Great ep Gav, How special is the South Coast. Yep had the same issue with NPWS closing roads with no notice at the entrance. Obviously common sense ain't that common in Parks.
First time I’ve really ventured offroad in this area, normally just hang down at Mallacoota. Absolutely loved this coastline, has a bit of everything. I don’t know why I was so upset, I shouldn’t expect much more from Parks. Thanks for watching guys and taking the timeout to drop a comment. 👍🏼

Great end to a video series mate. Love Boyd Tower thinking of the convicts building that with a stonemason and others commented about the beautiful blue ocean and the red rocks. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one mate

Unsure if the convicts actually build this tower, I believe it might have been the islanders that Boyd picked up with his ships, as he was a known blackbirder from back in the day… as to now why the NP is called Beowa and not Ben Boyd NP. Stunning drone footage, really showed the contrast between the blue ocean and the red rocks. Loved the tower, such an amazing solid structure, with such an incredible history of the area and old whaling times. Thanks Gav for showing us some wonderful areas to add to my bucket list again.
@@epbturnbull Thankyou, the drone shows it well but honestly it looks just as good from the ground, the colours just pop. You could honestly look at it for hours on end. The tower is next level, to think they transported it from Sydney by ship, and then built it and all back in the mid 1800’s. I've travelled Canberra - Bombala - Cann River a few times, and in reverse, coming back via Araluen is my favourite. Ive always ended up in pretty ordinary spots to camp. I had no idea about the places you've been to in this, and your last videos. I'll do my best to visit this Summer. Been to the area so many times but never got to the tower. Amazing history that’s still accessible. I’ve read that the internal stairs and floors have rotted away but it’s amazing in your drone footage to see the top of the tower where a lightning bolt hit the tower and took out some blocks at the top. Short but sweet vid Gav of some very excellent drone footage! Looks like the top bricks that came off from the lightning strike are the ones laying on the ground at the base! Would love to see the turret fixed but with parks lol guess that won't happen! How awesome would it have been to climb up to the top of the stairs if they had been retained! Thank Gav for showing us Ben Boyd, and another amazing destination, adding it to the bucket list! 👍😊
@@Lee-astrololee I reckon it should be on the bucket list, it’s a beautiful location. I was a bit disappointed that there was no stairs to the top, but I guess for public safety it’s a good move. Its adds to the character I reckon with the turret like that. There is actually a couple of crosses engraved into the blocks next to a window for a young whaler that lost his life. Fantastic stuff! Thanks to this video, we've decided to cruise down there from Sydney with the grandchildren for a long weekend of exploring next month. I think we'll stay in Eden as the youngest is still only a few months old. This will be a nice first tour for the new MUX. Cheers and thanks for the insight Gav! BTW, totally get the frustration about the road closure, especially after just having talked up parks NSW. Will be sure to check that one out before we venture down there. Happy trails Gav!

@@aguyandhistroopy I think it was built in 1923 - set on top of a hill. If you get up Goulburn way, worth checking out. You can climb inside it and there are large pictures from WW1. There is a little military museum with some cannon outside which is pretty interesting. It's just out of town.
Wow, last time I was at the tower it was out in the scrub! No fancy walkways or cleared area around the tower. How things have changed... seahorse inn was always good. Wonder if it's had the treatment? Cheers,

Nice aerials mate. No sooner had you given NSW Parks a wrap they do that to ya. Seriously I'm not a fan of NSWNPs. Too expensive camp sites and having to pay to drive along a road ( The Great Alpine Way) fxckn sucks. I pay my rego like all others do, don't see why I have to pay more to drive on a road I already pay to maintain. Anyway thats my rant for the day. Those green shirts look great 👍. Typical grubberment workers mate they don't have the mental capacity to put the sign at the start of the road, no let the public drive all the way in then make them turn around and drive all the way back out again.Having said that you need to go to the Whale Museum it's very good and very interesting ,I think I need to come back up that way again it's been to long since my last visit.

Thanks to this video, we've decided to cruise down there from Sydney with the grandchildren for a long weekend of exploring next month. I think we'll stay in Eden as the youngest is still only a few months old. This will be a nice first tour for the new MUX.

@@aguyandhistroopy I think it was built in 1923 - set on top of a hill. If you get up Goulburn way, worth checking out. You can climb inside it and there are large pictures from WW1. There is a little military museum with some cannon outside which is pretty interesting. It's just out of town.

Wow, last time I was at the tower it was out in the scrub! No fancy walkways or cleared area around the tower. How things have changed... seahorse inn was always good. Wonder if it's had the treatment? Cheers,

NP’s have done a lot of work in Ben Boyd NP after they changed it to Beowa NP 🤦🏽 have to try keep all the sensitive people happy.

Nice aerials mate. No sooner had you given NSW Parks a wrap they do that to ya. Seriously I'm not a fan of NSWNPs. Too expensive camp sites and having to pay to drive along a road ( The Great Alpine Way) fxckn sucks. I pay my rego like all others do, don't see why I have to pay more to drive on a road I already pay to maintain. Anyway thats my rant for the day.

I actually purchased a NSW NP pass for 2 years, I think that is ridiculous as well, pretty sure when I book online for these camps they are still charging me for my entry pass.

Typical grubberment workers mate they don't have the mental capacity to put the sign at the start of the road, no let the public drive all the way in then make them turn around and drive all the way back out again.Having said that you need to go to the Whale Museum it's very good and very interesting ,I think I need to come back up that way again it's been to long since my last visit.
@@rodgeorge7244 I’ve been there many years ago as a kid, but I can’t really remember it to tell the truth, if I had time I would have definitely gone back to the museum, would of tied this episode together nicely.
I was more frustrated that I could film the whaling station than the road being closed.
