Great video gents. Wish i had Blake's courage and skills for jumps 😏, just cutting through them like a hot knife through butter. Also, love the chemistry with you both. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Would be good for you at GMBN too take a complete beginner from start to finish on jumping getting slowly bigger as time gos on ,come on Blake your next project 😀
What I'd like to see is instead of showing you how to do things it would be nice for Blake and the team to take a few novices out on the trails and coach them through things and let us newbies follow a person's progress through actually riding trails and jumps.i think for someone like me it would be a great series because there are alot of new riders who need to start at the beginning. Surely the rewards for everyone involved would be awsome.
I don't even have the confidence to tackle small jumps... LOL I didn't have a bike for 35 years, and just purchased a bike last November. And already suffered a fractured rib... At 50 years, I don't heal as easily. But it's still better than being cooped up from the pandemic.
In that case I wish you speedy recovery with plenty of strength left over I should know I broke both elbows July 5th of 2020 I did a 40-ft nose dive from a jump that I didn't see around the corner
It's amazing to see how much better Blake is at jumping, especially boosting, than Rich. It's really cool to see how the difference between to top riders is so pronounced. I think that is one of the cool things about the sport, and one of the resons why all different levels can have fun together. Dreamzzzz!
Now that's a good watch from the two most likeable presenters on GMBN. Lets see more of you two together, you both ride so differently its a great contrast👍🏽
Quality. Going to take some of these tips to bigger jumps later! Also, remember the jump face will slow you down when you hit it, so compensate your approach speed for that. If you're going too slow, you're going to slow down further and you won't make it over. Once you find the sweet spot though it's awesome.
Awesome tip about starting with the first jump . Getting comfortable and then moving on to the next ones . Sick 🙌 . The other one is very crucial . When you go faster you don’t pop just flow of it . Awesome video . Very on point answering very common questions 💪
I was editing my video until I got this notification everything went on hold to watch this, well worth it though 😀. Cracking video as always 😀. GMBN always providing the knowledge for their viewers 👍
Blake can I ask you, you cased the drop didn't you?,(2:19) and you were standing funny coz it was your balls that absorbed the shock.....I know as I've done it 😂😂
A video analysis of Richs jumping by Blake would be great. To learn what he could do better. For example to jump as high as Blake... Blake jumps just double the height of Rich jumps.😁
When Blake said how fast they entered the jump. When Blake said imagine it in the dry. Made me think, "your in Wales. That's the only way that jump will be dry."
So, to summarize, you can build confidence by having Blake tow you in. If you’re not Blake’s friend go to a bike park so there’s someone there to call an ambulance for you when you wreck and horribly disfigure yourself. I’m feeling more confident already!👍
I'm very confident on a motocross bike where a panic rev can fix things like the kicker Blake mentions at the end. Maybe it's just that I'm still on an older, HT, 26er (Tomac Cortez), but I have nowhere near the aerial confidence MTB. You guys all had nice, neutral positions on the bike. What are the panic rev equivalents in MTB? If front wheel gets too high would a tap on the rear brake bring it down or are the wheels too light on bikes? If the bike is rotating front wheel down, is there anything to counteract once in the air?
@darius Bish I think I have crashing and bailing down pretty good. Back when I wore clipless, I'd tuck and roll with the bike...at least for the first part of the tumble. Now, with flats, I eject out over the front....progress. Pretty comfortable with stepping off the back given my rather awkward manual practice. Crashing a mountain bike seems harsh and quick compared to motocross. Mountain biking as a "safer" version of motocross...except for the part where the protective gear is limited, you are miles from medical care, and are often beyond mobile phone service.
I find jumping with my shock set in the middle setting rather than open now I’m learning to jump more, is this normal? Would I be better off adding psi and riding it open or is the middle setting okay? I’m a trail rider so stay firmly on the ground 90% of the time so would love to find a happy medium
can anyone give me tips on how to improve. Basically I'm not that confident at doing jumps anymore, even tables, because every time I jump, i clear it but i land really sketchy. like every time I get into the air, my whole body just leans to one side and always feel like I'm going to crash, sometimes did! My suspension is perfectly tuned, but I don't know what to do to stop it from happening. Please can somebody give me any advice on how to stop this please if you can.
Focus on compressing the bike in the lip and then using ur arms as "hooks". I'd say u are pulling with one arm more than the other or its really windy. So try to get ur pop from compressing the bike on the lip instead of pulling
After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
No issues with assembly for me ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
We can easily see that blake is much more confident with jump .He has open face ,Richard has every time foulface. I believe blake is one of the most confident person on jumps, Richard i think is better wirh xc
First thing first you need to lose weight, build some athleticity: breath, muscles and then trying some jumps; a jump requires lots of energy and oxygen, you can’t just jump as a beginner.
What would be really good for me is a 'How to build confidence for small jumps.'

There are many videos about that already. Search for "MTB jumping progression".

There was a channel that did that. Fluidride mtb or something like that. I agree it would be a nice series for gmbn.
This is where im at currently trying to get confidence. All the jumps I have available are doubles, so its do or die lol

Basically if you want to do any jump line in Wales up need to go when it’s not windy. Also good luck.

I comment on every your video, Blake you are top mate, just I've made Coffeee ,something to eat and watch with so much interesse 🙌😎😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Blake's summary of this video:
'Go FASTER'

One think they never talk about is tyers pressure they jump plus suspension clicks with your own weight

Wat do i always land front wheel first? I preload the suspension before takeoff but cant seem to get the rear wheel level

Riding in the middle isnt good for your shocks when you jump. Always leave it open unless you are climbing
That first hit Blake didn't take into account the Affy factor....
Blake...why is that shock locked?
wheel size?
