Mark YOU ARE Grand Funk Railroad!!! Everybody knows it and that is your legacy brother!!! Thank you for the inspiration over the decades you are a shining light in the darkness!
Amen! There is something very special about mark, you are right everybody knows Mark IS Grandfunk Railroad.Even now he commands an audience of size. His voice is instantly recognizable as THE voice of the group. They sure broke the mold when Mark entered this world, hes an amazing man!
What you are hearing and seeing is GRAND FUNK RAILROAD, the real Grand Funk Railroad. Donnie and Mel are now just Country Fair entertainment with out Mark. Mark Farner is GRAND FUNK RAILROAD.
@@amycarl7538 I have seen GFR several times with and without Mark. I have also met Don Brewer who is a nice person. The fact is GFR is not GFR without Mark or Mel or Don. Huge difference without any of the three especially Mark Farner.
THIS IS GRAND FUNK!!! Mark and the original GFR Should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How they are not in there already is a joke! They sold out Shea Stadium... they were the one of the best live acts in the world for a long time. Get them in there...
They sold out Shea Stadium 'faster than the Beatles did'! A real shame Mark got screwed so bad by Terry Knight. That right there is why they aren't in the HOF.
The great thing about Mark is that he doesn't smoke, or drink, so he hasn't thrashed his his vocal chords. that is why he still sounds as good today as he he did in the late 60's and into the 70's...... What a great preformer.... He really loves what he does, it's not just a job to him. He gives his all. Always has....... GFR forever!!!!!!!!
It was the first concert I ever saw with Freddie King in 1969 at the Nassau Coliseum a week before the Garden concert. That's a week before they blew the world away and today it's the most emotional concert I have ever seen. Mark is just a great guy and a great performer. He knows how to pick em. RIP Freddie!!!
@Frank Masuzzo Can anybody tell me where GF got their influence from? They have influence EVERYBODY, and I know they wanted to be a super trio like Cream, Blue Cheer etc., but they just seemed to spring up out of nowhere.
Mark was a bad mamma jammer!! God bless him. Too bad his band mates were too jealous. They have the name, but they can't even come up with any songs. He's given them everything they have.
I have seen him live and it was one of the best live shows I have attended. Professional, focused, flawless impeccable vocals and a true connection with the audience. Worldwide notoriety, corrupt management and betrayal by his former band mates and he's still humble. This show is amazing as it shows his showmanship, songwriting skills and he plays his own leads. Most songs are in the original keys. He's a treasure. And he's the grand and the funk in GFR.
One of the most underrated guitar players around!! Mark is a phenomenal guitar player and singer!🎸 Long live the timeless music of GRAND FUNK RAILROAD!!!!!
I just watched a documentary about Mark. He attributes his good health to the type of ginseng and another supplement he takes, his Cherokee heritage and the fact that he farms and runs everywhere he goes. He's a super nice guy and loves what he does. He's been married to his wife for 40+ years.
Hi mark how are you? I'm grand funk railroad followr since 1970 until now I'm 70years old now..still listen your song..I love grand funk very power full n rare..the rock MST go on carry on mark..
His voice! Like he was still 20. Gotta love the guy. The original GFR were an unstoppable locomotive, but Mark was always the engine that made them run.
I loved the power trio of GFR, Mark should go out and do ON TIME & The RED LP. I bet he would draw a big crowd. He was GFR. Mark you still are. We don’t need to hear the Brewer Hits. You wrote all the good Music.
What a great icon of old school rock 'n' roll . We should be proud to have a Mark Farner still in contention for the masses to see , and hear this American great ! He is the Captain of closer to home ! Very few are around to perform at this level . Cheers .
Every bit as electrifying as when I saw him in 1972 with GFR. He is GFR and anyone who doesn’t see that is in need of a serious musical history lesson.
Great entertainer. His energy is amazing. What I haven’t seen people mention here is…..Mark is a VERY nice guy. Was talking with him one day and I mentioned that my son was in Iraq at the time. Mark grabbed a t-shirt and wrote a really nice message on it and said “make sure to give this to him when he gets home, because he WILL be home”. Talked about music and people we know and who we’ve played with over the years…..just a nice, down to earth dude, and a Christian.
September 19, 1970 RFK Stadium Washington DC the Berlin airlift. I was 15 years old some of the bands were Pacific Gas & Electric crow the original almond brothers in a closing at grand Funk Railroad! Still one of the greatest shows I’ve seen in the last 50 years
No complains whatsoever when it relates to música, I' m talking about Quality músic. I grew up listening to the Beatles. Went through puberty with Carlos Santana and Grand Funk cheered My teen years. What else could I ask for? Thank You Lord.
Carlos Fire - Thanks for making us relive those great moments of this good music, psychedelic in our time but pleasant and listening to it now more, thanks again...
Some of us grew up with this kind of music and we took for granted that one guy could do so many things! He played guitar, wrote the songs, a great powerful voice AND played harmonica and keyboards! OUCH! Only a few guys like that. John Fogerty comes to mind. Lately I take comfort in the "old" music. It's like putting on a comfortable pair of shoes or sandals. Thanks for your comments!

Mark sounds great! Love the drummer. He took Don Brewer's style and enhanced it. Excellent! All the guys were good. Too bad few people showed up, but that's to be expected with this retro-rock stuff I guess...
A great Solid Rock Legend! His songs were good back then are good till today!! In my lifetime No Other Great Stage Rock Performer! Thank you MARK FARNER!
Mark Farner is Amazing and was the force behind GFR. He still has his chops and awesome Voice !!! Thanks Mark for Kicking ass still !!! I just watch a live concert of GFR and it just doesn't have it anymore. they suck.
Um, no he didn't actually, Brewer wrote American Band. And John Ellison wrote Some Kind of Wonderful. BUT what he DID was make them his own. There in boys and girls is the difference.
The fact that he's still alive and healthy is a testament to his character. He could play well, write great songs and sing better than most people out there. We had a couple of guys like that in the sixties, like John Fogerty in CCR. They were not appreciated by their band members and that's a shame on them. Jealousy is a sickness. But thanks to the recordings we can enjoy their work forever.
I really agree, the full package. And what a swing! The only lead guitarrist who soloed so so naturally while walking on stage by the time he started with Grand Funk. Me too, a huge fan, although I know nowadays less than I would like about their/his carrer. A fantascitc, complete musician (and what an easy-going, generous personality...
I in 9th grade when their 1st album came out. seen mark once and grand funk twice.great music for decades.
Mark Farner is, was, and will always be the heart & soul of Grand Funk Railroad! Without him there is no GFR!
One of the greatest singer, song writers of all time. One of the best frontmen ever!
Mark YOU ARE Grand Funk Railroad!!!

Thank you for the inspiration over the decades you are a shining light in the darkness!
1970, 8 track tape GFR. MY FAVORITE BAND.

Yes, indeed. You speak the truth.
MARK inossidabile, ma anche grande il batterista !!!!!!! Visti GFR a Milano Vigorelli 1971 con Mario compagno di banco ai Geometri. Delirio puro.

It’s because the R&RHOF is not about Music, it’s all about Politics. In the words of Ozzy - Fuck Them!
Saw Grand Funk at the Long Beach Arena at the top of their game. Yes, they were great. My girlfriend almost lost her mind.
@@TheStarzzguitar from old footage of them HIM; I can see why; what a hot number Mark was, DAMN.
And Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in one game for Polk High 😆

@Frank Masuzzo well, who didn't?
