You're pretty spot on. Yukinobu Tatsu, the author, confirmed that she was a teenage girl aspiring to be a ballerina, but got pregnant. The father abandoned her, and she fell on hard times and turned to desperate options to take care of her daughter.
In the manga you see the mother and daughter's soul together going to the afterlife, which suggests that the daughter died at the age of 5, which can be speculated and this is just a theory, is that the child was used in organ trafficking, which would make sense as payment for them, otherwise there would be no real reason to take the child😢
I still think that Turbo Granny said that there's nothing strangers can do about it on purpose to push Aira into action, since she isn't a stranger for Acro Silky and therefore would be the only one to grant her soul peace, because neither of the others would be able to.
I don't know if you guys realised or not, but in the dance scene, Silky was actually on top of a rooftop. She danced one last time before leaping off the building. The manga was more graphic but the anime censored it due to s*icide being a very taboo topic in japan.
I’ve seen ppl give clarifications on so many reactions I’ve seen, even on ones that never explicitly say they didn’t pick up on her cause of death. I wonder if it’s cus I just missed the fact they missed it, or if ppl are just spamming it everywhere presuming they didn’t.
@@NoonMountain Many Reactors didn't notice the crack sound, which is what confused them on how she died. Most of them assume that the Dance part was a before death recollection, and the Mother actually died on the road after she failed to chase after her daughter.
What broke me is at the end it was closure for Aira as well as Silky because Aira got to say the things to a mother that she never had. You are right when saying Aira didn't have to do that in the end but i believe for her it just felt right and sincere. Really brought it all together the writing is so good.
Her child died that night. It’s implied she died young in the same dress. I saw the lil hints of depression and I noticed the rooftop. She danced one more time while thinking of her daughter and leaped off the building. No one helped her. No neighbors, no coworkers and no family members. When she lost track of the car, she lost her daughter that night. Loan sharks are predators. They loan money, slap late fees and give work with barely any pay so you become a cash cow for them. Any money she saved was most likely her telling “clients” she wanted more money and when her “boss” found out, they took everything. Including her child. In the manga, they actually came in during the party. Cake on the floor. Just like in real life, theirs no way the mom would know how her daughter died. I mean she never found her afterward and those monsters also never show up again.
I think this is the first time anyone put together that she probably fell short of her installment or payment or whatever because of the dress. The story is left deliberately vague, but I think there's enough context clues, personally. The more I think about Acro's situation, the worse it gets. A lot of people think her daughter died based on a panel in the manga - and, it's fucked up, but given who took her and why, it might be better than the alternative. Opinions probably vary. Can't blame Acro for going full murder-ghost for a millisecond.
11:35 SPOT ON! Thank you for noticing. The realisation that set in on the director is why this is an 10/10 episode. So much behind so little words. Just pure storytelling.
When I first saw the dancing scene I was overwhelmed by everything going on and assumed the mother was already dead and she was dancing in some kind of spiritual plane. It wasn’t until the lights started racing by and then the thud that I realized I was very wrong and immediately went back to watch the scene again and picked up on all the little details I missed. What I thought was a lake was a flooded rooftop after the storm, and in the ripples you can see the tiles. The stars are split against a cityscape, and as she leaps, for just a couple frames you can see her feet on the edge of the building. Made for a really gut-wrenching shift in perspective as far as how she actually died.
You're correct. In the manga, she's doing suicidal jump with her last dance but in the anime, they had to toned it down. And also in the manga, the mother reunited with her daughter which means that the daughter also died probably not long after she was taken by the gangster/yakuza.
That's exactly how I viewed it. I was just awestruck by the visuals and didn't catch the details at first. When I heard the thud I thought, "... wait what?", rewatched and it all clicked.
I don't know the details, but the vibe I get with Acrobatic Silky's life is she was probably a professional or professionaly-trained dancer who came on some hard times and prioritized her daughter over continuing with that. At least that's the vibe I get. The manga also shows this, but apparently she didn't just bleed out. She was bleeding out and realized she would probably not ever get to save her daughter and jumped off of a roof. You kind of see it hinted at in the visuals of her jumping and that last "thud". Good reaction as usual. You guys got some good insight and comments on things,a nd I especially enjoy you in th queue of reacitons for great episodes like this one.
Kikuko Inoue, who is the voice of Acrobatic Silky, plays Kasumi, the eldest daughter of the Tendo family, in Ranma. She has appeared in many of Hideo Kojima's works, and played in Lady Dimitrescu Resident Evil 8. Aira's voice actor also plays Kuno's younger sister. This person was the voice actor for Gabi in Attack on Titan. And the acrobatic silky child is the voice actor of Tsukuyomi from "Osinoko". She is 27 years old, but her usual voice sounds quite young. This time, he really gave a wonderful performance that made my heart tighten. I will post the title of Kikuko Inoue's video about game audio. You can watch it right away by copying and pasting, but sorry, there are no English subtitles, so just enjoy the atmosphere → 【声優】ゲームの井上 喜久子集【Japanese Voice Actor : Inoue Kikuko】 By the way, Kikuko Inoue has been mentioned among anime fans as one of the candidates to replace Atsuko Tanaka, who played the role of Flamme in Frieren, who passed away this year. As a reminder, this is only among fans.
they brought out the sad man piano keys for this one normally the backstories/explanations of how we got here of who we are fighting don't normally get me, but this one was so tragic and elegant in the way it was told
0:25 : Keep in mind or notepad about what you said for season 2 or Part 2 of Dandadan 😉😊I read the manga but i'll never though this anime's version was so awesome made (Animations & music). It's really a plus to the Manga, i re-discover this moment. The way we saw a story in 360° like the music box of a woman dancing.More infos about this poor woman, she worked in so many jobs even prostitution then when she lost her child, she made a last dance a jump from a building/balcony. Aira and the Yokai share a same pain, the lost of their loved one Mother/daughter and they share at the end this pain and this forgiveness/appeasement. Good job to staff who made this episode.
So I'm guessing every ghost is going to have a tragic backstory. It kinda makes sense when you think about it, they would have probably moved on otherwise.
Great episode. Best piano music. The fact that they give use opsong after saying " this girl is dead." How we supposed to enjoy the OP? But I still enjoyed it because it is a remedy. LOL
Unfortunately, when Aira hopes that they both move on to a kinder world, it means that Silky's daughter had passed away too. Probably a short time after she was take 😢
@@JasonGalia No, that was her spirit just being delusional. She had forgotten what she was searching for, her daughter, and clung to the thing that reminded her of that which was Aira Shiratori. Her saying Aira was her daughter doesn't literally mean that her actual daughter's name was also Aira, it's just a delusion.
@@JasonGalia no shes not. Neither silky nor her daughter's name was ever revealed in the manga. Her daughter's name being Aira is a misconception/headcanon
@@JasonGaliathat’s unconfirmed. Named could be similar or maybe it’s just delusional ghost puting new girl she just learned about in place of her daughter.
Thank you for your wonderful videos. I'm not good at English, so I try to use the Google translation app. If a Japanese person watches this, they can see that she was extremely poor. Her tone is very elegant, the room is very tidy, and she has experience in ballet, so we can assume that she was originally from a wealthy family. We don't know why, but she lost her husband and ended up in debt. She had to work, but her work was just simple hard labor, not a job that an average woman would want to choose. We can assume that this is because she had never worked and did not have the social qualifications or licenses. The reason why they always eat curry on rice is because it can be made in large quantities at once and can be frozen. In the meal scenes, cheap toilet paper is depicted instead of high-quality tissues. Their clothes are pajamas or gym clothes, clothes with the same pattern that are gradually fading and dirty... These are not exaggerated expressions, but are everyday scenes in Japan today. That's why it's easy to sympathize with and painful.
I think Nasty's the first reactor I've seen who caught on that her buying the dress, to give that moment of happiness to her daughter, is what caused it all to come crashing down. A mother's love killing their own daughter.
11:24 it's true she didn't make it, but it was afterwards, when she's dancing it's done on top of a building and she ends her life by jumping, that's what is happening when the world seems to be turning around her and the thud sound is the impact with the floor... And it's implied the child didn't make it, most likely trafficked
12:00 This detail is what pains me the most. Not only she lost her daughter and life, but also her own identity. Without memories, her ghost wandered without a purpose for how long who knows. She couldn't even avenge her daughter and herself. I'm glad that Aira helped her soul passing to the afterlife in peace, but i can't helped but feeling frustrated that she never has a chance to get her justice or revenge. We never know if karma comes to those yakuza thugs/debt collectors eventually, but i hope that is the case. Imagining if the mother retained her memories after becoming a ghost. Hmm, i can see herer having a field day with these two kidnappers (haunting and tormenting those thugs mercilessly, of courses). And seriously, that would be a very satisfied scene to behold.

Those guys that came for the money and took the child are probably Yakuza.. she might've used some of the money she was supposed to give them to buy that Dress for her daughter.. sad..
@@YoonJoonseoh I honestly don't know how Loan sharks operate.. but I've seen plenty of references to Yakuza.. all they care about is money. That child was probably sold off to retrieve whatever she owed them. The fact they just carried a screaming child through the street could also mean that they are definitely some kind of Mobsters and the neighborhood was probably afraid of getting involved! I don't think Loan Sharks would find it easy to do what we saw and get away with it. They could've taken everything else in the apartment to sell off rather than take a child. But anyway, it's up to our imagination and understanding to figure out what happened, the Author didn't specifically confirm anything, not even what happened to the Child. Maybe that last bit with the Mother and child walking away in the Manga and from what Aira said, the Child passed away along with the mother and moved on to the Afterlife!
It’s fun to see people react to how ridiculous & sad this series can get. Judging from how it was drawn in the manga…the kid is probably dead at this point. There’s a cut panel basically showing Silky & her kid reuniting in what appears to be the afterlife. I guess they couldn’t show it for censorship reasons. It was made more clear in the manga that Silky died by jumping off a building, but the anime made it more subtle probably for censorship reasons.
From my Interpertation Silky was a Ballerina who got pregnant and sacrificed her career to take care of her daughter. Somehow she ended up in debt with the yakuza and became a prostitute. She eventually took some money she got from selling herself to buy her daughter a birthday gift. Yakuza found out and basically beat her and took her daughter to human traffic her. She tried to stop them couldn't make it and in the end she killed herself out of despair by doing one last dance off the roof of a building...
Rock wondered about where the daughter would be. Well, in the manga, Acro Silky was reunited with her. With her very small daughter. As in, it's likely her child passed not long agter she did. It speculation, but I don't think anyone expected her daughter to live long and healthy after being taken by homicidal loansharks. Daaaaark af arc, man.
i really like your reactions for this; not for nothing, a few other channels i follow didn’t even realize it was her pimp. which isn’t a problem, it’s either naïveté or people just don’t know. what i do hope is that this episode highlights yakuza sex trafficking because this is literally happening right now. making a show explaining it is great, but i hope it causes an awareness of it that helps slow it down. side note: i dislike that it seems like youtube doesn’t like you: sometimes your videos show up on my feed but most of the time i have to search for them.
All those girls in those JAV aren't there because it's fun and free money. Scams, poverty, debt, 'contracts' you can't refuse, etc... It's happening in so many places.
@@overseasaniki13it’s actually sends us into a moral conundrum. Do you think it’s better or worse to assume they killed her immediately or not? Now that’s a dark thought.
i saw a comment on another video reaction the mom dancing after they took her daughter , is her dancing in the rooftop of a building before committing suicide , there's a sequence were you can see she jumps and then the noise when she hits the ground
I’m mad they didn’t show the part with silky and her daughter in the anime. Her daughter died when she was still a kid but silky and her daughter are together in the afterlife
YaBoyRocklee... just want to point out that Kids and Cats can are hyper sensitive to dead. Plus the fact Aira lost her mom at the same time Acrobatic Silky lost her daughter created a temporary connection.
Yhis is the first reaction someone mentioned the reason they came after her was because she skimmed the money. Most reactions I have seen also dont realize she was a sex worker.
See, I'd immediately firgured that the lady WAS a ballet dancer, but maybe hot pregnant and no one would hire her after something so scandalous or inconvenient happened. She is just way too damn good at it and passionate about it to have just picked some up because her barely-not-a-toddler was into it.
I llke the show don't tell approach. I understand that she was a prostitute and she withheld money from her bosses to buy the red dress for her daughter and they found out. Then both she and her daughter paid with their lives.
WAITTTTT, WTF DID I JUST SO DUMB CAUSE I JUST REALIZE THAT SO LONG... THAT NOT AIRA MOM?? BUT THAT WOMAN JUST CALL AIRA HIS LITTLE CHILD CAUSE HES FORGOT HIS CHILD?? OMAGA I THOUGHT THAT AIRA BEFORE PINK HAIR OMAGAAAA IM SO STUPID
Sorry adorkable but the child is dead as well. This also goes with a small disagreement with dr.nasty Silky was in debt to the Mafia which is the last people you want to borrow or owe money too. So in the case of being her pimps if it was like that they would have had silky kidnapped and used her for *things* till she paid them back. Whlie it arguably said they wouldn't do that it is not always the case here. And as for adorkable the child is dead they didn't hesitate to kill her because they wanted that money and didn't care how they got it aira in the manga shows this by saying bye to both of them.
I really hope you guys read the manga version of this episode the creator goes into way more detail of the acrobatic lady backstory the chapter in the manga is 16 and 17 it gave me goosebumps and mad my skin crawl🙏🏽 go please read!
Idk why people keep thinking the daughter is alive. I haven't read the Manga, but I'm pretty sure that little girl has to be dead. She was literally kidnapped by gangster men who almost killed her mother. Why would they keep an annoying 5 year old crying child alive? If there's a slim chance she is, she's most likely a prostitute.
Watching reactions of episodes like this and seeing reactors with absolutely no response other than a dumbass joke or just laughing instead of getting the weight of the episode and the depth is so telling about their actual intelligence. Talking to you lightbulb dome on the right.
Kind of? Dandadan is unpredictable. Every arc will have some sadness, the amount varies. If this arc was about motherhood, the next is about fatherhood.
She definitely got put to rest in peace because of Aira’s hug and words. That’s the whole point of that scene, and how Aira is impacted by this choice in the future episodes. Even if Aira wasn’t her child, she gave her peace that she was a good mother so that she can move on to the afterlife.
The kid died, they reunited in the afterlife. Anime hasn't conveyed the ending from source material accurately, aside from that it was good adaptation.

You guys got some good insight and comments on things,a nd I especially enjoy you in th queue of reacitons for great episodes like this one.
that ed gave me the same feeling when "You Are My special" started playing at the end of the ep in jjk. COMPLETE 180 turn
Y’all had the best analysis of episode 7 this week! Great job…wear the crown well!😊
Appreciate that! 🙏
You can watch it right away by copying and pasting, but sorry, there are no English subtitles, so just enjoy the atmosphere
→ 【声優】ゲームの井上 喜久子集【Japanese Voice Actor : Inoue Kikuko】
By the way, Kikuko Inoue has been mentioned among anime fans as one of the candidates to replace Atsuko Tanaka, who played the role of Flamme in Frieren, who passed away this year.
As a reminder, this is only among fans.
I usually see most people speculate that the mother died sometime in the 70s or 80s, so probably even before Aira's parents were born.
19:10 great observation and analysis, well said, that's exactly what happened.
they brought out the sad man piano keys for this one
normally the backstories/explanations of how we got here of who we are fighting don't normally get me, but this one was so tragic and elegant in the way it was told
Outstanding 👏 👏 👏
From story, writing, music, animation, directing and the va's, absolute perfection.
Director is one of the only reactors who caught that it was probably her pimps that took her daughter. Which makes things even darker.
The mom's voice actress did an amazing job this episode
its said that when youre a little kid youre pure of heart and you can see far more then the eyes of an adult
Acro-Silky is the same voice actress as Palm from HunterxHunter
The kid is sadly dead. "Take them to a kinder world." In manga you can also see them reunite in the afterlife.
WARNING: Do NOT Watch This Episode alongside A Season Binge of Arcane
Cause You will be dehydrated…FROM SO MUCH CRYING!!!
😰😰😭😭😭
Probably a short time after she was take 😢
As a musician, i have NEVER heard more heart breaking music than when Aira's mom died.
That was more gut destroying than Naruto's Sadness and Sorrow
That's not aira's mom. Silky and aira's mom were 2 separate people
@@erfanthered9801 silky's daughter is also named Aira
You are one of the few people to notice that the money came out of the envelope.
She didn’t have all the money. Cause she short changed collections.
Yeah that hurt my soul and i called my mom after to tell her i love her
I think Nasty's the first reactor I've seen who caught on that her buying the dress, to give that moment of happiness to her daughter, is what caused it all to come crashing down.
This Episode was both Beautiful 🤩 with the animation & Brutal 😭 with the story which in the manga it showed more of her as a sex worker & that after her dance at the end she jumped off a building taking her life, so R.I.P.

Those guys that came for the money and took the child are probably Yakuza.. she might've used some of the money she was supposed to give them to buy that Dress for her daughter.. sad..
I think they are loan sharks
@@YoonJoonseohsome loan sharks have ties with the yakuza
One feature in the manga when she died she already had the dress and height of silky before fully becoming the yokai
Ngl this episode was like a gut punch
Rock wondered about where the daughter would be. Well, in the manga, Acro Silky was reunited with her. With her very small daughter. As in, it's likely her child passed not long agter she did. It speculation, but I don't think anyone expected her daughter to live long and healthy after being taken by homicidal loansharks. Daaaaark af arc, man.
thanks for the vid - first reaction to catch the fact she took the money from her yakuza payment to buy the dress. - cheers
i really like your reactions for this; not for nothing, a few other channels i follow didn’t even realize it was her pimp. which isn’t a problem, it’s either naïveté or people just don’t know. what i do hope is that this episode highlights yakuza sex trafficking because this is literally happening right now. making a show explaining it is great, but i hope it causes an awareness of it that helps slow it down.
side note: i dislike that it seems like youtube doesn’t like you: sometimes your videos show up on my feed but most of the time i have to search for them.
All those girls in those JAV aren't there because it's fun and free money. Scams, poverty, debt, 'contracts' you can't refuse, etc... It's happening in so many places.
the kid died and no this isnt a spoiler because the backstory and her getting kidnapped was supposed to imply that she was taken and killed
The sale of children's organs, in the past, the amount of organs on the black market in Japan. A child's organs can reach up to 20,000 US dollars.
@@overseasaniki13 dawg wat
@@overseasaniki13it’s actually sends us into a moral conundrum. Do you think it’s better or worse to assume they killed her immediately or not? Now that’s a dark thought.
@@overseasaniki13 I pray those b@stares that trafficked in that rot in the deepest pits of Tartarus for all eternity.
I said last week Aira and Silky mommy best girls and I wasn't lying
i saw a comment on another video reaction the mom dancing after they took her daughter , is her dancing in the rooftop of a building before committing suicide , there's a sequence were you can see she jumps and then the noise when she hits the ground
i mean aira said the reason she acts that way is because of the promise she made to her dead mother she just went the wrong way with teenage brain
For those who want closure. Please refer to Dandadan Chapter 17. May it help you cope.
the water on the building is because the rain
Aira VA is also Uravity from MHA
I’m mad they didn’t show the part with silky and her daughter in the anime. Her daughter died when she was still a kid but silky and her daughter are together in the afterlife
20:30 When she was dancing, I think it was a building, and while dancing, she jumped from there.
YaBoyRocklee... just want to point out that Kids and Cats can are hyper sensitive to dead. Plus the fact Aira lost her mom at the same time Acrobatic Silky lost her daughter created a temporary connection.
Yep. Granny turbo literally said that children are susceptible to it in the previous episode as well
oh no, such a sad backstory...
anyway! silly cat doing cat things!
didnt see tears in this reactions
About her real child, sad to say, she's also dead, in the manga, there was a panel with Acrobat Silky holding her daughter's hand in the afterlife.
2:19 no offense but that was a dumb comment to make. Okarun literally said just before that, there were too many obstacles. He COULDN'T run fast!
U know... in the manga they are more explicit about Bailarina´s Jobs. hard background
Then both she and her daughter paid with their lives.
sadly the child is dead
Didn't know you had a tv up on the ceiling too
So sad. She dance on the roof to her death. She could not continue ballet after she got pregnant. Had to get all kinds of jobs.
She jumped of the building
forgive TurboGranny words since she is a Yokai too and has no manners.
Yes lol
Sorry adorkable but the child is dead as well. This also goes with a small disagreement with dr.nasty
Silky was in debt to the Mafia which is the last people you want to borrow or owe money too.
First time Im the first viewer of a youtube video, It is cool
It’s pronounced like eye-ra her name is Ai-ra
Idk why people keep thinking the daughter is alive. I haven't read the Manga, but I'm pretty sure that little girl has to be dead. She was literally kidnapped by gangster men who almost killed her mother. Why would they keep an annoying 5 year old crying child alive? If there's a slim chance she is, she's most likely a prostitute.
Oh they cut the reaction to her death lol
Love the reactions!Comment❤
the kid is def dead yakuza have no need for kids they wouldn’t be profitable to them
Watching reactions of episodes like this and seeing reactors with absolutely no response other than a dumbass joke or just laughing instead of getting the weight of the episode and the depth is so telling about their actual intelligence. Talking to you lightbulb dome on the right.
wow stopped in for a sec to seee a reaction and ended up hearing the dumbest damn theories ever, even while the scenes were playing lol wtf
Great episode but so different than the others. Even though it was as good as it was I hope we go back to the silly fun show it was next week.
oh boy...
Good news........ 😊
a mix would be fine tbh
Be ready to watch dandadan be changing genre every 2 episodes
Kind of? Dandadan is unpredictable. Every arc will have some sadness, the amount varies. If this arc was about motherhood, the next is about fatherhood.
🥲👍
Btw she didnt rest on peace..it wasnt HER Child..
She definitely got put to rest in peace because of Aira’s hug and words. That’s the whole point of that scene, and how Aira is impacted by this choice in the future episodes. Even if Aira wasn’t her child, she gave her peace that she was a good mother so that she can move on to the afterlife.
Adorkable: I really dont care about her💃🎉💃
The kid died, they reunited in the afterlife. Anime hasn't conveyed the ending from source material accurately, aside from that it was good adaptation.
They couldn't. Censors probably required them to be more subtle.
@@Rutabega_NG yep.
