Thing is there are a lot of different kind of intelligences, not to generalize but many engineers that I’ve met seem to lack a developed sense of social intelligence which I think is illustrated here.
The UA-camr makes several readily apparent errors, thus, given what detectives say to him at one point, I am unclear whether Missile Mike really did confess to murdering his family, or simply to fatalistic thinking over the 911 call. It seems plausible that he committed the crime with the intention of offing himself and couldn't follow through on it. Or that he had no intention of ever hurting himself but the crime was spontaneous, so reverse "engineering" a believable excuse wasn't ever in the cards. Not to suggest he was smart enough to get away with it otherwise, but it is a comical level of incompetence given his education, if he either concocted a "plan" within minutes of his first fatality, or spent months or even years thinking about how "no one will suspect a thing."
I worked for Raytheon and several other contracts. "it doesn't take a rocket scientist" let me cut you off there. not all of us Aerospace Engineers are "rocket scientists". There are a bunch of fill in jobs for proofing designs and a lot of basic math skills to find our mistakes. Yes, we make mistakes too. We are very diligent in vetting in our defense programs. This nerd probably was grandfathered in. A real Marine, we suck it up and admit our faults. This guy probably survived on crayons and doubt he graduated boot.

The correct way to approach this would be to explain to the cop that principally you always speak to an attorney before cop interactions. I mean the evidence is overwhelming but if you have 197 IQ you should be able to comprehend that a 1% chance is better than 0% chance.

Hard to believe a person has an IQ of 197... At all... That isn't even how the quotient is presented. IQ scores are done as a range, Not a specific numerical... Because again, It is a damn quotient lol The typical explanation is; A fraction is a part of a whole, A quotient is the number that is obtained when you simplify the fraction. An IQ score is an Intelligence quotient thus it will *never* have a specific numerical value, It is a range to represent the simplified fraction.

Things any person would ask if they were truly confused. One wouldn't sit there quietly trying to remember what they ate. I'd be like, "wtf is going on? Where's my family? What do you want from me?"
I'm an ER doctor. You might be surprised at how often paramedics or other medical professionals either think someone is dead when they aren't or don't notice that the patient died / stopped breathing while standing right next to them. There are various errors that contribute to this, but the two most common is a phenomena known as "anchoring bias" and "confirmation bias". Anchoring bias is a tendency to rely heavily on the first piece of information you hear. Confirmation bias is the tendency to see new information as consistent with and supportive of what you already believe to be true. It works like this. Someone is severely injured or is near death from a medical condition. A bystander calls 911 and says "I found a dead body" or "there was a motorcycle accident... ughhh... this guy is dead." The information is relayed to emergency services, who then expect to see a dead person. When they arrive, they look at the victim. Maybe he is covered in blood or has grievous injuries or appears not to be breathing. There might be some subtle signs that the victim is not dead, but these are overlooked (if he is dead, why is he still bleeding) or discounted (did I just feel a very weak pulse there? No, I think that was just my own pulse). It is very important to follow your usual procedures and to make your own independent assessments every single time. Have you ever noticed that when at doctor's office or ER, you get asked the same questions 4 times by 4 different people? Many patients see this as a sign of disorganization and get frustrated by it. The fact of the matter is that I do know what the secretary / nurse / referring physician says is going on, but I'm asking you anyway for a specific reason. Oh, and wear a seatbelt / helmet!
I’ve been seriously ill in hospital 5 times. I’m not sure if it’s the same with all patients but even before losing consciousness I’d get really pissed off with the incessant repeated questions and them constantly saying my name loudly. The first time it was my first episode of major blood loss and even though obviously you feel nothing but pain and sheer panic I remember trying to say “that was cool” when the female doctor used stat. I thought they just said it on tv 😂
And patients lie, no idea why but they lie all the time. Stories change drastically by the time I get to a patient. I love watching the residents’ faces when the patient give me a completely different story than they gave the resident. It really makes my day because they get so mad. 😂
A preconceived ideology is often formulated via information (regardless of validating that information or misinformation). How an individual accepts something as fact without validation can be from a number of factors. People, in general, often rationalize (perhaps what he or she wants to believe), which greatly influences the decision making. And belief is to hope for something that is just not known, whether or not it is appropriate. With the medical team being told one thing, it seems that he or she in the medical field has already subconsciously instilled a thought within them all that can affect them as a whole (conceptual Perspective-talking). The psychology of the brain and behavior is fascinating.
Right! Was he trying to act insane? Was he trying to act oblivious? It seems like he wasn't sure which direction he wanted to go and flip flopped. Awful acting on his part. Absolutely awful. If you didn't remember anything, wouldn't you be like, "why tf am I here? What's going on?!!" Not just sitting there trying to remember what you ate... Come on, man. 😂

Hmm, was he piercing him with his intense gaze? I'm just watching on my phone screen, but it looked to me like he was generally looking straight ahead rather than at the killer, which I thought was smarter than direct confrontation.
@@DanHarkless_Halloween_YTPs_etc Wow, now that I rewatch, you are definitely right. And I think you nailed it, the gaze straight ahead was likely a better option to take, as it was less confrontational and ultimately caused him to keep talking.

@DevouringKing I think you may be looking too deeply into it, honestly, and it's not really your fault. The narrator makes it sound like Michael's reaction of "I would never [commit murder of my family]" as the ultimate reason for him finally being arrested, when Michael's whole performance (how he's speaking, how he's claiming he can't remember his day, the over-exaggerated reaction when he was told his daughter was deceased) during the interrogation was more damning than this one phrase alone. This is also ignoring all of the other evidence that was already being collected. I feel that the narrator was just adding some extra "flavor" in order to complete the story by saying it was "the nail in the coffin" and it's just to sensationalize it a bit more. Hope that helps! 😎👍🏻

Cheers, thanks! 👌
The psychology of the brain and behavior is fascinating.

are there any more videos of his interrogations anywhere? :o
That hat alone shows he means business
What fucking hat you babbling about I do not see a hat
I can't stop laughing at the fact this guy has a fedora superimposed on his head the whole time. When it zooms in for dramatic effect, it's just him and an even bigger fedora LOL
Mmmmmm”lady
Omg 🤣 HAHAHa
i almost spit water out my nose LOL
HAHAHA
Mi’lady
Detective does an excellent job of mirroring his body language.
So a genius didn't know to call a lawyer and remain silent?
Probably his ego
@@twkandy7033
Yep, his massive ego told him there was no need!
People who think of themselves as smarter than the rest generally have a bigger ego than the rest. Dude probably thought he could try and sell the act better by himself than someone else who practices law.
He wanted to get caught genius
So it could be said that people who are smart but also have a massive ego, are not that smart in the end.
A genius would remain silent and request counsel...
Edit: some guys seem to be very upset that a comment that makes no sense got so many likes. Let me tell you something guys: likes don't bring any food to my table, I couldn't care less about people liking my dumb comment.
I can edit the comment just like this and boom! Now it doesn't say anything! My dumb analogy is gone! Oh God, what am I gonna do now without my daily likes! I'm gonna starve to death! Hahahahaha
A better actor would have become enraged and demand answers about what happened to his family.
More like the reply to "The cookie box is empty" is "It wasnt me"

All acting was taken straight from some anime
Right?! If I were innocent I’d be freaking out or just gone.
10/10 from that detective! He outsmarted that monster without having to be on his level
The fedora on the wall behind him is the perfect touch
that-s a video watermark :)) it-s not on the wall, dude
Bro I thought it was on the wall for aliitle while too,😂😂😂
I had the same impression thinking cops decorated the room until the camera change a bit and realize it’s a watermark :)
Pls 😂😂
The perfect touch? In what way? That's a watermark bro hahajaj
A genius who wasn’t smart enough to ask for an attorney right away.
Detective Fire over here actually surprised a genius. I would like to see at least a dozen more interviews featuring him AND the hat.
can you maybe explain me the end ? Mike sayed "i would never", i dont understand why this was a nail in the coffin like the youtube narrator says. english is not my mother language, maybe thats why i dont get it.
"Lemme just place my 50 gallon hat here"
😂 seriously didn't even notice the hat until I was scrolling and saw your comment, 😂 lmao
I thought that was a satellite dish.
😂
Oh yeah found my people in the comments.
That hat goes so crazy
dunning kreuger effect in full effect. thinks he’s smarter than everyone
Cooked DJ
More like just book smarts
do you even know what that means when did he ever say he was a genius, the video maker claims he has 197 iq with no valid data to back it up, how is it the dunning kruger effect, your mere presence makes me angry because you speak without thinking god, i wish i could say the things without youtube removing my comment ahh i am just holding it because of it. he literally never said he was smarter than anyone, you probably wont reply you fuckin prick.
@@oggunlukarmy4901, your comment is a good example of this Kruger disorder.

Your is right
That "surprised" jump is meme worthy
Imagine being this detective's kid and trying to get one over on him. "So, why did I get a call from your school today?" Then he just sits there stone silent and lets you decide what route you want to take. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You would never get away with ANYTHING!
Yeah, like the one we were listening to.
I got a call from your teacher today.
Dad, I'd like to talk to a lawyer.
30 seconds in " OK Ok the silence is killing me! Say something!!! Ok ok I was talking during a test and had to take my desk in the hall and finish out there ok! Dad.....🗿
"Ok and I got a D"
😂😂
