i know right and Out there should have been nominated to but at least the deleted song someday was nominated for that category at the Oscar's and thats better than nothing
Thank you for giving "Godspell" some love. That soundtrack is my childhood. "Day By Day" was my mother's favorite song (she died last year; I still use it for my father's ringtone) and my sisters & I could sing the entire album; my oldest sister (I'm the youngest) & I even sang "By My Side" at my grandmother's wedding.
Ms. Mojo - I love your Broadway-based videos, but, for the love of God, please stop playing that performance of Idina at the Tonys. She had the flu when she performed and doesn't sound ANYWHERE as good as when she's perfectly healthy. That being said, I love this list so much.
Lol, I've never heard this musical and I thought sheesh, I hope that's not the original cast member singing lol. Glad to know it was just an off night.
Elphaba is one of my dream roles if I ever make it on broadway I love wicked It’s one of my favorite musicals next to prince of Egypt, hunchback of notre dame, and many others including enchanted and pocahontas
Children of Eden, which is one of his favorites, should absolutely be in the top 10. Even though it's not main stream, it is truly magical! If you haven't listened to it. Please do yourself a favor and listen NOW!!
1. Wicked is my favorite musical on Broadway and it’s number one for me because I love it and grew up listening to it because it became a part of my childhood forever ever since I was a kid. 2. Dreamwork’s Prince of Egypt is my second favorite 3. Pippin is my absolute favorite musical because I love Patina Miller and Ben Vereen
The Prince of Egypt is my favorite DreamWorks movie. Epic story from the Bible, A-List cast and great songs. I was shocked in surprise that it became a musical on Broadway
I wanted to see Wicked since I was 9 and I first heard the song Popular sung by Kristen Chenowith. I became obsessed with it and my best friend went to see it 3 times but I couldn't afford it. Last year, for my 13th birthday, my parents surprised me with tickets to go see it on the West End and I was totally ecstatic. It was the 2nd stage musical I had ever seen, and it was totally worth the wait.
I love Stephen Schwartz. So many great songs and musicals he was credited for and with. Too many to list here! Pocahontas is already my personable favorite amongst the list.
I love Wicked. Seen it 6 times in the West End, but it's not Stephen Schwartz best. My personal top 3 would probably be 1. Prince of Egypt, 2. Hunchback, 3. Wicked.
I love Wicked as much as the next theatre nerd but it’s not Schwartz’s best work. It’s only his most well known. The Prince of Egypt should be number 1 in my own opinion. It’s a masterpiece in every respect.
I felt Hunchback was his BEST! He used regular English coupled with Latin through out; hauntingly beautiful. I would say Pocahontas would be tied with Prince of Egypt because the use of native Hebrew and Powtan languages. But the languages were not seamlessly integrated like Hunchback.
“Prince of Egypt,” “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and “Enchanted” are among my all time favorite films. Stephen Schwartz is nothing short of a genius. My all time favorite song he’s ever written is “When You Believe” because it’s given me comfort through countless dark times throughout my life
Countrydiva524 what? What are you all looking at? Oh do I have something in my teeth? Alright fine! We might as well get this over with! No I’m not seasick, yes I’ve always been green, no I didn’t eat grass as a child!

That's awesome!! He must be a genius!! I love love love the prince of Egypt!! And enchanted!!and Pocahontas! How come i haven't noticed him before!! He basically a part of my fav thing in the world: Disney!!
Wicked is definitely Stephen Schwartz’s most popular musical, but certainly not his best. Pippin, Prince of Egypt, Godspell, and Hunchback are far better musicals.
as soon I saw the name Stephen Schwartz in the title and saw Wicked was on the thumbnail, I immediately clicked on the video! I love Stephen Schwartz's musicals and Wicked is my favorite of them, considering my channel name!
Favorite Stephen Schwartz Musicals Wicked, Pocahontas, Children Of Eden, Enchanted & Pippin I have never seen Prince Of Egypt but When You Believe is one of my favorite songs.
You know I liked some of Stephen Schwartz's works in Disney films, and Wicked as well. Anywho, I share the same birthday with Stephen Schwartz. Pretty cool huh?
I'm actually not excited at all that Wicked will become a movie bc I don't want them to ruin it. If they do it right it'll be amazing but I guess we shall see
I don't think it's right that, "The Prince of Egypt," didn't make it into the Top 5. Quite frankly, I think the songs and music are better than the songs and music featured in, "Pocahontas."
I have to agree. I have "Heaven's Eyes", "When You Believe" (the movie version...NOT the sub-par Houston/Carey version) and "You're Playing With the Big Boys Now" (Martin & Short are spectacular in that) on my MP3 player, which I nabbed after my daughter asked for the soundtrack CD.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is really an underrated classic. A live-remake should do it justice for the underrated classic, by fixing its story and draw its power in its source material. And there's one director who could nail the live-action remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Alfonso Cuaron. And there's also actors and actresses that can nail these characters: Quasimodo - Eddie Redmayne (aided with a practical makeup and prosthetics) Esmeralda - Alicia Vikander Judge Claude Frollo - Richard E. Grant Captain Phoebus - Oscar Isaac Clopin Trouillefou - Lin-Manuel Miranda Archdeacon - Anthony Hopkins
The studio cast recording of Hunchback is much better than the movie. There are many more songs and there is much more to the story (with the annoying gargoyles and goat removed). It is still a Disney musical production but never made it to Broadway.
Prince Of Egypt is a masterpiece!! The music Stephen Schwartz made for it is just incredible!! 😭🧡🙏🙌
It's my all time favorite movie today :-)
I love the songs he wrote especially the plagues, deliver us, and through heaven’s eyes
I agree. It should have made it into the Top 5. Its soundtrack is superior to, "Pocahontas."
Don't forget Hans Zimmer's breathtaking score in the film.
The three soundtrack I loved of Stephen Schwartz is The Prince Of Egypt, Pocahontas, and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
100% agreed!
Do one of these for Stephen Sondheim
And webber
And William Finn
Yessssss
"God Help the Outcasts" should've been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song!

Love "The Prince of Egypt" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Such underrated epics.

Children of Eden deserved top 5. It's such an underrated masterpiece.
Ms. Mojo - I love your Broadway-based videos, but, for the love of God, please stop playing that performance of Idina at the Tonys. She had the flu when she performed and doesn't sound ANYWHERE as good as when she's perfectly healthy.

Ok let's just show all of the other professionally shot footage we have of Idina Menzel as Elphaba. Oh that's pretty much it? Oh ok.
Lol, I've never heard this musical and I thought sheesh, I hope that's not the original cast member singing lol. Glad to know it was just an off night.

It was announced today that Prince of Egypt is getting a full West End production next year!
I saw the tryout in Utah last summer, and it was powerful.
Have you done best Musical composers of all time yet?

thank you for putting Prince of Egypt first, I feel like that movie doesn't get the credit it deserves.

I agree, it’s really under appreciated and a really good movie. (Prince of Egypt)
İve seen it 4 times
I love Wicked as much as the next theatre nerd but it’s not Schwartz’s best work. It’s only his most well known. The Prince of Egypt should be number 1 in my own opinion. It’s a masterpiece in every respect.

I mean Wicked is my favorite musical of all time… but I LOVE Prince of Egypt!!!
Godspell should have been #2. I've seen casts in tears as they are performing this play. The music is wonderful.
Godspell is good, but Pippin is miles clear
“Prince of Egypt,” “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and “Enchanted” are among my all time favorite films. Stephen Schwartz is nothing short of a genius. My all time favorite song he’s ever written is “When You Believe” because it’s given me comfort through countless dark times throughout my life
Finally Wicked gets some respect! Not like i'm a fan or anything... I've only seen it 7 times.

Yea since some people haven’t seen it yet
Three songs I love that he did;
When You Believe, Defying Gravity and God Help The Outcasts
Children of Eden deserved to be more than an Honourable Mention! I saw it at the Union Theatre in London a few years ago, and it was fantastic!
Aren't they all great though....?
140: He takes it seriously. Make sense that Pocahontas is Disney’s serious movie
Very very great list I like it a lot and a lot of fun too and amazing too
Wicked is the most "POPULAR!" Love that song so much! 😘😘😘😘😘

I never cared what underrated means. All I know is I love The Hunchback of Notre Dame
We need a Sondheim list
Stephen & Alan are practically like brothers. Their collaboration on Enchanted was a match made in Disney and Broadway magician heaven.
Wicked is one of my favorite musicals
Ah, I see the resemblance of Glinda being in Enchanted for some reason.
I’m here after watching Fosse/Verdon do an episode on Pippin, one of my fav shows.
WICKED WILL ALWAYS BE #1

Great news: It was just announced that the stage adaptation of Prince of Egypt is officially coming to West End next year!
As long as they sing "When You Believe" like in the movie, and NOT like the Houston/Carey "pick-a-note" version.
I hope it comes to Broadway
Children of Eden deserves more than an honorable mention in my opinion
I wish that show got more love. Lost in the Wilderness and Ain’t it Good are such amazing songs.
Pearl Forrester right both are personal favorites of mine
Children of Eden is incredibly, so underrated
Children of Eden deserves more than an "honourable mention" IMHO 😉
Can’t believe that Prince of Egypt wasn’t at least top 3. Great partnership between him and zimmer!
Enchanted was my favorite film ever until I was 8. It is a huge part of my childhood
THANK GOD PIPPIN IS HERE!!!!
Where’s the love for Geppetto with Drew Carey? That’s one of my favorite Stephen Schwartz musicals.
YES !!! I've been saying for years it should be adapted for Broadway
Wicked is definitely Stephen Schwartz’s most popular musical, but certainly not his best. Pippin, Prince of Egypt, Godspell, and Hunchback are far better musicals.
Matthew James Thomas in Pippin was so good
Could you do a top ten Alen Menken musicals
My guess for #1: Beauty and the Beast.

Yes. Wicked is the best musical ever written. No doubt about it.
Can we have Rogers and Hammerstein?
Yes, those guys were wonderful songwriters. Love "The Sound of Music" and "The King and I".
darthstarkiller1912 love the sound of music and Julie Andrews
Favorite Stephen Schwartz Musicals
Wicked, Pocahontas, Children Of Eden, Enchanted & Pippin
I have never seen Prince Of Egypt but When You Believe is one of my favorite songs.
Not hard to figure that Wicked and Pippin are in the top 3
By the way, love Pocahontas, but it’s not even in the same stratosphere as Prince of Egypt
Ms. Mojo should give more love to Matilda the Musical.
Finally Wicked gets the respect it deserves
I love Wicked so much
You know I liked some of Stephen Schwartz's works in Disney films, and Wicked as well.
Anywho, I share the same birthday with Stephen Schwartz. Pretty cool huh?
I completely agree with the other comments. Please please do one for Andrew Lloyd Webber & Stephen Sondheim!
Yes pippin and godspell and wicked my favs
Why is everyone obsessed with Wicked??? Pippin is leaps and bounds ahead of it.
Please do a Sondheim list!!
More Broadway videos please!
Working only made the list so you could mention LMM. Children of Eden is a Top 5 score and deserves more than an honourable mention
4:19 ksi in the right
wicked < pippin
JESSICA VOSK IS IN THE THUMBNAIL
my fav is prince of Egypt
Do Stephen Sondheim next!
I knew Wicked would be number one
This man looks like a cartoon character.
God I know it's gonna be wicked but I'd really like Hunchback to be #1
Could you please do something like this with Andrew Lloyd webber?
Prince of Egypt deserved a higher spot.
Zach Payne Does it help knowing that they’re adapting it into a stage musical?
Most people don't know that Idina Menzel was in Enchanted because she didn't sing.
