Beatiful song,,came on the radio the night my daughter was born as i was driving home..had to pull over as the song seemed perfect for the love i felt after seeing her born..we danced together on her wedding day to this..always brings a tear to my eyes
Epic Aussie music. Love song of a bygone aussie era. Very nostalgic. Amazing is an understatement. These aussie dudes were the real deal. Talented true artists. Love old school romantic aussie ballads!!!!!!!!!
This song is pure 'love song' brilliance. Jack sings it so effortlessly and gives the lyric such emotive weight. One of my all time faves. Anther one I sing to my daughters. They adore it.
i miss southern sons a lot and Jack Jones..his angelic voice makes me believe in love again..thank for this kind of music..wanna see you perform and sing again❤
Never dreamed this would be on youtube! Didn't bother to look for it before!! This and John Farnham's "Burn for You" have much in common musically and such touching love songs
That's cos Phil Buckle from Southern Sons wrote them both. He's the one here playing the guitar. He wrote and played Burn For You for John Farnham too.
This song and his voice ...amongst the most beautiful things ever. I enjoyed singing it also in cover bands, of course, not a patch on him but a pleasurable song to sing..
Gee Jack yonkers ago remember you & the band playing at some Pub in Newcastle……… then looking over & seeing Rebecca there 😱 ❤ we had heard rumours that you two were an item. We were just happy to see her there watching you, smiling & we went over & just said ‘Hi’ & we left her alone x
I'm looking forward to see Jack Jones live for the first time when he performs as a member of The Caprettos at Hamer Hall Melbourne on Friday 20th January 2023. It's a great sign that live music is slowly but surely returning to normal scheduling and frequency post-peak-Covid times of cancellations and postponements of such concerts.
The morning sunlight, moves gently on our bed Sounds of distant traffic, float into my head Eyes slowly open and words won't be enough But what is left unspoken burns softly in your touch (Chorus) So hold me in your arms Hold me in your arms So my love, hold me in your arms Time moves without us, this room will be untouched We're safe beneath the truth now Both safe within this love (Repeat Chorus) And oh the heart in me Feels more than you can see I can't get close enough Every single day, is ours to feel this way I can't get close enough, never close enough ...
Public Announcement: Forget COVID, how the hell does this song only have 601k views. The world doesn't deserve to keep going if they haven't heard this.
@@snickersbud8799 No, they're not unfortunately. Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas has played a couple of solo shows playing the old Southern Sons songs. He's got a couple of shows coming up in 2019 as well. Unfortunately Virgil and the rest of the gang live all over the place (Jack himself is now US based), so it's pretty hard for them to get the crew together.
Always thought he was paid-off to go away cos he was as good as John Farnham! The excuse for his leaving the group was to concentrate on playing guitar - with that voice? I reckon it's sus. Soooo good. Moves me deeply.
Not sure about that conspiracy theory. Jack Jones had his 15 minutes of fame in an industry that is very fickle. I think he needed to find his own identity instead of being a Farnham clone, and that was his biggest flaw in my opinion. He was a great singer and still is. Don't be surprised if he makes it big again.
sehnaz1 sorry to say this he is no john farnham he was at john farnham guitariest I not to sure if it is truth or not that john interduct jack jones and his band at his concert at chain reactian tour don t forget he known as Rebecca Gibney husband
Lots of hits... Always and ever. Hold me in your arms. Waiting for that train. You were there. Lead me to water. Heart in danger. Plus loads of others that weren't released as singles.
I can remember a time when I would wake up at the crack of dawn and see the light beginning to shine through my window and bounce off my angels face as she was sleeping.Id get up early pack all my stuff and walk 5-6 miles down this long industrial road to a shelter and eat breakfast.I was homeless at the time and my Girlfriend had a nice studio a good job and rescued me off the street.Id still get up and walk those 5-6 miles everyday just to eat breakfast and figure out my life and where I was going, we planned on marriage after a while because she was pregnant, when my daughter arrived it was the best feeling in the world, I had a steady job, she had a awesome job 4 months into having a kid I lost the two people I loved more then anything in the entire world so I packed up a suitcase and hit the road, left everything behind me hopped on a train and ran away from my life, to make the story short I met a woman the end of that year, she rescued me from being homeless and she's been my girlfriend for 8 yrs now. She's treated me like crap but also like an angel, theres been days she's beaten me up and days she caressed me and even times she cheated on me and other times she's been the sweetest person I know, she even lit the christmas tree on fire on christmas eve and smashed all the gifts then somehow we ended up kissing and making up,She's an alcoholic at times but I love her so much I stayed and stuck through it all, I love her more then anyone will ever imagine, I lost my first wife and daughter to a tragic event and feel like if I mess this one up I will have failed my wife and daughter theres more to it then just that but anyway everynight I pray that god will guide me through it all each and every step of the way.I know he carries me but sometimes I feel like picking up the wine bottle and pulling the trigger, Its been rough and Im too much of a gentlemen to leave her.I always dream of finding romance but at the end of the day all I find is a broken Gentlemen sipping wine and playing Michael Bolton and various romantic records till I pass out. Some nights I just lay in bed watching romantic movies on laser disc drinking wine and crying myself to sleep praying that my life will change. The last 7 yrs its been a mess and ive come to realize how blessed I really am.God has given me the gift of life and thats more then I could ever ask for.I love this song.

Never know it was Southern Sons who sang this one until UA-cam recommends this video to me. Such a sweet song.
I don’t understand your comment jack jones voice is distinctive and recognisable
I thought the one who sang this song is John Farnham hehe
@leeannealegre4816 very similar voices but Farnham is on another level.

The time when rock bands use to composed heart touching music ........YOU HAVE TO STOP WHAT YOUR DOING & LISTEN.... THAT'S THE MAGIC....
Dont know why but this song just sends shivers down my spine. It's like a long hug I've been longing for all my life
Just recently been sent this song by a very special friend in Australia, I had never heard it before, but it's so beautiful...I'm now addicted!
Diddo..😃😉🖐👏👏
Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Wow. Same thing here. A man sent it to me shortly after we started talking

@the_norty_rider Correction: Phil Buckle Co-wrote "Burn for you" along with John Farnham and Ross Fraser.
I love Southern Sons during my high school years. It’s been ages but I still do love them and listen to thier songs every now and then.
This has always bored through my heart....eversince it came out. Never gets old ❤

This song is a masterpiece
A crushingly beautiful song
This song brings me to tears, reminds me of my true love sadly passed 4 years ago this month, how I miss her love and touch to this day😭

Another Southern Sons song that I absolutely love!!
They seemed perfect for one another. I've been wondering why their marriage was short lived.
I'm glad you left her alone. That was thoughtful.
She was his handler but he woke up & got out. That's why they never hit it big. If you don't join the family you don't make it.
Love this song!! Had it play at my wedding! Such an amazing Aussie vocalist!!
Actually, he was born in Manhattan,. He didn't move to Australia until he was 10.
As a child my mum used to put me to sleep to this gentle song.
The bridge in the song is brilliant. Great example of early 90s Aussie dominance. The best period of Australian music.
Oh my god! Have not heard Southern Sons for ages!!!

There has always been a 'Farnhamesque' tone to his voice. Awesome voice...and not bad on the eye either!!
He was also a backup singer for Johnny Farnham and on his record label.
Was about to write the same comment. Great voice.
He is back ups and guitar at a couple of concerts I saw.
Love the music and songs of Rick Pyrce and Southern Sons esp.the refrain part full of heartfelt emotions
An angels voice... more music please
so pleased to hear JJ is back to record an album with Rick Price, 2 magnificent voices together , what a joy that will b, can't wait to hear it
I recommend it. Awesome!!!
Love this song. Brings back great memories of 1990 at high school in caloundra in Queensland
The morning sunlight, moves gently on our bed
Sounds of distant traffic, float into my head
Eyes slowly open and words won't be enough
But what is left unspoken burns softly in your touch
(Chorus)
So hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
So my love, hold me in your arms
Time moves without us, this room will be untouched
We're safe beneath the truth now
Both safe within this love
(Repeat Chorus)
And oh the heart in me
Feels more than you can see
I can't get close enough
Every single day, is ours to feel this way
I can't get close enough, never close enough ...
