I have watched many videos on apple pies and pie bases... But yours incorporated everything important that many videos gave me in bits and pieces... Thank you for being the perfect tutorial that has everything relevant. :) Good luck!
I do fully recommend buying an aluminium or steel pie or tart case, but if you can't you can use a shallow steel bowl, or a slightly deeper steel plate. I don't recommend trying to use a regular cake tin for baking a pie, because it is a huge pain to get it out. But that won't be a problem if you don't want to get it out, you can just slice it in the tin. If you have a cake tin with a loose bottom, or a spring form pan it will turn out good. But it won't have the shape of a proper pie, that's all.
Hi there, I'm making pumpkin pie and I'm going to use this dough recipe. Do I have to bake the dough before adding the pie filling? Or can I do that in one go? Thank you for the recipe it helped a lot ☺️
Hi You have to bake it for 8-10 mins at 180 degrees before filling in the stuffing if your choice and covering it with pie strips and baking again for 35-40 mins to cook completely.
After rolling out the dough, when I start lifting it over the rolling pin to transfer into the pie dish, the dough starts breaking and I end up breaking the whole rolled dough.. have tried so many times but it's not happen ing! Is there any other trick to transfer it without breaking ? Please reply. Thanks.
Instead of docking, have you tried blind baking with weights like rice or beans? I use rice when I blind bake. Was wondering if your crust reacts well with weighted blind baking.
It is important to keep the butter flakes in the dough. If not cold it will start to melt and come out of the dough in your hands and the surface. The idea is to keep the butter in the dough and create pockets of air
AcolyteArathok no for the pastry dough you need it to be flaky..and that flakiness comes when the cold butter fat that is still in the form of small crumbs due to cutting of butter will melt while baking and creates air pockets and provide a flaky texture.....melted butter will not give the perfect pastry shell.. it will give a slight different texture with melted butter..
Thanks for the recipe. It helps me in my learning n advancing my baking skills.

Hope it helps🙏

Why you add the chill butter any reason ??

Your so pretty ❤
Are we also supposed to dust the pie dish before putting the Dough into it?
So that it does not stick on your working bench

That accent is so cute, if all toddlers spoke English with a heavy Indian accent it would be like sunshine on top of sunshine.
How will we take out the cooked pie It breaks.
Can i use oil instead of butter?
No butter give flavor and flakyness to the pie. So its important
mam can u tell cup measurment for this recipe
This measure is for what diameter of pie dish?
Instead of chopping the butter can we put it in a grinder
No it will melt and disintegrate because of the heat. U will waste all of it
Is it crucial to cut the butter into the dough? Can i melt it before adding it to the flour?
AcolyteArathok actually you cant

I am all so use recipe but my dough is flop to much soft 😔
If, we don't have oven then..
the pie crust needs a little bit more color !! otherwise, this is a nice recipe !!!
what of my batter is too soft
Will that be bad 😰?
You can add more flour or put the dough in the fridge
If we don't have pie dish then
Did not turn out good at all... Very disappointed ☹️. It was very soft. Not at all crunchy. So much of efforts and time got wasted
Can we make it with wheat flour?
Can I use oil instead of butter??
