Those backup women singers are to die for!!!
That piano solo was INSANE
This is the greatest version of Georgy Porgy ever. Just can't get enough of it.
I have played this video about 100 times in two days! 🥰
@@Steve_2011_ only half as many times as I have 😂
Cheryl lynn
That's for sure
A G R E E
One of the tastiest solos Steve Lukather ever made. That says a lot considering the man has tons of memorable live solos.
Brilliant Guitar solo.......BUT being a keys man meself i think David Paiches solo at the end is pure keyboard masterclass and still blows me away every time i hear it.
I absolutely agree 🙏❤️🙏 A fusion scorcher!!!!!!!?
The Porcaro brothers man... best rythm section to have graced this world. Ever.
This is the best interpretation of Georgy Porgy.
Paich is a killer keyboard player. you never see the depths of his genius on most of their work.
Steve is not only a guitar slinger he is also a great singer
Mike's bass in this is from another planet man...INSANE!
Spot on brother! Mike was layin’ it down!!!!!
what can we listen to today with so much groove, accuracy, musicality ?
nothing...
rap music
Nothing comes close.
Who’s still listening, best version of this song I’ve ever heard, be very impressed if someone surpassed this.
No flash, just solid pocket and musicianship. A master at drumming for the music.
Only Steve could dress so metal and sing a song like this. Pure awesomeness.
Damn toto was seriously diverse- jazz, rock, pop= damn they did it alll!!!!!
You're correct, kinda like Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, and Boz Scaggs?
I didn't catch their Jazzy songs (Georgy Porgy and 99 for instance) to many, many years later.
MarkAntney Yes Mark I did some research turns out the keyboard player playes sessions for Boz Scaggs- and I know my scaggs that is for sure buddy- hahahaah!!! so that tots sounds so different some most of the trendy bands of the 80's - like the big 3 styx, journey, and REO- which all have a sig sound- I never felt that with Toto- from africa to rosanna and hold the line- all so different!!!! yes while I didnt pick that up unitl I started seriously dissecting music in the studio- LOL!!!
MarkAntney Explains why I love them so much!!! I dig jazz in a jam!!! In a 360 buddy- the CURE is another undefined band - Smith and Gallop run the whole genre gamet- from post punk, pop, metal, a little grungy feel and heavy heavy classical- I def felt that in many tracks from Disintegration- especially Homesick!!! But the Cure get their respect thats for sure- maybe because their an english band - I think that because we t\stick to trends here in the states this may have been the reason Toto was dismissed- with so many different sounds in their music they are seriously innovative.
@rvidal0001 He wish. They did session work for him. They were never "his band".
Don't forget the Funk!
The Paich’s solos are absolutely insane!
This solo is precisely why Luke will forever remain my favorite guitar player. Absolute monster technically but his phrasing is simply perfect as well.
Jeff Porcaro was a beast on the drums!
I grew up in the 70s...I think we took good music for granted...didn't realize that it wouldn't always be so...good/great music!
So, so true!!!
Absolutely 💯
My papa bought a DVD of this concert way back in 2008 (I was 11 then). I remember watching this almost everyday with him. Because of my papa, I learned about Toto and even memorized their names and listened to all of their songs. I am now 27 and I still listen to this since this is my most favourite one and it would always remind me of my papa who is no longer with us.
Do you remember the name of this concert? I would like to watch the entire concert 🔥
@@alejandrum13 Just search "Toto Live in Paris 1990 (Le Zenith, Paris, France)
This version is better than my entire life
Damn😅🤣
Mine too brother
Preach!!
I’m 26 and grew up with Toto through my dad. I’m so thankful for that
Much respect to Steve Lukather! Awesome musician, amazing guitar and vocals. Dude is a triple threat (nice looking
That has got to be one of the greatest live performances by any band. Anytime. Anywhere.
😂😂😂 Great performance, but no.
Musicianship simply off the charts …. and performed live!! Epic 🙏
RIP Jeff...one of the most profound groove drummers to ever walk the face of the planet...It was never about how many notes he played...it was about how he played them and where he placed them...My God...what a groovemeister !!!
Gone Far too soon...
“It may be that his sole purpose in life was simply to serve as a warning to others.” Don't do cocaine. Jeff lived to 38. Nancy Reagan lived to 94. Nancy said 'Just Say No'. Jeff did NOT listen.
@@tjh315 Okay grandpa. Nancy and Regean also put us in the hell hole we’re in today
@@nfaisnfgay I returned to 👍🏽my old comment. Jimmy Carter disagrees with you.
@@tjh315 what correlation?
The pair of singers have an incredible voice
Jacci Mghee is the singing featured on Make it Last Forever by Keith Sweat. The other is named Jenny Foote i believe
Peach Tucker thanks!
@@peachsweetie91 Thank you too !
Jacci McGhee and Jenny Douglas...
@@peachsweetie91 thanks
Jeff's groove. UGH. And that subtle intro. And that slick, understated but perfect bass break after the guitar solo. This is the so tasty man, one of my all time fave videos of TOTO.
Absolute eargasm man!
This bass break is so massive. I got goose flesh every time I hear it.
subtle double bass at 3:32 (or maybe he did it with one foot), so tasteful, miss you jeff
sumsar0125 with 1 foot
Mike Porcaro... awesome bass! RIP
Yarichin Rico u r right!
He's killing dat bass!!! RIP homeboy!!
So utterly fluid and tasteful !!!! He is so VERY MISSED 🎶💔😞💔🎶

This version of Gorgy porgy is one of the best song/videos ever made..Hats off to you Toto
I honestly have to say I'm very happy that I was born in an era to experience and truly appreciate the musical genius TOTO. I reserve my comments to those who truly deserve it. TOTO, my hats off to you. You guys truly rock!!!!!
💯 👍🏽😉
Me too 😊😊😊
Amen, it was the best era for Music.
The most pure version of this song. This is so sensitive, vibing all time long
I never appreciated this song when it was on the radio. But now hearing it live, and comparing it to commercial music today, this is just awesome.
exactly, the stuff today sucks big time!
It sure as hell is!

That guitar solo...❤️
Amazing Luke’s solo!!!
Steve's soulful vibe took this over the top. His playing speaks for itself. He's such an amazing talent.
This guys have soul
The best live version of this song in my opinion. Outstanding!
28 years ago today Jeff Porcaro ascended to the man upstairs to put the funk into eternity ... Rest In Peace Mr. Porcaro.
This IS the definitive version and line-up of the band. Irreplaceable, peerless and blxxdy brilliant moment in musical history : )
Kudos to we parents who raised our kids with this great music and to this day still love it!
The transition on 3:20... Brotherly love!
Holy crap how didn't I know about this version??
The absolute funkiest best version! Killing base! Mike! Jeff!
They don't make music like this anymore!
Damn Jeff Porcaro !!!! We miss you so Damn much !!!
One of my favorite steve lukather solo’s... His phrasing here..
Thank God we have the footage and clear audio of this performance. This is peak Toto a true masterpiece!
David Paich solo, wonderfull !
maaaaaaaaan what an entrance..... when a song starts like this , i love it straightaway!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best voices in the business. Smooth and romantic 😍
If David Paich isnt in the handful of the best keyboard players in the world, then I dont know. His solos are just so cool.
The amount of groove exuding from Jeff is intense.
Man this version gave me chills, so amazing!
the bass in 3.20 is awesome....!!!!!
Man. Listen to Jeff and Mike on this track! RIP
Luke is in the zone... as usual.
Paich is in the mood.
Most bands don't sound this good on their records coming out of the studio takes. Respect TOTO.
The best Guitar player in the world .... Steve Lukather !
What improptu guitar solo he made !
This version is the best one of George Porgy live.
Well, I gotta say that background vocals squizzed the whole juice out of that song! Smooth as fuck!
micha, i couldnt agree more
If you know who they are please tell me (except Jean-Michel Byron, he´s well known being a good backup for bobby imo)
-Jean-Michel Byron (Verse Ad Libs, Backing) - he is male, although some first think he is a woman because of his appearance and voice pitch.
-two soulful black singers (chorus, backing):
Jacci McGhee, Jenny Douglas-McRae

That Woman in Blue! That Voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A fantastic infusion of jazz and rock. These guys really surprised me. PROFESSIONALS.
I am so moved by this performance I am welting up with tears. Between his sultry voice, the soul girls on background, and top-notch musicians I'm in heaven. What a true gift this is.
David Paich on keys is the Sh%^&**!! Truly awesome solo here!!
Song makes me think of my brother in law George, RIP miss & love ya
I don't care... I love this song and have to listen this version everyday!
Gabriela Wolburg you're beautiful Gabriela. Love you mami
Si può piangere ascoltando musica?La bellezza di questo brano mi fa questo effetto.
This was Toto at their best..!! Nobody today can make music like this .. Those guys were musical maestros. Lukather still best guitarist on the planet.!!
Best version!!!!! ever
listen that groove of jeff... wonderful
Best rhythm section ever : Porcaro brothers...!
Bloody EPIC! I listend to this song in the car...for 3 hours straight, and STILL I wanted more...it's so grooving, that Porcaro is a GOD! That laid-back shuffle is like someone is giving you a foot massage! Meditating...No big chorus, no over-the top guitar...just this very soothing groove. Amazing....
Agree, but Jeff is NOT playing a shuffle on this one. Straigt 16th notes ;).
@@itsarni ...and with an outstanding finesse :)
0:46 lets the monitor engineer know he needs more of his vocals on his monitors. Subtle and quick.
How awesome is iot to have a bad ass lead singer be one of the greatest guitar players ever?
Loooove This concert!!!
Loooove the song
Loooove the lead singer he looked soo hot .... !
Very good artists !!
STEVE LUKATHER IS THE MASTER
THE BEST GUITAR AND VOICE
YEAHHHHH TOTO BEAUTIFUL MUSIC OF ALL TIMES
Of all the live versions of this song I've heard Toto do, this is most definitely my favorite. It's got it all: great grove, killer backing vocals, soulful guitar solo, wicked keys, and it has the added bonous of having Jeff Porcaro on drums.......doesn't get much better that that IMHO.
BLUE EYED SOUL, JAZZ, FUNK FUSION......AT IT'S BEST
Funky and jazzy!
best live version
The song "Georgy Porgy" was released as a single on April 1979. It was included on Toto's self-titled debut album in 1978. It charted on the Billboard Hot 100 (number 48) as well as on both the R&B (number 18) and Dance (number 80) charts. Although not a big hit, it was a favorite of mine. In 1999, a cover version by Eric Benet and Faith Evans was released and it reached #6 on Dance, #15 in R&B and #55 on Billboard Hot 100.
TOTO is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Los Angeles. Widely known for the Top 5 hits "Hold the Line", "Rosanna", and "Africa." Toto has released 14 studio albums, and has sold over 40 million records worldwide. The group has been honored with several Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009
Ironic that Benet's version did better, since Toto's blows him away.
Cooking spaghetti and dancing like a crazy woman in my kitchen.......how amazing these guys were is an understatement....the vocals ......the solos.....never again will this lightning strike.....so grateful this was my era.......
damn near perfect song all the way around.... miss the late 80's early 90's
One of THE BEST Bass parts I've ever heard! "Tasty"!!!
Very talented group - loved Steve's guitar solo!
Toto is the best band ever and steve is the best guitar player

Amazing guitar solo
How can anyone dislike this?
+MultiEightiesgirl A completely deaf person that didn't enjoy the visuals in the video? DAMN this is a good live version!
yeah. they dont like their hair-do lol
QueenofWisdomPhD No shit, right?
They GOTTA be trump supporters! :>)
I am not a big fan of Trump but I am supporting him as the president, so I really think they are Kim Jong Un supporters...LOL....(said with a smile) have a great day all!
I've always loved the jazzy chord progressions in this song. Haven't heard this in years! One of my favorites! Really nice seeing this live performance.
Lukather's guitar solo at 2:38 is SWEET! Superbly crafted - better than most musicians can achieve in a carefully controlled studio environment with multiple takes. He's doing it LIVE!!!
When you watch this you're either INSPIRED to become a better musician or DISGUSTED knowing you'll never be this good.
(Anybody know of any other fantastic LIVE guitar solos in this same vein?)
THANKS FOR POSTING TOTO.
Super groove!
The best groove performance of all time... for me.
For some reason this song hits my soul every time I hear it. Steve L your a champion with the lead guitar. Totally cool band always have been.
Best toto song. This version rocks.
I had that skirt in black....David Paich is one of the most soulful singers/songwriters..Love it!
This is the best version I've heard so far!
