Had to pause and say THANK YOU for being honest about the realities of living in NY. I’m new here from CA (literally on my 3rd week living here in NY) and I did not expect to spend so much of time alone. BUT, NYC is amazing and is teaching me how to appreciate my alone time even when I feel like I should be going out and making new friends. Lol so, thank you for showing me that I wasn’t alone in feeling this. Ok, now back to watching the video lol
while i do enjoy the travel content, your NYC videos are my favorite. would love to see more content of you living your everyday life. it feels more personal and relatable. ❤️

I've spent time growing up in Switzerland, been all around Europe, central/south America, and Southeast Asia. But I don't care what people say New York City is BEAUTFUL. Especially in the spring & fall. There's nothing like it, I'm from here and biking around on a sunny fall day literally still puts a smile on my face :)

Thank you for talking about friends and alone time. I'm the type of person who when she isn't at school, I don't hang out with people. But for the past two years, being alone was kind of forced on me. My friends are away or my new "friends" from uni were just friends at uni. So right now I spend all my time alone and I am trying, one step at a time, to find ways to be more social and meet people. But it scares me more now because trusting new people can be scary.
In January I'm moving out to Canada and this is going to be so challenging, but I'm taking this as a goal of mine : make friends.
Honestly as someone who’s lived in NYC my whole life I can def tell you that it’s kind of the culture to just be alone a do things alone. Don’t beat yourself up about not making/constantly going out with friends! Everyone is busy and spending time alone especially in the city is still the best ❤️
Why am I binging all of your vlogs during quarantine? It makes me want to go out, do stuff with my friends and go on adventures, but I can't do that

Amazing Video - I spent my last winter vacation vlogging in New York and really enjoyed the ice skating sessions. Except for the cold which can get unbearable, I feel November and December are the best months to visit NYC
The thing about feeling guilty for relaxing well.. I don't really feel guilty about that but I definitely have a sense of FOMO. I think the balance gets a lot harder when you work and are in school because the time you actually have off well for me I just want to relax in bed all day. Then I don't see friends or anything on the weekend because im too tired from the week to even care to go out. My friends are the same way so its just not a great cycle but I have literally no idea how to get out of it

I'm from Europe but I visited the us for three weeks in September. I "only" got to see San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago and a bunch of National Parks in the south west. But Elenas videos (and Himym) make me wanna go to nyc so badly.
