock after he won and their rivalry should’ve been better imo bc both started in 02 being the youngest champions and having absolutely different paths, it’d make the perfect wwe vs ufc match imo. I wouldn’t have randy on the card tho and thatd be his motivation for being mad and taking it out on brock. The royale tho I’d change for something more interesting like the shield vs 3-man gauntlets, where the company would beef with the shield and throw a gauntlet of random 3-man squads at em to injure them at mania but the shield would win with all the members injured and reigns taken out. This would help Rollins and Ambrose go their own ways later on and do become championship lvl superstars

The Prince of Good Vibes has returned. :) As for rebooking, I sometimes wonder if they just fed Cena to Brock at WM 29 instead of what happened in 2012 (to make Brock look strong and negate The Streak being broken) so Rock and Punk can have that championship match. Oh and Trips isn't involved period cause Taker hit him with the "Streak vs. Career" stipulation at WM 28.
Oh also, one does hope that in the Pav-verse, the Streak remained unbeaten, with Bray Wyatt being next at WM 30 and Sting coming last at 31.

In general I really love this, I think its a lot of great ideas and giving the people what they want (aka the opposite of most WWE booking). I will say though that you are smoking crack if you think Rock vs Brock wouldnt be the main event, like that's the money match that's the headline baby.
John Cena vs. Undertaker with the streak on the line would’ve be a way bigger deal.

For Dolph Zigler's match, I would have booked it as a money in the bank ladder match, and after Zigler wins the brief case, he cashes in on cm punk the same night he defeats HHH hence starting a new rivalry between punk, dolph zigler and HHH for backlash.

cena vs Taker at wrestlemania sounds amazing, I think to raise the stakes, if cena wins, taker retires, if taker wins, every match he has with the title means the title is on the line, obviously I would book it so taker wins and put Superman John cena under taker’s eternal curse, either have him defend every title he earns every night or just for the duration of his current run during the fake timeline wrestlemania 29.
Loved the way you booked cena vs taker sad to see we never got a proper feud between them imagine someone evil as taker is fighting a superman like cena and what would have actually happened if cena defeated taker and immediately turned heel after that.
There were plans to turn John Cena heel in 2012 and Cena himself was even down to do it but for whatever reasons it just never came to be and I feel like his rematch with The Rock at SummerSlam would've been a perfect opportunity to do it

Cena Vs Undertaker happening would make me so 50/50 because not only is Cena and Undertaker in my top 2, I always want Cena to win but when it comes to the streak, I think it should have never been broken but Cena would be an exception (because it's Cena) but at the same time, The Streak was too special man and I'm glad you kept in Cena beating The Rock because that needed to happen just so he can say he beat The Rock and get his revenge from Mania 28. This video was so good, do Mania 30 next and keep doing it to current day Mania, it would be so fun
At the time, the rivalries and matches were on fire back then. Everyone enjoyed it, but looking back at it, it looks weak. Seeing alberto del rio reminds me of how over he was as world champion
9/10 booking. I’d like to see what else you’d change. Maybe messy shows like Wrestlemania 27 and 32 or whole storylines like the summer of punk, Stings run, Batista in 2014, or Orton’s first face turn in 2004. Anything that comes to mind, I’ll be here to see

Definitely better wrestemania, you should do more of these in the future man. My only thing is I always hated cena with the big Goldie it never looked right to me, I would’ve tried to make the main event a triple threat to try n make punk happy but I’d still have cena winning. I also feel like ryback deserved a lot bigger of a push at the time I would’ve put him vs brock

I think we liked him as a kid bc oh his look and presentation but yeah he was definitely overpushed.
Tbf that era was weak with talent and needed building and he was kind of transitional for the most part.
Rey Matt and MVP are some guys they could've let run. JoMo in particular coulda been built around this time

Helping Orton and Batista in particular was great. He slightly helped Cena too. Bryan had greatest story of all time

Prime taker was better and worked with less talent than HHH. HHH constantly disappointed in matches and kept stealing stars for mediocre matches.
