On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Loving the Apache content, I can't decide which ground and pound I like more, AH64 or A10. great mission. An Apache sneak and peak mission heavily gaurded by SAMs. Mission is to take out early warning radar and bomber group. Wooded hills runway. Thanks!!
we need more gripen and viggen content!!!!!!!!
Sadly, lost an Apache today in training. 46 year old retired pilot (instructor) as well.
May he rest in peace 😢
The one at Rucker yesterday?
Was my stick buddy. Great dude! We lost a good one.
That’s horrible, i hope his family is doing well ❤
I'm so sorry to hear that mate. Hes in a better place now, I hope you can move on fast and pursue your career.
As a mechanic and crewchief of an AH-64 E this is so accurate to the real thing I’ve also seen pilots shoot worse your accuracy is pretty good imo
Every gun is different. Some were tack drivers, some were completely off. That's why we test fired a burst into a field after leaving the fob - you never knew which type of gun you had.
@@FTC_Yoguurt True military grade tech there. It's either the best thing you've got (must've had it for 13 seconds), or it's barely working (e4s have been "repairing" it for the last 20+ years)
Now that is one hell of a good compliment😆🤣
@@alexanderhamilton4258 Ha! ain't that the truth!
I work on your valves, and just down the hallway we work on your starters and apu's
To anyone complaining about GS’s aim with the Apache gun: i invite you to look at longshot with the various rapid fire miniguns lol. Suppression is important
Again thank you for putting the mission up for download. I'm going to use this to try to get back into the AH-64
My pleasure hope you enjoy.
"George, you see that Hilux over there?"
"Yeah."
"I don't want to anymore."
And I thought the A-10 was personal and up close, absolutely loved every second of this!!
A-10 fans when I introduce them to the bell ah-1z cobra
Man, Hellfire missiles are neat. They're so small, yet their effect on target is quite epic.
They’re not that small. 88lb warhead IIRC, but it’s been a few years.
@@iantarasevitsch3325 Its the smallest PGM in the US Arsenal for fixed or rotary winged missile munitions.
@@tyvernoverlord5363The AGR-20 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) is a design conversion of Hydra 70 unguided rockets with a laser guidance kit to turn them into precision-guided munitions (PGMs). APKWS is approximately one-third the cost and one-third the weight of the current inventory of laser-guided weapons.
Hellfire weighs 45kg+, APKWS is 15kg, much smaller. Was tested on Apache in 2013, fielded on Apache in theater in 2015.
Just an FYI, you have to yell "Get some" when firing any kind of airborne automatic weapons .
Yup, thems the rules
Anyone who runs is VC. Anyone who stands still is well-disciplined VC.
Absolutely!!
And you have to maniacally laugh every 3-5 seconds in between target groupings
I had a roomate who served in Afghanistan, and he has seen the Apache in action. He described as the most horrifying bringer of doom imaginable.
I mean, it got most taliban to just give up; and the Iraqis and the Republican Guard didn't want the smoke and would routinely give up and surrender en mass to flights of Apaches.
The whole time GS was shooting the gun I couldn't help but think 'where are the 2.75 in rockets'?
POV from 30mm is so cool.
I love the sound of the Strella getting ready to fire a missile.
Very cool!
Man I love your videos. I wish I could get into DCS as much as you and your pals. Thanks for the content.
Hopefully they make the Vietnam Era AH-1 Cobra, CAS mission with that would be fun to watch. Or you could try using the A4 or F4 for CAS.
The AH-1 nose pods with 20 or 40mm launchers with machineguns are pretty cool too
'Hover and kill everything'. Good slogan for an Apache t shirt.
I love those air support videos, specially with the Apache and A-10
Reminds me of one of my favorite games as a kid, which was Jane's Combat Simulator Apache Longbow.
Inspiring as allways.
On top I get to download the same mission.
It's just great!
Thx a bunch!
Nothing like a autocannon that shoots 30mm HE 'grenades'... That's some pretty tight footage.
Feels so good to watch your videos again after six months
Even back in Desert Storm with the -A models they were a serious threat. The -D models came out right after the war and were many times more effective, and have been since. There isn;t anything better for delivering Army warheads on foreheads.
anyone else remember Nicholas Cage in the movie "Firebirds" yelling "I am the greatest!" in the Apache simulator?
Yup
Yes. It was Top Gun but with helicopters.
@@shawnfoley826 It was the Army's "attempt" at Top Gun. Failed miserably.
You want a piece of strawberry gum?
You sure? It's delicious.
I am your mother now Calvin
When u were shooting the running infantrymen it reminded me the Nisour Square lmao
insane how they even modeled the bullets too💀💀
you can find the bullet model by looking on the the left bottom dash corner (look at bottom of the left pillar nearest to pilot to find it. it kinda looks like mig21 flying by) at code 8:49 and advance or reverse the frames with comma and semicolon keys to find it.
I love this video. The Apache is a killer. Great job.
"Get some! Get some!"
Such a great weapons platform. Prob my next module.
Just picked it up also after owning all the other helis for ages....LOTS of buttons and hats required! Only module I need 3 Modifiers for 😬
Two F16 shootdowns might make the material losses closer to equal, despite the extremely lopsided personnel losses
True.
No way. Don't compare dollar for dollar, compare relative dollar for dollar. Uncle Sam has plenty of F-16's.
Dude the gun sounds so good. 🤌
More missions where GS is protecting my freedom.
Let’s go new Apache video. I was craving a new one :DD
What an incredible machine.
Me, sitting here cackling with glee, listening to the sound of the gun.
F/A-18E/F vs F-35C (Fox-2 fight) would be epic to see! Navy vs Navy : Old vs New
Day 85
Indeed it would
Finally! Another apache vid, this is what I have been waiting for…
It's amazing something the size of the Apache is able to carry 1200 rounds of 30mm ammo.
And carry enough ballistic protection to comfortably shrug off most small arms fire and light glances from AA cannons.
@@tyvernoverlord5363 If the Apache had ballistic protection to comfortably shrug off small arms, it wouldn't be able to get off the ground. Go see one at an airshow. You can punch a screwdriver through just about any part of it.
@@FTC_Yoguurt Kevlar and light armor. It does in fact possess this. The parts that you can “drive a screwdriver” are obviously not deemed necessary to armor. And it’s not throughout the airframe.
It’s not flying around with lvl IV equivalent plates all around. The only really solid hard armor is the armored glass and titanium tubs that the pilot and gunner’s seat sit in.
Please be knowledgeable before spouting stuff off.
The external view sounds of those inbound missiles just before impact tho, awesome...
the gunners laugh :) i like it a bit to much. thank you
I’ve been waiting for an Apache video.
The gun on this bird goes on pounding it doesn't even jam due to overheating.
Amazing!
Yep. Lightweight, air cooled, fired fairly slowly for a an aerial gun system.
Video Idea: Ka-50 vs Apache above Syria all arms free direct confrontation.
Also: I-16 vs F-22 or Su-57 (This is 93d attempt to get that to your attention)
I am pretty sure the Ka-52 holds claim of the most enemy AFV kills in the world now.
The rounds the Apache fires are also explosive rounds if I'm not mistaken. They don't have to hit a target directly. If you're a soft tissue living being the shrapnel will do some damage.
4m burst radius on the 30mm. Individual infantry can and do survive those bursts - it’s all luck of the draw. It’s an area suppression weapon system.
@@iantarasevitsch3325Just watch some night FLIR gun footage...man shaped heat sig running, 30mm shell splash on ground beside him....lots of small chunks of flying heat signatures 😮😬
You needed to take a closer look the enemy only attacked the port-a-podies, the troops are not happy. On a side note the MRE storage facility did get destroyed so moral did improve.
The Apache skin in this video, tail number 596, is now assigned to 1-10 AB, and is currently in Iraq. I actually flew 596 probably about a week ago. She’s got over 8000 hours on her now and is kinda becoming a piece of shit lmao
They need the flechette rockets. Great for area ground targets.
Very cool video l have always liked the Apache helicopter it's a great weapon to use and have.
You busted the gun duty cycle on that gun.
the chain gun never gets old
Finally got a pc today, finally got dcs and waiting for my hotas to come next week so I’m using a controller mouse and keyboard lol pretty clunky but I’m having so much fun
thats exactly how I started, enjoy every minute of it.
Apache vs Frogfoot!
To be more precise, that is an Apache Longbow. Instead of a laser mounted sight it uses radar, clouds and smoke doesn't block its view. It's the bulb on top of the blades. AH-64D
All D models are known as LBs. he is in fact using the laser to enable a TADS RFHO w/L model missiles.
@@WoodyAH64 Its got the radar on top of the blades? Looks like he's using the laser first to select the target and then letting the radar take over after firing? I think?
@@denkeylee Laser/Radar TADS targeted laser guided Hellfires it looks like. Radar hellfires have a solid nose cone, not sure what the weaps page and firing procedures are for them, I've only dealt with the laser guided variants.
love the stuff, would love a stealth or behind enemy lines pop -up sort of attack mission
Hellfire missiles are vicious little buggers, especially against those lighter (well, lighter than tank) vehicles
Been working on apaches since 2006 😅 it’s a love hate relationship.
That's a DSC right there.
Sad a couple friendlies had to die, but great clean up op and good job!
Hell, I'm still neck deep into the Jane's F-16 Falcon manual after 20 years....
US apache fires a much tighter grouping compared to the UK version. UK apache deliberately spreads the rounds as they're basically grenades so they aim to separate each round by 5-10 meters per burst.
That would have been a lovely gun run for the A10
Cool! Do this in the kursk attack
You should do helicopter dogfights like that terrible Nicholas Cage movie Fire Birds
2.75 frag rockets would’ve been good on dispersed infantry
Change of pace I see. 😛
When shooting with the Apache, by lowering your altitude you will increase the hit probability dramatically, due to decreasing the angle of engage(this is a made-up name, but you get the principal).
To avoid retaliation, you can increase your distance, longitude-wise.
"They were there." -GS 2024
The next video you should try was the Cobra Attack Helicopter.
5:35 HAHA!! Where is your infantry support, tank?
Great content! Always enjoyable. I was wondering if you would ever or if it's possible to do a video using the Bell AH-1Z Viper? If you have made a video flying that machine I don't recall.
Now. Im a GAU8 Avenger kid thru and tbru but DAMN if that 30mm chaingun dont have the CHUNKCHUNKCHUNK that i adore
The best sounding guns has to be the Apache and the Warthog.
The AH-64's time in combat area is so effective, I wonder whats more effective Ah-64 or The A-10's time
Pucker factor 5 when you nearly hit that tower
Earliest I been to a video 😮
Nobody cares. Grow up.
More such video please , kind of war scenario opponents with tanks helo and Sam system at back of the tank and same in your side also.
“Shoot the treeline!”
I’ve avoided DCS as I just don’t think I’ll be able to fly a plane, but seeing this video makes be want to get it for the Apache. I’ve been gaming for decades, but would I be in a world of struggle if I jump straight into getting this DLC?
Helicopters are more difficult to fly than fixed wing aircraft.
The main thing with helicopters is needing some form of anti-torque controls. If you can get a stick that has a Z axis or rudder pedals, then you should be set. There are people who play with controllers though, and I don't understand how they can do it.
You are motivated enough. All you need is to start and see how it goes. DCS also offers a trial system where you can try out every aircraft free for two weeks each so that you could try the Apache first and after the 2 weeks something else
Sadly, the Chain Gun didn't seem to be very effective against the Troops. One would think there'd be a bit of Splash Damage if the round landed within a few feet of you (them) ?
Rockets would be very effective against them though. 😁
I love your videos
Ever thought about making a video in the F-35 doing what it was designed for?
No f35 in dcs
Crashing and costing billions?
No good F35 in DCS*
@@Blackjack701AD what are you talking about? The f-35 has one of the lowest crash rates per flight hour of any aircraft in the US arsenal. You only think it crashes a lot because a 50 year old f-16 crashing is barely news, but an f-35 crashing definitely is.
@@corok12I know people are so ignorant it’s crazy.
America! The targets are always worth less than the ordnance that destroys them.
Love ur vids
Multi Million dollar attack chopper that can be downed by a $1000 FPV armed with a standoff shaped charge. Battlefield of the future.
What’s bursting for accuracy 😂😂
Lollll that sucks for those guys in the open field lol
In an actual engagement, would the Apache priority be to find and render assistance to the downed F16 pilots?
Rest you guys notice when the arty started dropping the gomers did a "nope" and turned around?
I never noticed DCS npc infantry actually trying to avoid fire.
Area spread mg's have allways been effective. The GPMG M60 was/is a prime example. Mag 58 GPMG as well. The bren gun was dead accurate but a prime example of being too accurate. In theory it could fire one round after the other through the same bullet hole. Never happened of course but it required more effort to spread rounds.
With the Apache's 30mm, it's more so that its rounds are HE rounds.
Next time run your FCR from the backseat and tag and bag the armor yourself.
I blame half my tinnitus on the apache. That nose gun is fucking loud when ur on the ground
do a ww2 bomber escort!!!
Thats a great idea, never thought of it. Hope he does it
@@ModifiedType-Kiryu yeah, ive been asking for a while but still no video :) hope he does!
The apache looks 100x better from the outside than the inside. Whenever I see the outside footage I think ''yeah, I'm gonna hop in the AH64 too now", but after 10 min flying it... it just hits different
Hell yeahhhhh 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
Needs more Longshot.
16 hellfires..

nice video
My only wish is that you combine DCS with something like Arma
😃👍🏻
