I keep forgetting how much work it is to take Hope apart. It was a very descriptive video. You gave us a lot of good angles. It's going to be a nice series getting Hope back on track :)

Glad you liked it. Just wish I was able to have started sooner. A lot of work in a short amount of time. Trying to make no mistakes.

I leave the center hanger, exhaust, & shocks on.
It gives you a handle to grab with the center hanger on.
The shock bottoms I bungee over the luggage rack to keep them out the way.
Once the engine is lowered to ground, lift the scoot rack & push it forward.
When installing , have screw drivers ready to pin the mounting holes till you can get the engine Up straight enough for the bolts.
....I just rebuilt 2 of my engines last month.
The worst 1 got me for $140 in parts.
The 2nd engine was @ $120 for a top end kit & a new camshaft.

All good info as always. As mentioned couple different ways to to it. Everything has to be moved to the new engine anyway. What CC engines are you rebuilding?

    • @noneshere

I have 150s , their actually easier to rebuild then the 50s imo.
Its @$100 for all the specialty tools to rebuild the 150s.

Mine was almost done. Yes the basics are done!! Ive been waiting for my rs8 clutch since i didnt change my clutch..for now i have racing cdi and coil got it from amazon. I was trying to measure her front for fitment of yamaha nmax yes just to be sure i dont wanna buy a front fairings without looking the fitments im very meticulous when it comes to fitments yes including her bbk coz i dont wanna messed up my bike.. when i change her cdi, with a stock cvt(the belts and front variator and fans) man my bike was very strong!! My friends used to say "damn bro your bike was strong!!"
"Your bike was mamaw (means a monster machine, a strong bike) close to kawasaki250r and cbr 600. I was like "na haha we just did the basics and i want to focus on her acceleration". Yes ser, after that my concentration was the acceleration (arangkada in my language).

Nice. When I work on my Chopper, I use a regular fold up ladder and ratchet straps as a hoist along with my floor jack.

If u have a center stand you dont have to drop the engine on the ground, you can just pull the chassis forward and off.

Hey Kachi I see you've got an oil decompression tube. I know that it helps with lowering the crank case pressure but I don't understand why that pressure is a bad thing. Will it harm my scoot if I don't install this?

    • @kachiskid
      @kachiskid  2 роки тому +3

I use mine you have the oil flow freely through my crankcase, while expelling gases. I truly think it helps keep my oil a little cooler also. I need all the help I can get with a 180cc engine with no oil cooler. Won't harm your scooter if not installed. Also when rebuilding an engine (which I've done 3-4 times) you add extra oil. 1100ml instead of the normal 750-900ml.
