This is an amazing service to holdsworth fans all over the world. Such a great backing track of such an emotional track. Matteo 's cover sent many of us here. Great channel!!
yeah, tony's original performance on the original. don't get me wrong, the drums are great here! also, gary husband on 'letters of marque'. it's nost just flying, it's interstellar travel
I'm a bass player, so I look forward to seeing a backing track without bass, but this will do just fine. It's still sparce enough. AH forever !!!!!! Tony Williams !!!!!!!!!! Rock Fusion 4Ever !!!!!!!
this isn't even close to the whole song...most of it is missing. everything is obviously electronic, that bass is sterile and soulless. Allan would not have approved, especially since he hated people copying him.
@@nasticanasta Allan would also disapprove of your criticism since he was a live and let live player. I disagree that it's soul-less bass. This is for practicing, so it's fine.
Daniele I would like to improv to this selection. Please let me know. Rather than pop up the video I would like a copy sent to me if you care to. But I will explain once you agree. Have a great day. The drums are so good along with the Bass...
Great Daniele! Awesome version you did, that inspired me to try as well. Maybe the only one AH's song I can dream of playing someday. Cheers from Brazil!
What's with the (intentional) wrong chord? Allan bends the chord up a whole step, which is beautiful. This track bends up a half-step, which just sounds weird. I wish there was a version of this track that was faithful to the original chords.
Just start out by playing basic arpeggios for each chord, then add more tones to them. After a while add a bit of dorian, lydian, mixolydian, melodic minor + messian modes and just phrase it tastefully. Checking out some of Allan’s instructional videos are good as they also show you his variations on scales too.
Read "Reaching for the Uncommon chord" to understand what's going on in some chord changes in his progressions. It's best to learn the harmonic content before the lines.
Very cool, please tell me - do you have a version with a solo section and a subsequent exit back to the theme? if you could share it, I would be very grateful! thanks
E lyidan. Bmi7. , repeat 4 times . the bridge is A6, G6, with those punches: B5, E5 D5. the long form of the bridge, the next time around is B5, D5, C5(with an implied lydian feel, C lydian). B E5 D5/ repeat both. the tag is Bmi, Dma6, F#mi6, alternates. i love that tag.
"Reaching for the Uncommon Chord" is a book with a few Holdsworth tunes tabbed and charted out , including a good transcription of the chords for Fred.
Took a day off guitar and came back shredding this track🎉

This is my favourite jamming song, very fun to play, just wish it was longer😅

It's Chad in the photo flying :)

@@jimmythebold589 The drums here are programmed. Same with bass. Drums are probably superior drummer. (toontrack)

Ive been working on it since 75
There is a Eb triad in the A section, while in the original tune the chord is E/B.
That's what I noticed too :-)
Mamma mia che pezzo fantastico!!!
My favorite Tony William's Lifetime song :) .

what are the best scales and modes to solo over this track
This is amazing, anyone knows a properly way to improvise over this chord changes?

@@DanieleRaciti yes the solo and return to head is all there?
Prima...thx!
TKS!!!
Really like the growl of the bass on this. Is it a VST or a real bass? Grazie mille Daniele!
Ehy Dan! It's a fretless bass from Logic Pro :)
@@DanieleRaciti this songs that like a real person. Wow!!!! I wish my software sounded more like a real hands on deck....
Can I get this track without bass so I can learn it on my bass? Thank you for your consideration

Awesome job. Chords please!
