A fantastic review with solid points!
I dont think they wanted to make an old school shooter, neither a modern one. I think they wanted to make their OWN shooter, simply by combining both genres perfectly, no games were able to balance old and new as well as this game, even though there is the well made influencial "Wolfenstein: The New Order/The Old Blood" which showed that modern campaign FPSes still have potential and "Doom 2016", which slapped the gaming community in the face, showing how shooters are really supposed to be made.
But this is the greatest shooter of all time, no nostalgia blinding goggles. Don't get me wrong, we still have gems like Titanfall 2.
Nice. Is this one better than doom 2016? If you play that one. I liked Doom2016 but it was a bit monotone imo.
I’ve had a lot more fun in eternal than 2016.
I preferred Eternal. Its got more varied locations, with more colour. And the action is even more hectic. It's like the developers listened to everything that was praised in the 2016 version, and gave us even more of that.
