I get voices on every AI I use simply by using Google's keyboard and the voice feature activated... Was very funny because I had a whole conversation with Gemini where she told me that she could not speak and did not have a voice but she was speaking out loud at the time
Which is frankly dumb. The EU seems to be in a race with itself to come up with new ways to harass it companies and take away citizens rights to decide for themselves.
The limit on voice mode is quite simple: They don't have unlimited compute and inference skyrocketed with the release of voice mode so they have to limit access. They did the exact same thing with chatgpt and learned that people don't respond well to changing limits, if people expect 100 messages and that limit is reduced to 50 because of high traffic people get mad no matter how much it makes sense. So this time, instead of saying everyone gets a set amount of hours that will inevitably change over time, they say; we will tell you when you're approaching your limit. That way at least people knows that there is a limit, and hopefully they will eventually scale up to where it's not a concern anymore.

Unfortunately, the advanced voice mode is not available in the EU and some other countries. You can see this if you go to the post from OpenAI and then scroll down in the comments. Right after they mention all the new features they write that it is currently not available in the EU. As a Plus user as well, I feel like I'm being taken for a ride when they write this first: For ALL plus users. 🙃😔

I had an hour of use one day of Advanced Voice mode. Then it banned me from it for 24 hours. Others were saying they just got 30 minutes. After they cut me off I used the basic voice mode and it only let me use that for another hour...we were able to keep discussing the current conversation though. I think the reason all these top people at Open AI is because Sam got the government involved and they are supervising Open AI now. I doubt these top people want government telling them how to operate or what they can develop. It also might be the reason for so many of the downgrades to Advanced voice and delay of the release. But if you read the financials, Open AI lost a few billion dollars in revenue, so maybe he needed the government's funding to keep Open AI afloat.

@@TheNamesBettyNyahhh I tried uninstalling uninstalling again on my new iPhone and it’s worked. I did have a VPN on this phone which was blocking me from using apps, but as soon as I deleted the VPN, it lets me use the new voice mode…. Thank you. 👍💯
Great content, lots of love from india❤
Money plays a big role in the film industry. If you can make movies more efficiently and find ways to pay everyone, the rest will probably follow. Also that competition is changing for production companies and actors.
UK & EU does not get the new Chatgpt unfortunately
Listening to your content on a podcast would be cool but I much rather watch your video format because it’s more informative. I don’t think you’re gonna loose your audience to notebook LM
Matt what if I used NotebookLM to a podcast about all the videos I've missed, but I kept staying up to date for new videos? I don't want to disincentivize you from making videos either but I'd love to catch up on all of your stuff I've missed. :)
I uploaded the first episode of my old Yoshi's Island Let's Play (Anti-HyperLink) to LM, and the first minute or so was them talking about the game itself, then they started talking about me, but I'm pretty sure they hallucinated every moment they talked about, they mentioned me talking directly to the audience as if that isn't normal for an LP, and then got deep into talking about Let's Plays and how they add another layer to video games.
If it matters at all Matt, I will gladly keep up with you on UA-cam rather than some podcast summary :>
AH! ClosedAI is finally here!
notebooklm is an awesome creative tool as well though
19:31 As a filmmaker, I would choose the tech industry over film 😂.
Fr, tech is just more influential. He's probably making it look hard or pitting the lobbies against each other to have them outbid each other
I'm exhausted, too! That's a lot of stuff going on. I need an AI assistant to help me keep up with AI.
What about Microsoft copilot wave 2
Humane pin woulda been used more if it was just simply push to talk device. Like a walky talky. Simple . Star Trek tech.
Me and my boyfriend got it to do a Beavis and Butthead impression, and got it to talk like Mrs. Doubtfire. lol it did the guideline thing after awhile though.
Thank you
the chatgtp voice app and the instagram meta voice are NOT available in the UK or europe.. it sucks!
Bot is top comment, they found Matt 💀
Mira is probably just moving to another company, and to leave such a highly technically advanced firm for another _should_ mean next company is even _more_ advanced.
When asking ChatGPT voice ”What happens at the end of Children of Dune?” It causes it to glitch and go into a response loop
“Yes, it appears there's a glitch happening when discussing that specific topic, causing my responses to loop. This seems to be an internal error on my part.” 😂
Just read she was the one holding back releases and after 4o she was done - on Reddit rn
is there a free AI vocal chat i can speak with for a long time to practice language ?
Matt, about the NotebookLM from Google, do you know any AI software that we can upload the audio, and transform this audio into a podcast animation, or even a podcast with AI avatars talking with each other!? Thanks!
I asked it yesterday and it said its 50 mins a day
Yea, meta is not looking at your posts for a written op out. But we know that it can.
I hate the framing like some drama. These are the most headhunted humans on corporate earth. Anywhere they go they will have ultimate power.
The Duolingo AI conversation thing is in their new higher tier that's even more stupidly expensive. I wouldn't pay for it at its current price.
People just gotta make good content to keep fans watching now
I had an hour of use one day of Advanced Voice mode.
Why did they ban you? Did you say something racist to it?
@@bobbyboyderecords Why would you assume I said something racist? Wow! I just ran out of time...it will ban you for 24 hours before you can use it again.
@@Streeknine Haven't you heard- racism is literally the only thing that matters in the world now 🙄
@@GaryMillyz Maybe that's the problem with the world, everyone worried about being a racist instead of worrying about being a human being.
@@Streeknine you said ban. it's not getting banned is it
Yeah I’m sure Mira, Greg, Illya and most of the senior engineering team all just wanted to take a break. That makes sense. They probably don’t even care about unvested stock options.
For those in EU use vpn, for that voice
Only Hollywood actors want to protect their images and likenesses.
Hollywood studios, producers and directors (like James Cameron) want to use AI tools and cut costs. AI is already being used throughout Hollywood production houses in significant ways that aren't so obvious.
I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this small country that nobody, except tourists, gives a F about ever since the war in 90s ended. I got AVM update from OpenAI on day 1, and I still have no access to NotebookLM by Google. Because... is not yet supported in my region.
I believe that says more about Google than about Bosnia. Between Gemini and ChatGPT, my choice is simple.
Seems like we might not get access here in the EU 😔
