It’s actually harder than it looks for a jet to dogfight a helicopter because of the speed difference. Jets aren’t built to fly at such slow speeds. However, if the jet goes too fast, there are issues such as the helicopter sitting within the turn radius (demonstrated in both one circle and two circle settings in this video) as well as a very high closure speed.
As Tarkalak said, heli's actually have huge advantages against jets. ESPECIALLY if they're outfitted with AA missiles. They are very "stealthy" on a jets radar, as those radars are optimized for other jets and fast flying things in the air. A chopper can stand still, and work REALLY well close to the ground. It's very hard to track a chopper that doesn't want to be tracked for a jet. And there's no out turning a chopper in a dogfight. The major weakness for choppers however, the jet decides the engagement. If the jet wants to go home, there's nothing the chopper can do, the jet can easily evade the chopper, if the jet knows where to evade (can just climb to 40.000 feet and yeet out of there). And the chopper can't just get away from the jet if it wanted to.
I can't immagine what the Longbow radar along MMW guided Hellfire can do in this case scenario. An Apache armed with 16 Hellfire AGM-114L could be a nightmere for air and ground targets. My absolutely favorite part is: "I'm learning" and win twice in a row
Idk man its hard to say. A radar HF wont function exactly like a Fox 3 or even a Fox 1 they werent really designed to lead the movement of a fighter, I do believe the radar Hellfire would be the better choice though.
KA-50 vs F-22, pretty please? I think we all realize that the Felon could absolutely smoke the Apache with a Fox 3 shot, but it was cool to see that it's somewhat possible in a dogfight.
Surely the Apache could just sit stationary at treetop level and basically roleplay being a ground platform, though? And Fox 3s aren't very useful against ground targets. Then again, the chopper blades might produce a strong enough radar return.

I was in a National Guard Apache Battalion in the Ops section (NOT a pilot). I was told there was some kind of flechete rocket that could be issued. They semi-regularly trained against the A10s at the Air Force Base and beat them all the time. McDonnell-Douglas/Hughes proved it could shoot Stingers but the Army never fielded them.
So this was kinda frustrating (gun-wise) and mainly funny... ...but definitely the weirdest dogfight ever! VERY entertaining! Well done and thanks, G.S. (What's next - Sopworth Camel v Su-35?)
There was a PAF FA-50, Philippines Air Force. Engaged a simulated missile kill on a F-22 last July. The story went wild and an actual audio from the PAF pilot was extremely excited. I have no idea if you can create a dog fight with the FA-50 against F-22 that would be interesting to see.
Dude flying the SU-57 was very accommodating, especially the last two rounds where basically posed for the kills. For that matter even merging with a helicopter is for fun only nonsense. Still, this was a very entertaining video.
Odds in reality would be pretty in favor of the Apache. USAF and Army did some tests called J-CATCH in the 70's that had AH-1 Cobras go up against F4, F15, A10 and A4 aircraft, and in close combat the kill ratio ended up being 5-1 in favor of the helo. Basically brought in instructions that aircraft under no circumstances are to engage in close combat with helicopters, and to always use long range stand off weapons.
Operation.j catch was when the US tested its own attack Choppers against fighter craft, such as the eagle. It turned out that the helicopters were actually able to dominate the fight, going to show that an elevated attack platform that can maneuver and Hoveround is a bit slow, might be far more dangerous than anyone expected if equipped properly. We need to fit some LPI Radars and amraams or aim 260 s on them, maybe a IRST, some stealth characteristics, and let them go all SPAMRAAM on foes. They did actually prove themselves in those exercises the US tested them with
The old-school "hot brick" jammer, which only worked against old-fashioned conical-scan missiles (up to 1980s production R-73 Archers), is finally being replaced with Common Infrared Countermeasures. This is a directional laser that dazzles the missile sensor, much like the Felon is supposed to have, actually. If this Felon is firing modern production R-73 then the old jammer is not helpful and would if anything better be left off. On the other hand, it would be interesting to test older IR missiles against the DCS AH-64, because in theory, at least some of them should get "caught" by the jammer and fail to connect.
I was just a ground pounder, but i swear I've seen Apache's with a Stinger mount. Am I mistaken? We seem capable of mounting the things on pretty much anything. But I truly believe I saw 1st Cav Apaches early inIraq with them.
